Yep, they see it as "why would a wolf concern itself with the issues of sheep." Some even take it beyond that and it's "I'm a wolf, you are a sheep, I'm supposed to prey upon you." But then, there's a level that's even darker and it's legit union with dark forces, in a religious, ceremonial/ritual way.

Oh, I see the part that annoyed some of the people in the comments. He pointed out that rebellion is only step one of the devils plan. Followed by taking control and being evil to people.
What is interesting, as we think about big movie hits, how there has been a more common theme of the "bad boy", the rule breaker, the rebel being the hero. And of course, there are plenty of examples of movie hero's being on the side of the rule of law, there are smash hits like Pirates of the Caribbean where the pirate Jack Sparrow, rule breaker, thumbing his nose at all authority, is the clear favorite. Just one of many steps breaking down in childrens minds that the being "bad" is fun and exciting. Growing up in the 70's the theme "sex, drugs and rock and roll" was practically the anthem of American teenagers.
I live in a small College town. Saw a girl walking up my street wearing devil-horns. They weren't clip-ons, they were expertly fixed to her forehead.( just last week, I might add/ no Halloween) I see these kind of things a lot around here. Being "normalized" now.

What Satanism looks like in modern society is what it looks like in every age - except with gadgets - because man has not changed. Jesus said to Peter "Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." Peter said to Jesus, with the best intentions, after hearing Jesus first mention his coming passion, that his enterprise will be successful, that he won't experience that suffering! In Peter's mind he was trying to be encouraging but Jesus could see that he was encouraging Jesus not to succeed but to imitate his own desire for success. The very act of mimicking the desires of other men is a satanic act. It is a usurping act aimed at God's place and power and even if it is small and seemingly of good intentions it is a seed for more mindless imitation of desire that can multiply down the road. Whether it is the desire of Peter or Mr Pageau or Mr Jordan Peterson or the goofy modern satanist down the road, mimicking any of their desires are all acts of satanic practice. To think that the satanic only reveals itself through the behaviour of our current goofy degenerates would be a folly of pride in my estimation.
Mr Pageau stresses above that satanists identify themselves as God, which I understood as 'prime movers', or 'self actuating', their will and power they believe comes from within themselves, they are independent beings, so to speak. Funnily enough this is also the perspective of romantic literature (read Ayn Rand protagonists) which Mr J Peterson likes to promulgate (romanticism that is, not Rand) in the form of 'myths' and 'legends' - "Go slay your dragon!". The perspectives are similar in that they reject the third party to all human endeavours, the model for ones behaviour (for the Christian the model is Jesus, or God). Myths and legends, like satanism, reject the Other in favour of a simpler equation - Subject/Object - which is a lie. There is only the Object and my desire for it the romantics insist. The truth, as shown in the Bible, or in the great novels (Dostoyevsky, Proust, Shakespeare, etc), is that the subject's desire comes from someone else. This truth of tripartite existence for humans must be acknowledged in order to understand and move on beyond our current dilemmas. I only mention this here to clarify that Pageau's definition for satanist given above is not clear, at least to me, and also to illuminate the lie of romantic self actualisation as I have come to understand it.

In context "Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law" doesn't mean what it appears to. In Crowley's work your "will" is your purpose, what you are meant to do.
LeVey and others are using the literal means and Crowley's many failings to justify their acts.

I have no reason to accept that definition, and have no idea: 1) what "the" "objective" "psyche" means, 2) why it is singular, 3) what's objective about it, or 4) what psyche refers to outside of the narrow field of psychology. I just don't think you're priotizing making sense in any of that.
Why do these types always misunderstand Crowley's Law of Thelema? It has nothing to do with imposing your will on others and, in fact, expressly forbids it. Everyone has the right to Do Their Will and no one has the right to interfere unless that Will is to control others. Its not just a matter of doing your own Will but of respecting the Will of everyone else. A Thelemite cannot casually murder someone, as so many seem to think, unless they can find someone whose Will it is to be murdered by them. If a child expresses a desire to be an Artist its parents cannot force it into another occupation. If a child wishes to be an accountant or a truck driver they are left to follow that goal. The core idea is that if everyone was free to live that they chose, to Do Their Will, the world would be a happier, more balanced place. Crowley was a complex character and if he were to knock on my door I'd pretend to be not at home but this idea is not entirely without merit.

I just think based on the fact that Crowley claims that he was called by Horus the son of Osiris to bring back the golden age is directly against Christ, who is God, which is Jesus of Nazareth. The only Will that is worth anything is the Fathers will. The reason why you can track back his ideas is because in his biography (I forget the specifics) he simply left God and was eager to serve his new master. That implies to me that he was well aware of what it meant to use your own will to “help” the world by not controlling. The Devil is seeking worship based on doctrinal lies and corruptions that sound religious, pious, and spiritual, but are contrary to the righteousness of God which is by faith in the gospel of the grace of God (Gal 1:8-9, 2 Cor 11:3-4).
He sits in church every Sunday, he reads the Bible (before he twists it), he does charity work. People love him because he is amiable.
They think he is God and that their god is better than the God of judgment that worries so much about religious differences and doctrines.
They have not made a god from their imaginations. Their god is real. He exists. He has power. He intervenes in the world. He is a bearer of light and minister of righteousness.
They are right. They are worshiping someone real, but he is not the true God.
Their false god is not imaginary because they have made the Devil out to be god (John 8:44), and believed a lie that the Devil does not exist.

Satan operates through the physical world and symbols. You don't praise him by praying to him, you praise him by praying attention to his realm, his symbols. You dont have to worship Satan to worship Satan and he prefers the covertness.
I think there are like two separate beliefs that "I am God". Yes I can agree on satanic one "Do what thy will", but from my feeling and understanding "I am God" (part of him).
God is everything, and you accept his blessing by leaving your ego. But it's ego indulging to believe that you are the God.

Since the video is about satanism in the world, satan in this or any reasonable context is both not the creator and not serving the creator's intentions but instead either serving it's own or telling others to serve their own desires which then are be definition not the Creator's. The big distinction is between creatures in creation and the Creator outside creation. Once we see ourselves as created, we can easily see we may try to serve the end our Creator created for us, or rebel against that purpose and pursue our own ends. Just as the phrase "art for art's sake" is a lie, since art is meant to communicate something, me for my sake is a lie. We shouldn't pursue our own pleasures as if they are our purpose no matter how much our senses tell us we enjoy it because we were created for a purpose and we are not our own purpose.

Mozart was not in any of his compositions, Stradivarius was not a violin, and no United Auto Worker comes with the car you buy. The UAW member can enter and exit the car, but the UAW member is not "within" the car. Even when in a car, the UAW member is in the air within the car, on but not of the seats. Creation is made up of "creatures" who at best can rearrange things already created. This doesn't exclude the creator from entering and acting within creation in some manner, but it doesn't change that when we 'create' we are refashioning more than creating.

I enjoyed my time in college, I enjoy practicing guitar and chess and all sorts of things. There's no bad in those things, and there more to learn and explore in all of them the more I delve into them. They are inexhaustible and good, no harm comes from studying or working on any of them. A rollercoaster is fun, safe generally, and not bad even though the thrill of danger is the fun. It's not bad even though it feels like a care-free manner of hurling towards a violent death. No actual Freddy Kruger is needed to make it less banal. "Bad" need not apply for any gig.

Suffering we go through is often not just our own suffering directly but realizing when we may have harmed others. For me those are worse than stupid things I did to myself. I can laugh about stupid things I did to myself.
I once moved a terracotta planter for a friend while we were trying to get at an ant colony in his yard. I was swarmed by bees and stung 5 times before I knew what was going on. I was stung maybe 12 times before I could actually act on that knowing. My friend was spraying me down with garden hose to get the bees off me. I had so many beestings, they were stacked 3 high in some places. I laughed for maybe a half hour or more. But I've done things and let people down in ways I could never laugh about.
There's this idea of a "rightly formed mind" and it ties into the religious, well Christian or Catholic, idea of the "Logos". Logos is often translated as the Word, but it implies more the ordering of things or the grammar of reality. A rightly formed mind would have mastery over the senses that gives it information, and mastery over the range of information it gains through any means. It's how, for my own example, I very quickly "got" equilibrium in chemical reactions in school after having already learned aout equilibrium in stream orders in geomorphology even though the latter is much more abstract and the 2 concepts are not directly related at all. We pick up patterns and see if we can makes sense of things based on patterns we've already understood. Learning isn't all trial and error, mess up and make up and learn from it, because we have minds that can multiply what we learn from experiences.
We may or may not be on the same page, but if we're honestly pursuing truth and trying to match our behaviors to what is true we will probably end up on the same page or at least the same set of books. I mean I can study music and never look at Fux's counterpoint but it is in that set of books I can study.

1. Jonathan states he receives goodness from heaven. Er, Jesus says: "Give ... to God what is God's." So think he's got the taking and receiving the wrong way around.
2. "Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's" So if Satan does take over, shouldn't Christians just give in to them?
3. If Christians are going to fight this 'new Satanism', isn't that an act of rebellion and therefore an act of Satan - er, in accordance to Jonathan?
In summary - biblical Satanism, not this 'freedom/rebellion' recent man made ideology which stems from 'Paradise Lost', Milton, is getting human beings to turn away from God.
As Jesus says: Matthew 6:6, New International Version, "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." So a) You give your prayer to God. b) You do it in secret - why? c) Because your relationship with God is personal. It's just you and God. No war, no rebellion, just you freely giving to God.
You can also read the story of Job in the Bible - where Satan brings great suffering to Job to... To do what... Rebel? Or turn away from God? So the one place in the bible where Satan actually appears and somehow all he wants to do is get Job to turn away from God, not start a war or rebel or anything else...
Think poor old Jonathan is getting lost in modern day interpretations. Think he needs to read the bible again so he can get his relationship with God back on track.

Satanism is pure and simple narcissism. The devil was a cherub angel and therefore one of the highest ranking. He fell from grace due to narcissism. He was unable able to love God wholly and others as himself, a violation of what Christ calls the greatest commandments, Mk12:29 "What are the greatest commandments."
Therefore, his followers, if you can call them that, since they're narcissists, would be in his image and speaking his language, lies.

This is just one guy's opinion. Listen to people who have had NDE's. Once you hear enough of them you hear basically the same story. They actually met God when they died. @@wilder11 There's definitely some common ground between the philosophy of the (modern version of) Satanism and the Christian depiction of Jesus Christ to be had there. Not that I believe Jesus ever literally existed in any physical historical sense, there's no contemporary evidence for that. There was however an early heretical sect of actual Christians who would have completely agreed with me on that one, which is quite interesting.
'Docetism, (from Greek dokein, “to seem”), Christian heresy and one of the earliest Christian sectarian doctrines, affirming that Christ did not have a real or natural body during his life on earth but only an apparent or phantom one.'
I would take what they believed to be something like though he didn't exist in any Earthly corporeal sense he was still real in some mystical experience for the people who in some way personally encountered God in a human form. It could have been the equivalent of a Native American 'vision quest' by people who had attained some greater level of spiritual attainment. The Roman Empire had a lot of these Mystery Cults such as Mithraism, Osiris-Dionysus and the Greek Zalmoxis. Jesus may have been the Jewish equivalent of those Greek and Roman/Greek Mystery cults as his story and teachings follow a very similar pattern or template.
As for Satan himself and the nature of his rebellion against God you could give the Yazhidi makeover to make something a bit more spiritually inspiring. To give you gist of that idea with that.
'Furthermore, the Yazidi story regarding Tawûsê Melek's rise to favor with God is almost identical to the story of the jinn Iblis in Islam, except that Yazidis revere Tawûsê Melek for refusing to submit to Adam, while Muslims believe that Iblis' refusal to submit caused him to fall out of Grace with God, and to later become Satan himself.
Tawûsê Melek is often identified by Muslims and Christians with Shaitan (Satan). Yazidis, however, believe Tawûsê Melek is not a source of evil or wickedness. They consider him to be the leader of the archangels, not a fallen angel. They are forbidden from speaking the name Shaitan. They also hold that the source of evil is in the heart and spirit of humans themselves, not in Tawûsê Melek.
You can keep him as the 'god of this world' but the world as a creation of God is 'very good' and a good God wouldn't really put an evil entity to rule over and torment us no good reason. The evil in the world you can put squarely on humans and their actions of their own freedom of will instead. There's Yin Yang kind of mystical duality to that. So this could definitely work as a really good fusion IMO, it does have some historical precedent and equivalents.
