Just discovered Metric a couple of months ago and I've hardly listened to anything else since. My favorite band right now and this is one of my favorite songs.
This is my favourite song of Metric's, but they didn't play it at the Electric Ballroom this year. :/ I absolutely love this band, Emily is a fantastic singer and great with the crowd. She's really fuuny. XD Brilliant!
@itahirl Me too, I agree. I want them to play some of their stuff from the Grow Up and Blow Away album too; especially Soft Rock Star and The Twist. :) I heard them play Live it Out live, it was right at the end of the night and they slowed it right down - it was fantastic. Well worth going to see them. ;)
I was watching this to try to figure out exactly how the guitarist plays the intro guitar part, and it had me hella confused at first. After a while I realized that the first few seconds of video are not synced up with the audio.
I'm a new Metric fan, but think I like them because they do use some cool harmonies. I think she is just singing an octive down untill 2:25 where she does the high harmony. I wonder if she sings this low just for a different sound, or has she a cold or perhaps a big concert comming up and is trying to save the voice.
You can burn your paper fingers in the ashtray Place your swollen lips on mine You can shave your heavy head in my carpeted hallway Sure for the first time you're wearing the right clothes Now take them off Meet me on the band room rug Tie my right hand to the ride You can take a live wire into the bath with you For a feeling you can't find You can entertain your childhood friends with a tour of the bedroom Laugh to erase the dirt on your mind Oh let's move out Meet me at the motel
Most underrated band on the planet.

Goddamnit I'd wished they'd done this at the Fillmore in Denver in 2016.

I think it would sound great with both just to fill out the sound. Either way, it's a great song - musically and lyrically.
Nice...
I really want to listen to Empty for this show!!!
Can anyone help?

That second verse...
@Pinkcreamo679 Not the first time I've heard that.
Ha, it's going to happen the same way it happened to Muse. Metric kicks major ass
I did, o boy.
my favorite part was when emily sang those great lyrics with her sultry voice
though it's a tough choice with the guitar parts
I she singing the low part of the Harmony? Haha...poor guy.
I would go straight for Emily...lol
Geez I want to marry Emily like right motherfucking now!

its good for the bandm, but I don´t really want them to explode, haha.
and it´s not about 'underground syndrome'lol
LOOOOL thats my old account.... turns out im actually gay
Sebadoh meets Coldplay
I agree with you. But I guess Emily has a low stamina during concert because of different tone of her voice in every music that she wrote.
OMG at 2:11 TWO Emilys...
Ummmm.....yeah....that happens when you change chords. Sometimes it's unavoidable.
no
who the fuck is jojo?
:D
I sooo wish she was gay
Does it matter?!
In my dreams she is gay...with me.
