I think the monkey was in a failed relationship with the chicken, yet he wa still madly in love with her. At some point the chicken went out with a man named Max and Jack shot Max out if envy for his love, Toototabon. Then Detective Lynch gets him to nearly confess, infront of Toototabon no less. Just hope they didn't kill poor Jack at the end there.
No, Jack killed Toototaboon while they were having sex. The reason of all the confessionary was because of nobody imagine a relation between a Monkey and a Chicken, in the middle of everything Jack remember his ex and compares himself with a horse, maybe she left him because of sexual impotence, so Jack found love on another animal wich was smaller than him so he can plese her. At the the end of the short Jack had an hallucination with Toototaboon because of the guilt, so he run away and the detective kill him.

I showed my friend this short film. He's never seen any David Lynch film. He said he liked it and thinks everyone should see it, but also said it was the most fucking weird thing he's seen.
You know, to be honest, this story would seem so humoristic to people who watch it. such a hilarious, absurd short film. However, I found myself seeing a more than an unsettling funky story about a singing monkey; When I got a good look, it was so tragic, and could quite often make me feel sorry and emotional for him even if I didn't allow myself to knowingly observe that at first. so let's get this straight: We have a story about an 'imperfect' monkey with a criminal past who has lost his love- Toototabon, the chicken. This surreal and exaggerated situation, in which David Lynch puts us, could eventually lead us to find this monkey appealing, and relatable. Perhaps I believe that this is the artistic experiment or the question he holds for us- Can we relate to THIS? Happy birthday, master of ideas
I first saw the trailer and wondered, then I saw the movie and tried to figure out what I was watching, then I watched the movie again and just went along with it - absolutety loving it.
Chinese's new year relatives interrogation is much more intense than this. We even have gun-shot sounding of which is this movie lack when this 17min. ordeal has finally ended.
This is Film Noir at its best. Just a cop, a suspect, and a woman...simple formula for success. Throw in a beautiful song, and, well...you have GOLD. Funny, sad, and tragic!
