Personally I think the utopia’s design will be the one to age better because imo the zonda’s design looks more beautiful and less dated than the cc8s’s because it’s *supposed* to have that kind of “vibe”, and the utopia clearly has that same vibe and design imo
A lot of people seem to forget how the Huayra was initially received, following on from the Zonda. Many people thought the Huayra was fussy, ugly etc in comparison. But now we've all had a long time to digest and love the Huayra, it's now the Utopia that is getting the same reception as the Huayra did.
The reason I disliked the huarya was the color at first. I saw an exposed carbon and it's like a zonda it doesn't look like a new model tbh more a recycle project
@@apolloarts5412 i wouldn't say its hideous, simple minor changes would make this car look proper. It would still look older than the huayra, but the huayra is impossible to surpass.
I was very on the fence about it but then I thought……. The same was said about a lot of great classics. The Egg is like an incredible sport watch or a diver, the Utopia is like a limited highly detailed clear front and back cased mechanical watch. It will grow on you over time as it feels modern but already classic.
That's what I'm saying. I want to see some specs. Reminds me of the launch of the McLaren 720s. Was horrible in pictures and the launch spec was terrible. However it did grow on people and in person it looked significantly better. Im hoping pictures and videos aren't doing ot justice lol.
Wasn't blown away by the design like I expected to be. This is the new Pagani. It's supposed to drop your jaw on sight. Look at this then look at a Huayra BC. There is no comparison. Heck. You'd think the Huayra is the newer car on the outside.
later models are the jawdroppers, the first one is just a teaser. there are a lot of cars that look better than the base huayra but very few that look better than the roadster, bc or r. its going to be the same with the utopia.
This design really upsets me tbh. On one hand, I love the rear end and I love the side profile, particularly with the curved side splitter thing it has going on by both the front and rear wheel wells. The shape of the car overall has some beautiful flourishes and I think the execution of the tail lights is well done too. On the other hand, the border around theheadlights, visible leather door straps, overly decorative vent behind the front wheels, and absolute mess of a lower grill completely destroy any semblence of seamlessness to the body that previous Paganis did so well. And none of these over-designed graphic features feel very connected to each other either. They all feel kind of tacked on and the headlights look like something from 2010, giving the whole thing a bit of a "Pagani Parts Bin" vibe. It's like they had Michelangelo himself sculpt this gorgeous body and then hired a high school ametuers to do the graphic details and just told him to, "Fill in the blank space." It's a remarkably sexy design ruined by tacky details. :/
Couldn't have said it better honestly and the interior really upsets me as well. The rectangle in front of the passenger especially. It looks like they have spent so much time on every other squiggle on the rest of the car that they just gave up on that part.
I absolutely love Pagani. I admit I am not the biggest fan of this new model. However, I felt sort of the same when the Hyura was first showcased and it has completely grown on me, what a beautiful car. I suspect I will feel the same about this car in a few years.
I havent seen one in person, but ive beenon a youtube binge and yeah, these photos don't communicate the shape at all. The car looks really 2D in them. But when you can see the shape (lighting, moving camera etc), the design elements make sense and the car is absolutely beautiful
why don't nobody talk about the utter lack of technical innovations at Pagani since 1999 Bruh the CC850 has more innovations in the single car than Pagani and Bugatti combined in the last 20 years Koenigsegg should start charging $5m minimum in that case, because they are just as beautiful yet more exciting in every way
@@william_SMMA the point of Pagani isnt innovation. the point is obsessive details and the car as a piece of art as well as a machine. i agree Koenigsegg make more exciting cars, but Pagani are trying to make something more akin to fine art rather than an innovative and cutting edge car.
@Dr. WomenHateShortMen 🧐 they have a completely different target, performance and engines. Being Born in the same year doesnt mean nothing, Bugatti Is way older and Is still more comparable to the koenigsegg
@@notsanger lmao Until you realize Koenigsegg's interiors are more beautiful and luxurious than Pagani They also make their own engine compare to Pagani who uses an AMG engine, it doesn't get more bespoke and special than that
It's beautiful in every way. They combined the Huyara and the Zonda and hence the Utopia, and it's stunning. Keep in mind, this isn't made to do donuts in or drag race. It's for super rich to buy, admire, then sell or trade among other extremely rich people. There's no utility purpose for this car. This is not a Lamborghini.
There's something about that final close up at 9:20 that reminds me of the Batmobile from the 1960's tv show. I think I prefer the Huayra overall. And that newest Koenigsegg iteration! Wow, sometimes less is so much more impactful.
This car would look fantastic in 2005. Pagani really hasn't done much to it's design language, and while that is admirable, it's also stagnating to me. They don't try anything really new or interesting. They just recycle the same design, and tweak it slightly. The interior looks old fashioned, the headlights look dated, the grill is a little too wide, and odd looking. The Huayra was probably their best model.
It's more shocking that the fact that it took them , 12 yrs for a new model this is the result and , it looks like a zonda, add some huarya parts to it. And the interior reminds me of 1970s convertible car. It lowkey disappointing
That’s probably the point of the car. There’s a reason why the zonda is still considered one of h the best looking cars out there and that’s because of its future proof design. Personally I think the utopia has that same vibe and design, and by extension the huayra, so imo they’ll look like they’ve aged only a year after 10 years
@@fifteen8850 Nah, the car doesn't look timeless. It's already aged poorly, and it was just unveiled. It looks older than the Huayra that proceeds it. The reason Pagani hasn't really done much design wise is because they don't need to, they sell a small number of examples, and they don't have a massive overhead. I'm willing to bet the Utopia has most of it's underpinnings and chassis taken from the Huayra so development cost was likely quite low too. They make a few of them, sell them for millions, and cost on that profit. Pagani is easily the most underwhelming of the bigger bespoke designers because they take no risks. They don't do anything adventurous.
@@_all_around_us It's cause to me the design feels like they toke too much from the Zonda and their predecessor Huayra mash together with no real new elements. It's just too familiar.
@@gerogyzurkov2259 true, but it's more than that. Too many kitschy design elements plastered all over the car. It honestly looks like Horacio had no idea how to come up with a new design so he kept adding nonsense.
Cool video! I personally love the new utopia actually, I don’t know what it exactly is but I just love the organic design that you pointed out. It just hit that nail on the head of my personal taste. But I can definitely understand Why people don’t like it as much as the older ones.
I wonder how it would look in a different color and with some black or carbon fiber accents. I feel a little black would help break up the individual pieces more, like how the Huayra had carbon fiber around the grille and diffuser. Also, seeing you have to keep moving show-stealing cats away from the camera is always a joy when watching your videos.
Note: Pagani works directly with clients when It comes to designing new models too. They certainly have a niche that want this particular style, plus the whole design Is clearly retro. I agree that there's surely too much going on in some parts, but comparing It to the new koenigsegg Is totally wrong in my opinion. Pagani stands out because they make Cars to fully be works of art and pleasure of driving and attention to details and materials, people that buy Paganis want this, and i think they're one of the very few that can afford to deliver this. There's Always been tons of hypercar manufacturers that overall make the same 1000+hp car
Most of their customers have no clue what they want and what they'd like, and they'll like anything as long as it's expensive. It's sad but true that people who can afford these cars have the least ability to appreciate them.
In the space of about 2hrs I have gone from thinking meh, to thinking it is absolutely stunning, the more I see it the more I love it, must say tho, your 1980s American sedan style dashboard made me laugh because I couldn't quite think what it reminded me off but you nailed it 😂 maybe that will grow on me too
The interior reminds me more of the 70s than the 80s, that dark leather goes along well with the 70s moustaches of Charles Bronson, Tom Selleck and Burt Reynolds
To me it looks like a mix of the Zonda and the Huayra, but a mix like the Reventon was between the Murci and the Aventador, not smth new, just in the middle
I see a ton of critiques of this car, but for some reason i absolutely love this car. In my opinion its the best looking pagani to date. The Huayra was a bit bulbous for my liking, and the Zonda front end was a bit abrupt in terms of the frontward slope. The Utopia is RAD, I love how the "cockpit" is somehwat inset on the car, similar to the CGT. Hopefully ill see one in person one day
I feel like everyone doesn’t know what Pagani does as a car company. They just assume they are always pushing for the next leap in technology. Pagani is more so pushing for the next level of beauty in their own cars and I think that’s amazing.
The Utopia for the reasons you stated in your video, seems more like a step back especially compared to the Huayra and looks more like it belongs in the early 2000 or dare I say, early 90s even.
The design is just too retro. Maybe some kind of a two tone colour scheme would help. Definitely the front lights got to be changed. A good thing is that you'll instantly recognise as a Pagani
Pagani's attention to detail is amazing, but I think they focus on the details so much they don't get the basic ones (like the headlights, and maybe the shape) just right
I think this car's design is beautiful, and of course, very experimental, its unusual and needs some getting used to it but, but i dont think a car will ever look like this one and in a way it makes it beautiful to me.
I respect HP for not being forced down the path that all other hyper car manufacturers are doing with hybrid engines, ultra fast shifting automatic transmissions etc. Koenigsegg is the only other hypercar company to offer a manual but with the automatic all in one, and I feel like car companies now are too scared to go back to ways of driving people still love like a manual. At end of the day Pagani produces unique cars which they then build on over the years like the roadster or the R version. I do know the utopia was heavily tested in the wind tunnel so there is no doubt underneath the body work there is a lot of good things going on. Pagani is also my fav car brand in the world.
These were my exact thoughts about this car. I love art deco but some of its elements that found its way into this new Pagani seems tad out of place in conjunction with the rest of the car. And please don't get me wrong, I'm not here to bash Italian design, and I'm really pleased that manufacturers such as Pagani exist.
4:05 = specificly about this I don't think the roofline is typically pagani no more; the windshield is very different and therefore the angle of the windshield/door/roof looks very different, not to my taste . the cockpit looks a bit too much like a group C car like a 962...
The Koenigsegg is potentially more timeless, but for me it does lack the artfulness of the Pagani. What struck me about the Utopia is that it looks out of date already, and that why I love it. It seems to me that the Utopia is purposely dated. It’s brand new and has all of the newest building techniques, but it harkens back to the 90s with a touch of 1920s modernized. If I told a non car person this was built in the 90s they’ed probably believe me and that is the point of the design. My guess is they centered the design language around the era when every super car had a manual bc this is currently the only, and likely the last manual hypercar.
They saw the CC850 and thought; "I can do that too!" Joking aside.. Utopia makes the Huayra look like a real piece of art. This one is way too confusing, and almost like a japanese mod kit for Huayra. There's circles, ellipses, rectangles, ovals, angles, it has everything!
I do agree that the cc850’s design is timeless (I mean they’ve used that design for like 2 decades already lol) but something about the utopia has this *vintage Italian* design that’s just as attractive. Also I don’t really see much “emotion” within the cc850’s lines especially compared to the utopia. Imo it’s “too” simple to do that, but I still think it’s a beautiful car.
There is different kinds of beauty, the koenig has a very harmonic and well executed design, its near perfect but its bland at the end of the day, very swedish. This in the other hand feels like the other side of the spectrum, lacks execution and has too much emotion.
I think the GMA T.33 is also a good comparison, as it was inspired by 60’s Italian cars. But like the CC850 that car also has a very timeless, clean design. Something which cannot be said about the Pagani.
Before I start this video and read the comments on the car from anyone else's perspective, I just want to say that I am stunned, touched and engulfed by this car. It cannot be described by or be broken down into its individual elements, like its looks or its performance, because that would be missing the point of it as a whole, complete being. Like two entangled particles in the world of quantum physics, the different aspects aren't meant to be observed as or considered to be separate, they are one and the same thing. This, I think, is an object that serves no lesser function than to be read as a poem, to be seen as a pure expression of its creators' thoughts, to be a piece of art that is experienced by all senses. It is meant to be the utmost essence and yet the furthest evolution of the automobile.
And with this new release, the vanilla Huayra is still the best Pagani for me. This new Utopia seems like a case of lost direction from Pagani. I think they are leaning toward art-inspired supercar builder more than ever, but imo, their execution is not that successful. Some elements are a bit over done. I get it if the same is done on a luxury cars like Rolls-Royce and Bentley alike, but not so much for a supercar. And the biggest design fail to me would be the interior. This will sound brutal, but it's like a rushed, unfinished homework.
When I first saw it, I thought it was a bit fussy. Then I took a step back and saw the curve of the windscreen, and the canopy style of the roof, and how all the fussy components look like they're floating. For some reason it gives me mandalorian vibes, like space but retro. I think art deco is about right. I like it. I'd like to daily one, that would be outrageous.
This new Pagani looks like a restomod early 90's supercar... Not ugly but strange to see nowadays, I think it's gonna be remembered as a cool design in 10 or 20 years
I think the issue with this car is that they launched recently the Huayra Colalonga, and it's basically this car but with a Huayra design. That's why it looks even more like something we've seen.
I was very afraid to voice out my first impression because i think it looks…. Terrible. And saying a pagani looks terrible is abit heretical in the car community i find.
With this car’s design Pagani has essentially stated that it is not about creating something new every single time but creating something timeless and classic to be cherished for generations. I absolutely love it. Feels very organic and natural nevertheless very intricate. Tough to create a modern day hypercar that has a vintage feel to it. And the flowiness of the design makes it seem as it is one with nature and will simply glide through air. Beautiful!✨
This car is huayra R maden road legal. The rear clamshell is coming directly from R. That been said. I would prefer them to had keep the wrap around lights than making two new light pods. This design will mature. But I expected it to be a little bit to bed down.
It's like Horatio got all of his customers in one room and asked, "so what do you want for our next car?" and they replied, "a new, modernized Zonda". Et voila!
5:13 you said what i vould not find the words for. The whole car feels like its an 80s car, especially graphics. My take would be that this car was the original design idea of Mr Pagani when he was young.
5:10 THAT'S EXACTLY what I thought when I saw the interior, that part reminds me to old american cars but I thought about GTA interiors of regular cars, that rectangular design lol
extremely cheap also no LED lights, no dual clutch gearbox, no groundbreaking tech, dashboard that looks like it came out in 2005, no infotainment system I guarantee the Pagani Utopia cost less than $350k to make and they are selling it to multi-millionaires who sheep out for these overpriced cars and never have any balls to say what they actually think The 765LT is better than this $3m car in every way under the sun including looks/beauty
@@LBNMKRS nah it's expensive because of the Carbon but the price goes down because it doesn't have an infotainment system which is extremely expensive it also uses brakes, engines, headlights (which are super expensive to make also), gearboxes and basically everything else from other companies so that reduces the cost like I said, the new Pagani doesn't cost more than the 765LT to make and that cost $400k including profit margins
a friend of mine just bought one, was invited o buy it. He sold it a week later for double the price. He still has to keep the car for at least 1 year as per contract with Pagani...but it's sad such cars will never be driven but just collected :(
I actually agree with you , the glove box area doesn't look right and I had the seem thought about it. I'm being very critical as much as you are, but i would still buy it
It looks like this weird japanese sports car "Mitsuoka Orochi" done right. Completely agree with the ironic fact that performance and tech oriented Koenigsegg created much more refined, pleasant and timeless desing than design and art oriented Pagani.
Tbh the design features I want to change the most are Exterior: the headlights (dual HL instead of quad HL) and then either change or remove the two lower "scoops" either side in the front grille. Swap out the wheels (I understand they are functional) for something else) Interior: while each individual component is beautifully sculpted and finished, I feel they clash when all added together because of the shine (learn which parts need to standout or recede) Overall just a bit too "busy" or slightly over styled. I prefer the Huyra
You didn't mention the codalunga, that was shown at goodwood. Its a big improvement on that! The codalunga also had a very dated looking interior as well. Nevermind when I get the 2.5M in spare cash I have many other hypercars to choose from!
I think this car looks way better than that Huayra ever did at any point in time. I see it as a course correction in design. Just gorgeous and timeless.
Bruh, wtf was Pagani thinking with Utopia. The first word that came to my mind was "yuck!" They can do so much better. Like Zonda and Hyuara.... Chef's kiss!

the rear looks amazing and the newheadligts aswell, hated the old huayra lights. always wanted a mix between the zonda and huayra aswell. not much i dislike with this car i always exclude interior because ive never seen an interior that stuck out and was like yo thats cool besides the mk4 supra with the jet cockpit idea but even that that looked bland since it was 1 color.
Front and side look mature, elegant and refreshing. Just fantastic! Same with the roof and the rounded, organic window shapes, fitting smoothly in the drivers compartment. However, the rear just doesn't seem right to me. The ellipse cutting into the tail light housing leaves behind a messy, shapeless frame. On top of that, there's these proportionally small tail lights sitting inside of them creating an even more oddly shaped leftover space. It's the combination of shapes and lines here that don't seem very coherent. Also because from the side, the bodywork seems to show some sort of kink near the taillight housing, making the overall bodywork direction at the rear of the car now pointing upwards look a little confusing.
Honestly I don't know nothing about cars, but I found out this model a few days ago and I think it is the most beautiful car I have ever seen. I think that even for Pagani, who is about the art and design of the cars over anything else, this Utopia is focused on design. And I think that is perfectly valid and great, although not everyone loves all art.
I think this reflects what is inside Horacios’s mind and the essence of what a car should be to him. Art and performance. Comparing it with koenisseg’s designs feels like comparing an ultramodern smartwatch to a collectors analog swiss wristwatch with visible mechanism.
Something I’ve always appreciated about Paganis is that they look very sleek, but also sharp, almost like a blade. Not like a combat knife such as a Lamborghini, but more like a ninja/samurai katana. It’s elegant while also looking sharp, and I guess the artsiness of the design also plays into that for me. Quite personally, I prefer the Huayra, but I still love this new Utopia. It pulls off that same aesthetic of elegant sharpness for me
My first impression? Exterior: (Zonda+Huayra) a bit melted under too much heat Interior: Jukebox? It might look better "in the carbon" (irl) though 🤔🤷🏿♂️
I'm really on the fence about the roofline, sometimes just too bubbly, sometimes it's pretty. But from personal experience the Italians are great at making cars that look far better in person. As much as I think the 458 is prettier, the f8 looks far better in person than I expected.
I fully agree with absolutely everything you said. From the questionable front end design, to the good looking rear three quarter view, the unusual boxy interior and then to the timeless beauty of the CC850. Agree, agree, agree. fully agreed i think the design will grow more on ppl as time goes on
Personally I think the utopia’s design will be the one to age better because imo the zonda’s design looks more beautiful and less dated than the cc8s’s because it’s *supposed* to have that kind of “vibe”, and the utopia clearly has that same vibe and design imo
The interior resembles a Spyker C8. Like almost identical with a hint of Huyara...

I think with more carbon around the front and rear bumper it will look more simple, we need to see some customer colours
I love it. I think for their brand they dont care about NEW. They make what they want, whether it looks old or new. It looks CLASSIC and timeless
Yeah but it didn't gave ugly straps or the fugly headlights
Yo creo que el color o más bien las combinaciones de colores le harán mucho bien
I would still prefer the Zonda, it’s the best pagani design in my opinion
I still hate Huayra but Utopia uglier than any hypercar so..
Zonda is best and timeless design for me

Definetly getting patek perpetual callendar or else f.p journe vibes from the pagani for sure. Koenigsegg is like a richard mille

The Launch Spec did the new Utopia Dirty!
A proper two-tone spec like other, earlier Pagani's would do this design justice.

Precisely my thoughts. Totally agree with you
later models are the jawdroppers, the first one is just a teaser. there are a lot of cars that look better than the base huayra but very few that look better than the roadster, bc or r. its going to be the same with the utopia.
Yeah the old man psgabi is showing his age
The more I look at it, the more I love it. Its an incredibly elegant piece of art in the form of a car
It's like they had Michelangelo himself sculpt this gorgeous body and then hired a high school ametuers to do the graphic details and just told him to, "Fill in the blank space."
It's a remarkably sexy design ruined by tacky details. :/
I agree, seems like they just failed with the design of mixing a Zonda with the Huayra
so you were gonna buy if it was up to your expectations?? Mr?
Couldn't have said it better honestly and the interior really upsets me as well. The rectangle in front of the passenger especially. It looks like they have spent so much time on every other squiggle on the rest of the car that they just gave up on that part.
I feel like they were going for a vintage meets modern kinda look tbh. I think they pulled it off well.
Although I generally prefer simpler lines, I actually like The Utopia a lot!

I think it's best to reserve judgement about this car until we see a real customer spec. Then I think it will come to life
why don't nobody talk about the utter lack of technical innovations at Pagani since 1999
Bruh the CC850 has more innovations in the single car than Pagani and Bugatti combined in the last 20 years
Koenigsegg should start charging $5m minimum in that case, because they are just as beautiful yet more exciting in every way
@@william_SMMA the point of Pagani isnt innovation. the point is obsessive details and the car as a piece of art as well as a machine. i agree Koenigsegg make more exciting cars, but Pagani are trying to make something more akin to fine art rather than an innovative and cutting edge car.
@@william_SMMA are you really comparing pagani and koenigsegg? They make totally different type of cars. I'd compare Pagani with DeTomaso
@Dr. WomenHateShortMen 🧐 they have a completely different target, performance and engines. Being Born in the same year doesnt mean nothing, Bugatti Is way older and Is still more comparable to the koenigsegg
@@notsanger lmao
Until you realize Koenigsegg's interiors are more beautiful and luxurious than Pagani
They also make their own engine compare to Pagani who uses an AMG engine, it doesn't get more bespoke and special than that
It's beautiful in every way.
Personally I think the utopia has that same vibe and design, and by extension the huayra, so imo they’ll look like they’ve aged only a year after 10 years
not just design too
the 765LT is a better car than this $3m "art piece" in every single way imaginable including beauty
@@fifteen8850 lol
this new Pagani looks outdated, that's what he meant
it looks like it was from 2005 in a bad way not a good way
@@fifteen8850 Nah, the car doesn't look timeless.
Maybe it’s the color, but this car looks older than the huayra.
Yeah it looks old but not in a cool way... It just looks old
Cause this reminds me of looks like a remade Zonda.
It looks dated because the Huayra is a cleaner design. Simple = timeless. The Utopia looks bad now and it will age horribly.
I like the blend of organic design and mechanical looking parts. It looks like a retro luxurious car and I love it !
@@derbigpr500 yeah ok i guess

The interior is a crime. It’s like someone took the most beautiful luxury watch and turned it into a wall clock
I like it but im not crazy about it (for now). Huayra w/ the Pachetto pack was the best of its run. The Zonda is at like a godlike unreachable level

A good thing is that you'll instantly recognise as a Pagani
facts, the cardboard color doesn't help
but it's fundamentally an uninspiring car
Meanwhile non car guys:
Aah yes. Very nice Lamborghini Chiron GTR Supra
Pagani's attention to detail is amazing, but I think they focus on the details so much they don't get the basic ones (like the headlights, and maybe the shape) just right
I actually really like the look of it, but I understand that people were expecting something a little more refreshing after 12 years
I think this car's design is beautiful, and of course, very experimental, its unusual and needs some getting used to it but, but i dont think a car will ever look like this one and in a way it makes it beautiful to me.
Speak ur mind before those fan boi start coming for u n cancel ur ass
4:05 = specificly about this I don't think the roofline is typically pagani no more; the windshield is very different and therefore the angle of the windshield/door/roof looks very different, not to my taste . the cockpit looks a bit too much like a group C car like a 962...
I never liked pagani before
But utopia is one of my favorite cars
LOL I posted earlier today that I thought the interior looked like a "late 70s American luxury car", so you're spot-on.
The interior of the Utopia is a clear tribute to Horacio's favorite childhood car, the 60s Jaguar E-type
Pagani is type of guy that many forget/doesn't know about, but the moment he's present, everybody subconsciously respect him and want to know.

I get the retro design but its too much details, slats and wings.
Cc850 is 3 times better than this design
gtfo, the CC850 is so much more beautiful than this pos.
@@10cent_not50 I disagree
Imagine a pagani named "PARADOX". Just sit on that name for a while and think about what they could do with that challenge.

They need to come with a update head light look to modernize it. It looks like a 2001 Zonda to me 🤷🏽♂️
It looks older than the Zonda & Huyara, especially from the side view. It’s as if they’re releasing a prequel.
And the flowiness of the design makes it seem as it is one with nature and will simply glide through air. Beautiful!✨

Exterior: (Zonda+Huayra) a bit melted under too much heat
Interior: Jukebox?
It might look better "in the carbon" (irl) though 🤔🤷🏿♂️

I like the analog look of the interior instead of those flat screens in all of the new vehicles... Timeless design!!!

I absolutely love it!
That's the best looking model they have. It looks great.

BTW - I can't not see the word 'Itopia' in the rear badge. After noticing the second upright of the letter 'U' also being the letter 't' it now looks like a spelling mistake! Just me?
