- Custom Color Palettes: shop.thepaintp... Neutral Ground SW 7568 is an awesome neutral paint color by Sherwin Williams, and even though it's a pretty safe option, you can really dress it up by surrounding it with some awesome color pairings! I'm a fan of it, and I hope you are too!

I painted my whole house in neutral ground. The color is pale yellow in most lighting and more flesh tone orange in darker rooms or at night. It is growing on me but I did not realize how much gold was used to achieve this color. It is mostly gold tint mixed with a bit of black if you look at the mix code.
Hey Bean, thanks for sharing your experience. Helpful to those considering this color!
I'm so surprised to hear this! It looks entirely different in my home. More of the green-beige complex cream that another paint expert I follow, categorizes it.
Neutral Ground is a beautiful color! Painted my bedroom with it. I chose Evergreen Fog as an accent wall behind the bed. Both colors look beautiful together! 😍
Our living room ceiling is Evergreen Fog (between the coffers) and we painted the walls conservative gray. It's casting too much blue undertones though, so we want to repaint the walls a tan. I was thinking neutral ground. Our foyer is Westhighland white though, so I'm wondering if there is not enough difference and should go with something more along the lines of Canvas Tan. Definitely need warmth as the living room is interior without a lot of natural light. Any thoughts?
Liked all these colors from subtle reddish undertones to outright rouge. Neutral ground has enough red to balance any yellow. Reddened Earth is a very appealing statement color. That lighter pink, Nearly Peach, seems to me like a color one might try to convince one's husband to accept in a more feminine bedroom or the main blush color in a princess apartment with gold and crystal bling touches. That said, I would enjoy using every one of these paint colors. Good job, James!
Good luck with the convincing Magenta lol!
Please do a video on colors for an entryway.
Preferably colors that are exciting and welcoming but not overwhelming or terrorizing.
Terrorizing is definitely off the table lol
Yes! Entryway colors please!
Looking for the perfect taupe? I would love a video on that. Thank you 🙏
Working on it Deneen! Thanks for the suggestion! BM Edgecomb Gray is a classic but also take a look at BM Upper West Side. For something lighter I also did a video on BM Cumulous cloud. ua-cam.com/video/ySRXMyxXiPY/v-deo.html
@@thepaintpeople thanks for the suggestions 🙏😁. I’m going to watch the link!
James, you never disappoint with your great videos! I want to share my experience with neutral ground which we had painted in our entire new build a couple months ago. If I had to do over I would NOT choose it. It is just too buttery yellow which is not the look I was going for. I was hoping for a light neutral and my husband did not want white so we settled on neutral ground. It shows no gray at all. What it does show in some light was a light buttery yellow. 😞Repainting was/is not an option. So neutral ground is staying. Do I love it? NO! Is it growing on me? Not really. I am hoping though that once my furniture and accessories are in things will look a little better. 🙏🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼🤞🏼 We did have an accent wall painted in SW Iron Ore - now there is an awesome color which adds a beautiful pizazz to the room it is painted in with neutral ground on the other 3 walls.
But thank you, James for your awesome videos!! 😍❤️👍🏻
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience Jillane. Helpful to those considering this color.
Sorry it did not work out for you. It was so difficult for me to chose a color. Glad the accent wall helped. I like Iron Ore as well. The color that I used in my primary bedroom was Natural Choice. You may like that better. It doesn't have the undertones like Neutral Ground.
SW neutral ground is my favorite main wall and trim color, and I like to pair it with SW Chatroom for a nice, 'earthy vibe.'
Hiya! Love the content! Will you please create a video about painting brick exterior houses? 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Crystal! Good suggestion!
Omg Nearly Peach is gorgeous. Love this!
Isn't it though? :)
Nice color! I’m starting to warm up to the graiges. Do you have a video for gray/greens? Is there a name for that? greenay? greay?
Xanadu. The color "xanadu" is a greenish-gray color whose name is derived from the Philodendron. Who knew lol.
I really like these colors. Good eye, James!
I tr-eye! sorry.
Love that this video came out at just the right time! I was considering using neutral ground on a project of mine and I love how it pairs with the other colors you mentioned. 🤗
Ooo serendipity!
Hi James, your videos are so interesting and informative. Would you consider doing one on SW Straw Harvest and Ivoire? Thank you.
Thank you so much Jacqueline! I appreciate you watching. I'll add those colors to the request list. :)
Always enjoy your take on mixing colours!! Love Reddened Earth. Might have to try it out lol. Thanks again for your informative videos!!
Nice, let us know how it goes!
I love to decorate with beige, white, black, and gray. Will this neutral ground color go with my decor? North facing house.
What Benjamin Moore color would be comparable to this one?
Hi Krista, have a look at Benjamin Moore White Sand / 964 / OC-10
What about neutral ground with evergreen fog in open concept?
Hi Brenda! Definitely! I think they pair nicely!
My main living areas are neutral ground. Not my favorite but i have honey oak cabinets and furniture and a husband who says you don't paint wood. Right now my doors are white but am looking for a dark color to paint them that would go with neutral ground. Trim is white. One bedroom is Colonnade gray, another interesting aqua and the bath is Quietude. Any suggestions would be appreciated?
This looks like a nice color, but as it stands- I’m still just looking for a color for my bathroom and this is not it! Thanks for the video, James.
One down 9 million to go lol.
Can you do more affinity colors like jute?
Love Jute! Thanks for the suggestion Michelle!
Can I make a Ripe Olive accent wall go with Neutral Ground?
As always colour has been nailed ❤️❤️❤️
Yesssss!! Thank you Mariana!!!
Thank you James so much for all your help!!!
My pleasure!
I just did my entire house SW modern gray, guest baths and laundry room, SW Sea Salt, and my white master bath, in SW City Loft. For the first time I love all of my colors, &my white trim and baseboards look beautiful. Love these tones…
Such a good feeling to feel good in your space Jazzy!
Thank you for sharing this great info! I love your videos and learn so much. My sticking point is the dreaded honey oak trim and pairing a paint that helps modernize my space. I’m wondering if SW Anew Gray is possibly an option or neutral ground might be better. Looking for a gray huge
Hi Kim, I'd definitely go Neutral Ground over Anew Gray. You definitely want to go very warm if you're trying to subdue the honey oak and have less of a stark contrast.
Thanks for the review. I recently ended up using this color in two of my bedrooms. It is a nice color. Lighting definitely affects the color. It's more creamy in a South facing room and more tan in a north facing room. Can you suggest a SW dark charcoal or dark navy color for an accent wall that works with it in a north facing room? Thanks
Hmm have you looked at SW Charcoal Blue? It'll look darker in a North Facing room so something to keep in mind.
@@thepaintpeople I haven't but I just looked at it online and I like it. Thank you
hmmm.. amazing grey may work for me. Thank you.
Let us know if it does!
Cousin James 💙💛
Sending love!
You rock James!
So do you Donna!
