Great in-depth review, just what I was looking for, on point and very detailed, I watched another reviewer that didn't figure out how to connect the controller to PC, I guess he wasn't on the right settings lol, also love the lighting and production quality of the videos, looking at your early videos now I see why 🤘

One of the most honest reviews on UA-cam! Subscribed! I have the Nacon Revaluation X Pro for Xbox, this one looks like they share a lot of same features. No update available until today for the Revaluation X Pro, and the controller is plagued by the issue that the controller will randomly disconnect when 3.5mm audio input is engaged. No help nor fix until today. I have 0 expectation for Nacon's update, just my bad experience with the company. This controller has no rumble for PS5 games and charges you 200 dollars, way overpriced for what it offers. Better stay with the DuakSense Edge at this price point. Great review, and I thank you for your work.
Hey that’s very interesting about the audio issues, I actually had a good experience with the audio, but only on low impedance headsets like the nova1x but the epos H6pro was a bit quieter for me. The lack of vibration for PS5 seems to be a Sony thing, as all other third party controllers don’t have that feature. Edge is definitely an amazing controller and if 4 back buttons isn’t a must then that one definitely makes sense. For me this controller is aimed at someone who needs one for fps multiplayer only, how many PlayStation users are in that category and decide to pick it up we’ll see. From the performance standpoint it’s a very good controller, and honestly they should bring the same package for Xbox, where it might not be wireless but will have full functionality in wired mode and possibly give us the longevity of Hall effect sticks. The 250hz locked polling rate is a bit of an oversight as well, coz that could’ve convinced a lot of pc gamers to pick this up. Thanks for sharing your experience bro! Much appreciated

This controller has been great. I’ve been using it since Monday after a lot of fine tuning. I can’t stress enough the importance of taking your time and properly tuning this controller to your needs. It really brings this controller to life.
Yes for sure the options given are amazing. I do wish for there to be a manual calibration option and one for a max deadzone in sensitivity+ mode, that’d be Hall effect done perfectly. I’m excited to see what the PDP Hall effect module coming for BFG be like, but that’s in early 2024. Thanks for sharing bro this’ll help me and others as well.
How's the controller size? Is it same size as regular ps5 controller? I sold the pdp victrix because it was significantly smaller than the regular controller

This has been the best comprehensive walkthrough for how to configure the controller. 80% of what you covered isn't covered by other youtubers. You even mentioned the tiny dead zones. Thanks to you I realize I may be able to get rid of the dead zones which just destroy my fine aiming but now with that off, it might actually be a viable controller. Gotta test it out.
Glad to see the full review out! I switched back to Sensitivity+ myself it does just feel better I think. I also noticed the sort of jitter on the right stick, it happens on mine as well in gamepad tester. Overall I am impressed with the full package from an FPS gamer perspective as well. I have owned several other pro controllers and this one so far seems the most promising. I have a dual sense edge, Scuf PS5, Aim Controller PS5, and a custom extreme rate kit controller. I may consider grabbing guilikit dual sense edge modules once they release those to test them out. But, the dual sense edge paddle response is just terrible , one of the big flaws with that controller.
I'd like to see Nacon add some features in the software like max deadzone control to play with. I'd also love an update that allows 500-1000hz over clocking, preferably 1000hz. If they could allow keyboard binds in PC mode that would be awesome, but I have a feeling that would be a stretch. When in PC mode the controller shows up as Xbox 360 in PS5 it shows as a playstation one.
I feel like any company releasing HE stick controllers should give a little more technical information about them to help with peoples expectations. Also to help them understand this is new territory and you will need to tune and get used to a new feeling. I also have a Hypr PS5 with HE sticks on order and I am almost regretting it because I know you won't be able to adjust them. So, I wonder if they are going to come tuned with a strict circle or raw input mode. Another reason I think companies need to have a better approach with educating people buying these controllers. At the end of the day if you can't adjust the HE sticks in a custom install like Hypr you may want to stick with a controller like Nacon or Gamesir that allows it.
The hypr controller has me intrigued a bit. I think we are going to have to move to HE sticks, specially when games are requiring so much movement from the sticks now. In the MW3 beta I had to be very aggressive with the right stick or the aim just didn’t catch up. Funny thing 2 days before the beta I played 5-6 games of vanguard and the aim didn’t feel like what it was in the beta. So I think MW3 will be wearing out some controllers pretty quickly. I’m thinking of making this one my main controller for PS5, but going back to normal sticks after this, man it takes a game or two to get used to them every time 😂
@@thephototechy Did you use Linear response curve in game for MW3?
I tried Linear in game with MW2 and it actually feels really good. I generally use dynamic. The one thing I noticed is Linear (Left Right up down) movements are very clean with HE sticks. I think that may be why Linear response curve feels really good. Even with dynamic curve in game, those movements are very good.
I switched back to Dynamic, not sure what I will keep. I have a feeling dynamic will be better in MW3 since you get the acceleration on the front end of your movement.
I wish I got to try this controller with MW3 so I could have some expectation. I guess I will get to play with that in the MW3 early campaign preview though just to test settings.
@@ItsBozzy hey so I tried dynamic in MW3 but there was also a setting for a multiplier for the response curve. I didn’t get a chance to play around a lot, but the aim just felt a bit disconnected to me in all modes. I even switched aim assist off to see if there were issues with that. I then tried vanguard but that’s on Xbox and aiming felt fine in linear and dynamic.
One thing could be my screen setup, as I have a cheap portable monitor I play on, so it could be input lag that’s playing a part.
Hall effect sticks feel the best to me in linear response curve on COD, and that’s true for G7se, snakebyte gamepad pro and the Nacon rev 5. I’m going to be making a video of different aim settings on the Nacon and some suggestions, as I do believe people will need to tinker a bit to get their perfect aim feel in this controller. I started testing the BFG now and I capfuls tell straight away how family it felt to me, something so can’t say for HE sticks, as they feel so different when you start playing on those.
@@thephototechy Interesting , I wonder if some of the acceleration issues could be solved by lowering the max deadzone in MW3 settings. I think with an inner deadzone of 0 , lowering the max deadzone you should still be able to make micro adjustments without over aiming. It may not even need to be moved a lot .90-.95 for the setting. You can also increase the acceleration by adding an inner deadzone to your right stick. Aim Assist kicks in around .05 on the right stick. I need MW3 to really experiment and dial all that stuff in, but some of these experiments can be run in MW2. You will still feel as though aim assist is stronger if you increase your inner deadzone in MW2 since it is less input to activate aim assist. Your thumb of course moves the same, but the game is only reading it from the start of your deadzone, which increases acceleration.
The thing with the new response curve multiplier is that I don't think you could go over 1.0 , so, it seems like you can't increase the curve only decrease it. This also may come into play though as another way to adjust the feeling if you lower the max deadzone.
I was reading higher dead zone in MW2 even creates a stronger Aim Assist. In my opinion you can generate that affect yourself to a degree. If you have good centering and strafe more than you actively aim with the right stick the aim assist locks on in MW2. Using a SAB-50 or something is a good way to see that in action, snapping and quick ADS with a small strafe pretty much head hunts. You just have to be within a reasonable distance to where you should be aiming.
That is another reason I think MW3 nerfed aim assist a bit, that affect was definitely muted in comparison to MW2. Which is a good thing at the end of the day it requires more skill. Something about MW3 just seemed zoomed out for me as well. Which of course made aiming harder when people are real far away. I saw some pro players talking about using independent aim for ARs because you get that zoomed in view with that.
So much to experiment with lol. I look forward to your tests.
hi bro did you have to do anything special to the sticks to make them good for mw3? it doesn’t feel as good as my edge controller and i have the sticks set to linear
I just got mine and i am surpised. It feels incredibly good and the software covers absolutly everything i wish for. So far i like it even more then the edge which was the best of all until now. 4 Back Buttons is just so much smoother.
Yes this is definitely an amazing controller. I’m currently testing the victrix BFG for review and it feels a bit small for my hands, I really like the Nacon’s feeling. I wish the Nacon had a stick calibration option, it’s something that’s really useful for potentiometer sticks and to me it’s kinda must, let’s see how the HE sticks perform with some serious use, it might be that we don’t even need to recalibrate them.
@@thephototechy I tested the Victrix before but send it back because it was so small. If i want to find something the Edge does better then it would be the seamingless integration and configuration within the PS5 system. It's a bit of work to find your perfect config for the Nacon and always switch back and forth between console and PC. But hey you won't do it that often.
@@obscureclouds8392 Does the Nacon have a similar size to the dualsense and the edge? The dualsense is too thick/tall for my hands and I'm looking for some alternatives. I've tried the razer wolverine, but it's as tall as the dualsense unfortunately.

@@Himiko371 yeah definitely 250hz, I checked on my laptop, but had to use a software called DS4 to get the xinput test to recognise the controller.

I don’t know what the pinned comments about. This is thee best put together guide/information video on this controller. Coming from running the ps5 edge for a year…. I actually like this controller more.
To add what you felt about the sensitivity on cod is the game itself same issue I had on all my controllers. I will say no matter what I do (hardwired, 0 dead zone (controller and game) but there’s this noticeable delay almost like hesitation with this controller on stick tip in.

Does this controller have stick sensitivity that you can be adjusted holding the back buttons? For example, turtle beach has pro aim and Razer Wolverine also has adjustable sensitivity that is achieved by holding down the back paddles. Basically if you’re moving really fast with any of the sticks, holding the back paddles immediately turns the sensitivity from like 10 to 5.
Good afternoon, please tell me, my touch pad does not work when I play games for PlayStation 4 on PlayStation 5, I tried switching the switch on both ps5 and PS4, but the touch pad still does not work. And if I play the same games on PlayStation 4, then the touch pad works. What kind of problem could this be?
thanks for the video. planning on buying a ps5 to play the RPG and solo games I've purchased on PS4 and the ones that are on PS5. I have a PC so I play shooters on there, and been trying to decide what controller I need. Before I was going to just buy the older Nacon Revolution Unlimited for the PS4, but decided to upgrade, and seeing this one is more catered to FPS I'm going to go with a different option like the Dualsense Edge.
Hey so for single player games I’d say the edge is definitely better, it’s actually a really good FPS controller as well. The Nacon is good if you need 4 back buttons, also the build quality feels amazing and hopefully will be very long lasting.

Some people say that the new sticks have a bigger Deadzone than the normal once.
So that you get the opposit of Stick drift (a To big deadzone)

I've had mine since last Thursday & love it so far. Not having Rumble on PS5 Mode doesn't bother me. I liked playing Fortnite, Realm Royale, Cyberpunk 2077 & RE4 remake with it ^^
Hey thanks for sharing bro, I usually trun the vibration off for multiplayer anyway, but I can see people having issues for single player games. It seems Sony has the haptic feedback locked to first patrty only currently. Microsoft with their first party wirless issue and Sony has this vibration issue, as gamers we suffer.

Ah man I’m very intrigued by that one, the wait time is a bit long though. I’m thinking reaching out to them and maybe get them to rush my order.
The reason I don’t buy third party converted pro controllers, is the aim feel is very much the like the standard controller. To me the slight differences in aim response is like a controller’s identity, so those Hall effect sticks looks like they’ll definitely feel different. I can’t promise exactly when but I’ll try my best to get that one. Thanks for the support bro!

Great review. Nothing is exaggerated and your explanation are easy for us to listen. How do you compare it with Victrix Pro BFG in terms of comfort and features though? Which one to go?
I’ve just started using the BFG as both were delivered a day apart. I’m a bit biased in favour of BFG as I’ve loved Gambit and the feel of favorunion’s thumbstick modules, but something is a bit different on BFG, maybe it’s the 125hz polling rate compared to gambit’s 250. The BFG’s back buttons are good but making my long fingers cramp a bit, I thought I’ll use them both under my middle finger, but they work best with ring finger and middle finger individually. Still very easy to get used to. The biggest thing BFG has is their recent announcement of releasing Hall effect modules next year that you and me can purchase, and I’m very hopeful they’ll be favorunion ones, but until we try them out at the 125hz polling rate of this controller, can’t say if that’ll be a hit or a miss. I’ll be making a detailed comparison of these 2 definitely, but if the BFG performs closer to the Gambit then you might find me favouring the BFG 😂

Where would you get grips for the upper paddles? Seems like that’s the most comfortable for me to use rather than the bottom ones.
Hey so I've used those trigger grips before that have a rubber texture to them. SO one idea is to get those and cut them to size and fit on the upper paddles. I haven't done it yet but thats what I'm thinking of doing.
I play apex legends and getting this controller for ps5. What settings would be good for best gameplay for apex legends
Nacon says on their official website (there are some reviews of the Unlimited Pro 5 and answers of Nacon) that they couldn’t implement the vibration to the PS5 mode in order to respect the Sony technical specifications requirements.
Might be a reason why no third party PS5 Pro Controller has vibration.
Yes I read that as well. I think Sony has the vibration feedback programmed with the haptic feedback modules instead of the more common vibration motors. Let’s see which third party if any would be able to make a controller able to support PS5 vibration feature, so far none has been able to do it.

I'm puzzled on trying to turn on my ps5 with this controller and I need to use my dualsense edge controller to turn on my computer and log in before I can use the this. Also I noticed a setting 2nd controller assist off/on. Am I doing something wrong? Also do this controller have a speaker? Otherwise seems a good controller.
Hey so apparently none of the third party controllers can turn the PS5 on, atleast BFG and this one can’t. If I switch the PlayStation one by pressing the button on the console, I can use the Nacon to log in, it might be if you press the button on dualsense, then PS5 needs you to use that controller to log in. The 2nd controller asssist option I’m not familiar with, where did you find this option? In PS5 menus or the Nacon app?

Man that one looks so good, I wish it was xbox compatible. PC players has so many amazing controllers available and now they get another one.
in your opinion which controller is smaller edge, victrix , or this nacon? I feel uncomfortable playing on a larger controller looking for one that feels closely like the ps4 controller
Hey definitely the victrix is the smallest, but I’m not gonna lie, that controller is feeling a bit strange to me. I’ve started using it properly today, coz that’s the one Im going to review next. There seems to be something different about the aim on that controller, gambit is by far my favourite to aim with on Xbox, but the BFG feels different. It could be that it’s a 125hz controller, where all the other controllers are 250hz. I’m going to try and play with the elite series 2 as that’s the only 125hz controller I have, and if that feels like BFG then it’s definitely due to the 125hz polling rate, and in that case I wouldn’t recommend the BFG at all, coz honestly it feels like a disadvantage.

Hey for COD I'm using linear response curve with 12-12 sensitivity and 1.35 ADS sensitivity with ADS transition at "Gradual", these work best for sensitivity+ settings on the controller. For 2042 after the recent update I'm using the standard response curve with 50 sensitivity and aim assists all at 100, unifor soldier aiming on with the coefficient set to 178 and zoom aim sensitivity to 90.
do i need original cable for controller to make it work or just normal usb c?
Just a quick question, when in PC mode, does this appear as a regular Xbox controller without needing to use any wrapper or emulation software?
Hey its recognised as Xbox controller, but the Xbox accessories app doesnt show it, like any other thrid party licenced xbox controller does. Still Xinout sees it and gamepad tester sees it as xbox controller.

Hey so the controller has a base deadzone which seems more than 7% and it’s a bit too much. FPS pro mode was added later and actually completely disabled this, so you can use your own preferred deadzone in game. I’ve made a video on the 0 deadzone update on my channel. Personally I think every controller should have 0 deadzone option so we can decide how much we need. Sensitivity plus makes the outer circle to a square and will give you higher register per increment but only in the diagonals, prior to 0 deadzone option I was using sensitivity plus myself, but with 0 deadzones I don’t need it.
How do I accesss the online website to create profiles? I’m so confused
Do you reccomend it for single player ps5 games if you don't care about the vibration(like me). My ps5 controller that came in the box just got stick drift after 3.5 years (there was an eyelash underneath the potentiometer hopefully it fixed it once I removed it), and I mainly want it for the magnetic sticks, since no stick drift(hopefully) there.
Hey for single player games even without vibration the edge would beat this one. Some games will have the adaptive trigger as part of the experience and all of the third party controllers don’t have that. This one is for competitive online play mainly, also edge might get HE modules as well.
@@thephototechy Thanks, I will think about getting the edge in case my stick drift continues I guess. Literally the only reason why I wanted this over the edge was the HE.
@@philanselmo2876 I know bro HE sticks with no potential stick drift is an amazing solution, but my G7se has developed some due to the centring spring being too loose. Hopefully as more and more modules come out the tech will get better. My hope is Sony releasing HE modules for edge using the favorunion modules, as Sony and favorunion have worked together in the past.

At 24:24 you talk about how playing with hall effect sticks for the first time feels different and then you mention resistance, but dont go into detail. Do you mind elaborating this point? Does it feel like there is less resistance? What would cause that 'disconnect' feeling in your opinion?
Hey good point, so the best way I can describe it as stopping the aim where you intend, on the normal sticks it’s kinda instinctive where you stop, I guess coz we’ve played on them for so long, on Hall effect it’s like you need to learn that part, like an acceleration of sorts. It’s something I’ve felt with all Hall effect controllers I’ve tried. Maybe it’s due to lack of friction internally on HE sticks. In all honesty once you get adjusted it’s not a big deal.
There is also the possibility of my screen setup, let’s say my cheap monitor has more input lag and the HE sticks are quicker then potentiometer and I find the timing a bit different with aiming. TBH I don’t know if they’ll ever be alike with the potentiometer sticks.

Hey! Awesome review. Super detailed. I got mine since few days and still cannot find my own favorite settings. I keep trying them all with different shafts, setting etc. I play mostly Warzone2 and for me it feels like the deadzone is pretty high. Is there any way to test that out properly? Maybe mine is defective in some way? Like when I want to make tiny aim adjustment it doesn't really move much but after applying more force to it, aim goes crazy and it's totally lost. On the other hand, when you play COD, do you often hit the outside end zone of left stick? Maybe it's just me being pretty noob haha. Oh btw, it's my fist Hall controller, I've been playing on original ps5 since the premiere and had a short rendezvous with Scuf Reflex FPS. Cheers!
Hey so Hall effect sticks are a bit different to normal sticks. For me the best response is with linear response setting in COD. In the Nacon app make sure to make the 2 deadzone number to 0, but there are some base level deadzones still there, though they are very minimal according to my tests. I’d say try the small shaft with sensitivity plus on and make sure the minimum deadzones in COD are set to 0, if you find you need to turn the sensitivity a lot higher then usual, then try reducing the max deadzone in COD, it’s usually at 99 so bring it to 90, see if that’s more suitable. The medium shaft with sensitivity plus off is also a very good option as well. One thing for sure turn off deadzones in Nacon app and keep the response curve to linear as well, I tried the other options they give and didn’t like them at all.
I’m currently working on the review of Victrix BFG so haven’t played with the Nacon for a good few days, but I did get it to a really good place response wise using the small shaft and sensitivity+ option.
Nice that you mentioned that the back paddles are not that good. I've tried this controller after the Victrix pro BFG and the paddles on the Revolution 5 are far inferior. It's very hard to feel them while playing
I am looking for a professional FPS gaming pad for PC/PS5 platforms. Which of these two would you choose ? Victrix Pro BFG or NACON Revolution 5 Pro .or maybe something else ?
Hey I originally wanted to make a video comparing the BFG against the Nacon, but instead I'll be making a vidoo soon as to why these should be skipped and the only real competitive controller on PS5 is the Edge. I got my own edge not long ago and finally had a chance to play alot with it on PS5, and I honestly believe these 2 don't work like th edge on PS5. I know Edge is a 1000hz as standard and that itself makes a huge difference but it feels like Sony is not letting third party controllers reach their full potential. Don't get me wrong these 2 are amazing amazing controllers but with SBMM making multiplayer games super competitive one should chose the best possible experience. To me its clear Sony wants that to be their own offering. Both of these companies have xbox controllers and they work really well on xbox, even better than elite series 2 in my opinion, but on PS5 trust me the edge is way ahead for aiming performance, so much so that I forced myself to play with only 2 back buttons controller.
Hey, Nacon released new update with setting called "FPS Pro mode". When it's active there is no deadzone at all. Before update NRP5 was super unresponsive for me but now... It's phenomenal!

Can i ask you a question please Techy..? I bought this controller due to the regular controllers drifting too much.. it never used to on PS4 but these PS5 one's drift every 4 months. I love the controller so far but my only concern is the charge time am i doing something wrong? It says power it off to obtain the fastest charge time possible but when the wire is in i still see the blue led ring and it's taking an absurd amount of time to charge. I don't see any video explaining it 🥲 If you could reply asap would be much appreciated
Hey bro so honestly I’ve only ever used it wired, so never had to charge. I’ve some some strange behaviour with different wires though, where the controller doesn’t work and only charges when used. Are you charging though PS5 with the supplied cable that came with Rev5?
@@thephototechy Yes, through the PS5 port using the cable it came with... no idea what to do or if it's just incredibly slow compared to the official sony one's I was used to.

So I’ve watch a lot of ur controller reviews. At this present time, what would you say is your favorite controller out of them all?
Ah man that’s such a difficult question to answer, as there are so many different factors and in my reviews I try and think about others use case as well. So let me put it this way, if I’m playing COD online with my younger brother and I’m not testing any controller for a review which one would I pick? Well on Xbox it’d be between Gambit and ROG Raikiri for smooth aiming 2 back buttons, and for 4 back buttons it’ll be the fusion pro 3. On PlayStation when play BF2042 I use the extreme rate rise remap 4 back button modified standard controller and for COD it’s the edge, but for the last week I’ve been using the Nacon Rev 5 pro on PS5 for both games. Started using the BFG yesterday and hoping to review that one next, will see if that one changes anything.
The controller that had me really excited and the first impressions were so amazing was the Razer wolverine V2 chroma, but the shorter grips and the victrix gambit made it so I didn’t spend enough time on that controller to learn it properly, I made an initial impressions video and never fully reviewed it. I’m thinking of spending some time on that one for Xbox to make a full review. Sorry I can’t give you one controller, but hope this might help.

Hey thanks bro! so a full manual should be releasing very soon. I can see this controller up for pre order in UK with 6 November delivery date, so hoping we should have the manual by then. Every thing shown in this video I kinda had to deduce myself. I’m not sure if the controller will have a turbo feature, as I’m currently testing Nacon’s revolution x and that one doesn’t seem to have a turbo feature either.

Hey so if you are talking about the longer grip handle in the palm, then Thrustmaster EswapS and X looks like would be a good option. All others feel very much like a standard Xbox controller, apart from Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma, which has its own feel with smaller palm grips.

I have this controller, but I'm waiting on the customization app for android to come out next year. So, until then, I'll remain using my Aim Controller.
Hey you can still use it in classic mode, just remember the raw mode is the default in classic mode, so if you find the stick too responsive, you can use the medium shaft insert to get the aim feeling a bit more stable, you might need to reduce the max deadzone in the game settings as well if you decide to do it. But I wish they’d released the controller with the app, I think Nacon found out about the Victrix’s plan to release Hall effect modules for BFG next year and they wanted their product out first.

Hey so this one has the old vibration system, which is very different to the PS5 adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, hence it doesn’t support vibration for PS5 games. Looking at all the third party controllers for PS5, none of them have this support, so looks like it’s a Sony first party protocol not open to anyone else, or no one can make a system good enough to get approved by Sony yet.
Tanks so much for the very detailed review. I'm looking for a pro controller for GPS (R6) on ps5, I have two dualsense with different stick tension (one must be older). I like soft stick tension as I am playing a style with very high sensitivity where small movement are harder with increased stick tension. I'm split between this product and the dualsense edge, I feel like the tension on the Nacon might fit my play style better. Do you find the tension of the sticks on the Nacon to be softer than the dualsense sticks?

Hey yes the tension on the Nacon is lighter, but Hall effect sticks feel hollow to use, they are missing that dampened feeling we are used to. It’s not a deal breaker and you get used to it very quickly, going back to barman sticks you definitely feel the difference and in my case I much prefer the normal sticks still 🤦🏽♂️. I’d say one thing if you are ok with only 2 back buttons, then definitely go for Edge. I’m currently playing with edge and Nacon, and I have to say Sony has done something on the edge where it really performs way better than Victrix BFG and Nacon for aim feel, and that connected to the aim sense. I was going to make a video of BFG vs Nacon but I’m thinking of including edge in that video now.

@@fabi_keiki hey so to me they lack that dampening of stopping exactly where you intend, it could be I’m so used to normal sticks but all HE sticks feel different to me. Their response shape in precision tester is also very different to normal sticks. In terms of deadzones the edge I think is better as there are none and you can see some drift at rest, so you can decide how much deadzone you need in game, with the Nacon you just have to get used to whatever they have decided to put at hardware level. If I had to guess I’d say it’s around 5% at base and then software adds some value which you can disable, but the initial 5% is there.

Hey the classic mode will have the base level deadzones also it’s only sensitivity plus mode. Even when we disable the deadzones through the software there are some base level deadzones, but they are atleast smaller. Yes you can use the controller but all the amazing options of changing the aim behaviour just wouldn’t be available to yo. So if you don’t like the sensitivity plus and the base level deadzone, you won’t be able to do anything. I’m still waiting for the app to come out, as I do find it a hassle connecting to pc to change stuff.

When I put the controller on linear with the software but on smth else in game options of the game itself, what does take preference?
Hey the game options will be applied after the Nacon software option. So imgaine different manufacturer controllers feel different to aim with, even with the same in game settings, thats because whatever the manufacturer chose the response to be, the game is using its response on top of that. Nacon and others are offering us the ability to change the base level response of the sticks and chose what we like in conjunction to our prefered in game settings.
I personally like the linear response curve setting in COD with sensitivity+ on in Nacon software. if you prefer dynamic in COD then you might want to turn the sensitivity+ off for yourself. One thing I did notice is anything other than linear in Nacon software didn't feel great to me. Hope this helps.

Hey bro you are most welcome! yes the sticks are very precise, I do have a slight calibration issue on the left one but aiming is really good. The difference is still there though, so I personally really like the feeling of potentiometer sticks, specially when they are in good calibration, hall effect sticks feel a bit hollow to me. Thankfully COD has linear response curve option and for me thats a must with hall effect, but that could be due to my cheap screen setup having more input lag.
Snakebyte's gamepad pro is definitely one of my favourites for xbox and I think I might main that one for MW3, they'e managed to get a hybrid of radial and raw response from their calibration, and I really enjoy using that controller. Nacon on the other hand is giving a lot of options for us to tinker with, I'll be making a video explaining all the different potential aim settings in a week or two.

Good review. Did you try using the 3.5mm audio jack to plug in a wired headset? Does the microphone on the headset work in that scenario? Mine does not. It is as if the microphone of the connected headset is not being recognized. I tried multiple wired headsets (Apple wired earbuds, Razer headset, HyperX Cloud 2) and the mic was not recognized on either of those. Therefore the mute button didnt have any effect. If I connect a true wireless headset directly to the controller - same thing. The mic does not work. If I connect a bluetooth headset via a separate dongle to the PS5, the mute button on the controller does not work either. I have to use the one on the headset itself, which is stupid. No other controller I tried has this issue. Can you verify this? Maybe I hav a faulty unit.
I contacted Nacon 2 weeks ago - no response. They have (always have) terrible customer service.

Hey man so I just tried the Epos H6 pro and Steel series Nova 1x and Nova pro, all worked perfectly and the mute button on the controller did mute the mic. Apple's old wired earbuds with 3.5mm didn't show the mic, but I have these other generic earbuds with a mic and they worked fine. I could see the input source as the controller with all of them apart from the apple ones. Hope this helps.
Yeah so the mute button only works for the headset connected to the 3.5mm port, all of my headsets and a generic earbuds called linklike worked perfectly with the mic, the old Apple 3.5mm earpods didn't show up in the mic options @@v1rg
@@thephototechy Hi, so i managed to get my hands on the Nacon this week. How did you connect your Steel series to the controller? I had both the controller and Headset on bluetooth using different dongles plugged into the PS5 and seemed to have lag from the controller.
I wasn't sure if we had a way to use the headset connected to the controller and then not have 2 dongles plugged in?
Odd question, but does the program allow you to set up a button as the turbo?
Hey no there isn’t any option for macros or turbo. I haven’t come across any first party licensed controller from Xbox and Sony which has this, I’m sure there must be some but none in my collection.

Hey the mute button is only for the headset connected to the controller and doesn’t do anything on ps5 system side, I believe it’s one of those Sony first party only features

Scuff offers more. This controller offer less.
Hey so I never used a scuff controller, and the new envision is PC only so I won’t be using that. Their reflex fps which is a modified dualsense looks really good to me. I think the standard dualsense and the aim response is really good. Nacon will give you the ability to try a different aim response with its sensitivity+ mode, but if the standard dualsense feels fine to you then you are not missing out on much. With scuff reflex they might have haptic feedback in the controller, Nacon won’t give you that, also Nacon won’t turn on the PS5 from off state and the mute button only muted the headset plugged in the controller.
For FPS performance I’d say scuff might edge ahead a bit for me, as HE sticks feel kinda hollow, it’s something you have to get used to, and going back and forth with normal sticks, you really start to notice the difference. Saying that we can get used to any type of aiming given some time.
The real question is longevity, if you’ve had stick drift issues before you might lean towards the Nacon. I’ve only ever had it on one controller PowerA enhanced and I was able to fix it myself. Nacon is giving 2 years warranty in EU and 1 year in US, I don’t know Scuff’s warranty as I’ve never used one, but scuff seems to be loved by alot of people. Personally I’ve never bought a third party modified 1st party controller, as I feel the aiming characteristics will be the same as standard, and I do like the fact other third party controllers differ in that regard from standard controllers, at least on Xbox platform they do. I do believe either of them will definitely give you an edge for fps, specially if you are not playing claw currently. Sorry I couldn’t give an exact choice, I do hope my suggestions help.

There is some missing part you will carry if any controller you would pick, and it gets hard to choose.
Scuf has no HE sticks, Nacon's response and linear thumb sticks I think is a little bit backward from Scuf. I have had a Nacon v2 before and I was very happy with it. Then for my ps5, I've got Hex gaming and it's really good but I need to update it for a better one. I think Nacon did good but not exclusively for fps games and it's only matters to me. I'm a total ps gamer but I really like xbox ergonomic style of controller over the ps and it's really made me think about Nacon.

Hey not currently, I’m testing the Xbox version which is a bit older and that one doesn’t have the macros either. So I don’t think a future firmware would add them either.
Great review. My only question is, would you reccomend for someone who hates the ps5 controller and finds it very uncomfortable. Ps5 triggers dont feel natural to pull I prefer xbox controllers and am looking for something that is cliser to that feel.
Hey so the whole reason I got a PS5 was because of the announcement of Victrix Pro BFG. So I’ve been with Xbox since the original Xbox and PS5 is my first ever PlayStation, saying that using the bumpers on the dualsense for aim and shoot isn’t that bad and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing since getting the PS5 at the start of this year. To get a bit more Xbox feeling the only options are BFG, Nacon 5 and the Razer wolverine V2 pro. Nacon has Hall effect sticks and some really good features, but victrix has just announced they are releasing their own Hall effect modules in 2024 so let’s see what they’ll perform like. I’m testing BFG now but haven’t played enough with it yet, still feeling strange coming back to potentiometer sticks after a good few days in the Nacon, honestly this different feeling is the worst thing about Hall effect but if I can commit to it entirely it’ll be fine, I just can’t leave all my other controllers 😂. I wish I could give you a definitive answer but right now I haven’t tried the Pro BFG properly but physically the BFG feels a lot closer to Xbox then the Nacon.

Hey the controller is performing really well, the only things I can see as improvements would be a recalibration option and a max outer deadzone option. I'd say if you are set for now then maybe wait to see what the hall effect module for the BFG is going to be like. PDP hve just announced it and it's coming in early 2024, I'll be covering it for sure as well. But if you need a controller before the end of the year, then this is the best and complete Hall effect controller I've tried so far.

Recently changed from console to pc, so I'm so used to controllers. Had a few pro controllers scuffs nacons and the last one was a elite 2. Enjoyed the elite but only problem was stick drift just when my warranty expired. So I'm looking at this nacon 5 pro or dualsence edge. Mostly for cod multiplayer. Still can't decide...😂
Bro between the edge and this any one would be an amzing controller. I'd say if you are fine with 2 back buttons or you'll only use 2 on the nacon, then edge makes more sense.

Hey one of the corners has a bit of a groove for you to be able to pull from, I just took it out very easily on mine, hope this helps.

Could you to some gyro tests? I'm playing fps/tps with gyro on PC and I'd love to see how it performs
Hey so I did try it on PS5 in COD and it works, it I don’t know exactly what makes a good gyro system, what would be a good test to show gyro aiming? I just enabled it to aim when ADS and I was able to move the aim and it felt very responsive to me.
@@thephototechy I do it by enabling ps controller support on Steam, then in desktop configuration set gyro as mouse, then google "mouse polling rate checker" and move the controller to check its polling rate

I haven’t tested it yet but I do feel it’s more than the standard controller. I’ll be doing some high speed screen recordings to test it in an upcoming video soon.

Hey bro thanks. The quality of the controller is honestly outstanding. But I’m about to make a video next week about how for PS5 the only pro controller is the edge. I don’t know what Sony is doing but the BFG and Nacon can’t compete against edge for aiming performance. I’ve checked dualsense edge is responding with 1000hz polling rate but that alone can’t be the thing. I think third party controllers on PS5 have an extra latency, something I can’t scientifically test but gaming wise, man the edge performs way better.
When I reviewed the controller we were still on MW2 and the TTk in that game was a lot quicker, also the right stick didn’t need that much input. I realised this difference when I started playing MW3, where we need a lot more input from the right stick. My honest advice would be to look at the edge if you need fps performance on PS5. It’s a shame as this one is probably the best feeling controller I have and I honestly though this was going to be my daily driver. Due to then performance difference I’m mainly playing on seriesx with thrustmaster EswapX as I do love 4 back buttons, which the edge is lacking.

Plus I really can't play on symmetrical joysticks since I play Rocket League and the left joystick is the one we use the most...
So you're making me hesitate even more. Then maybe it's better to wait for another asymmetrical controller to come out, but I think I'll wait a long time.

@@julienmltn5465 hey the issue for me is tracking a target in longer gun fights. I myself love asymmetrical sticks layout, hence got the Nacon and BFG. On its own Nacon feels ok, it’s only when trying against the edge I was surprised at the result.
For rocket league the sensitivity+ mode could be amazing, I’ve had a couple of comments from people saying being able to hit 100% easily really helps.

The back buttons will need adjusting to, but once you get used to them, man they work so well. I just wish the top two had some grip to them, I’m thinking of putting those trigger grips on them or something.

I specifically just ordered it to try out hall effect and to be able to use it on PS4 pro since both my dualshock 4 v2 and v1 has stick drift Ive fixed several times up until they seems unfixable just by cleaning inside. If someone at all have used this for PS4 I'm interested in some info on that. I'll find out how it will be using on mine in a week or two tho :)

Hello! I actually cancelled the order after digging deeper on the controller. I'm leaning more towards the symmetrical design as well. I will probably just wait more until there's a better controller that can be used for PS4 that has the symmetrical design. If I could use the dualsense on the PS4 I wouldnt even start looking. Dualsense Edge is tempting but already got 2 regular dualsense's due to the rubber got teared trying to put on some cheap thumb stick extenders. Unfortch. Also the price is at the range that the controller needs to tick more boxes on what I prefer. Like I dont really like having rear buttons that are a huge reason for many to buy these expensive ones. So a cheaper controller without that but the best quality on the sticks, triggers and face buttons is more important. I was using thrustmaster eswap pro for a while tho. I liked it in many ways. It replaced my dualsense for games like rocket league. Unfortunately I had to turn it in after the face buttons that arent modular started to malfunction and click on more than 1 at a time and hang up here and there. I already waited 2 weeks for them to send me new thumb sticks that started malfunction after only 2 months or so. I got that for free, so good on the support. just when the controller no longer is usable I took full refund to use in the shop I originally bought it. this is prolly a year ago and i still got funds to use in that shop. lol. Have you tried overclocking it on PS5 mode? Im curious if the latency changes on the PS5 mode.
Hey so in ps5 mode it’s not recognised by the overclock program nor the DS4 so I wan unstable to that.

How does the thumb sticks work for small precise movements? No jitter or anything? They looked to perform really well when you showed them in the video.
Also how was the battery time? They claim it’s 10 hours, what did you experience?
Currently looking to get this one or the dualsense edge as I’m sick of stick drift and looking for something to combat it. I play mostly single player games, don’t really care about rumble/vibration though. Which one would you recommend for me?
For single player games I’d say definitely the edge will be better. Nacon is only for competitive shooters in my opinion, also the edge is an amazing controller with a lot handy features like the function buttons.
Nacon’s sticks do perform good but wireless performance was not acceptable to me, the response time shows the same result on PC but playing on PS5 I didn’t like the wireless at all.
If you are fine with 2 back buttons then definitely get the edge. I started using the edge last night after playing the Nacon on MW3, and I have to say edge definitely performs better. The only thing Nacon has over edge is 4 back buttons. I’m actually now thinking of sacrificing 4 back buttons for 2 and using edge as my main controller on PS5. Nacon is an amazing controller and I’ll be making a detailed comparison against edge which is what I’ll be working towards now.
@@thephototechy yeah the Edge was my first choice and from further research and your tips I’m gonna go for the Edge. Only reason I had Nacon as a choice was for the hall effect sticks but I don’t think it’s worth sacrificing everything else just for them. Plus like you said in the video the hall effect sticks might feel a lot different to use and a lot of setup is needed to get them to feel nice. Worst case scenario I’ll just have to spend the 25 bucks for a replaceable stick module every time I get stick drift on the edge. Thanks again for the help :)
Is there no way to recalibrate the sticks?
Hey I haven’t found a way at all, I did reach out to Nacoc and they just sent me the quick start guide that I downloaded already from their support page. No mention of calibration any where. What has me concerned is how the Hall effect sticks will lose calibration, so a normal stick will start to have more input register when it loses that resolution, I hope it’s the same for HE sticks coz if they lose the max input then having no recalibration can be a problem. So far all my Hall effect controllers seems to have held up their calibrations but I haven’t used one more than 50-60 hours of game time.
As someone who’s had one of there cables. They are not high quality at all. The cable itself is good and fast but the braiding will come loose and it frays easy because of how rough the surface is. It gets caught in things slowly eroding the fibers.

hey brother. is there any specific calibration needed to do the sticks to make them feel like a dualsense edge? i just made the sticks linear. i don’t understand the stuff on the right side of the graph
Hey so linear works best specially if you are going to be using different response curve options from in game settings. The graph allows us to change how much movement registers how much input, for instance if you find the initial movement slow, you are able to increase the register amount for the 1st point, also decrease it if needed. For me personally the linear works best, I’ve used the sensitivity+ a lot as well and for some inputs it feels very snappy. I need to do more testing and might make a video with some suggestions for MW3 at some point. My advice would be to play around and see what feels the best, you should feel connected to your aim on screen. It’s a pain to setup on pc and check in PS5, I’m hoping the mobile app comes soon.
With haptic feedback and adaptive dual sense triggers this would have been the perfect controller
Yes for sure, but I have a feeling we won’t be seeing any third party controllers with those features on PS5, at least not for a long time. It feels like it’s a Sony first party thing and they haven’t opened it for third party manufacturers.

the controller can be overclocked the reason it doesn’t show up is because when you overclock a controller you are overlocking the usb port that it is connected to
Hey so on the same laptop I can overclock Victrix Gambit, PDP rematch and Thrustmaster EswapS and doing so reduce their xinput time from 4ms to 2ms. My understanding is the controllers that are locked at 250hz will not reduce the time even though you’ve overclocked the usb port.
