@semiLivedj Dude, he Recorded the best selling début album of all time, arguably one of the best albums of all time. He was named second only to Hendrix by the Rolling Stones. His style is quite a unique mix of blues and Hard Rock that was influenced by his childhood heroes. And hundreds have subsequently learned from Slash's style just as much as anyone else. Saying there are millions like him absurd. The fact he is a combination of 50yrs of guitar is a compliment, not an insult.

Look gibson hit a bad patch in the early 80`s when the whole Eddie Van halen thing took off . Everyone wanted a pointy headed guitar with a whammy bar and gibson did`nt have a model to cater for this they tried to lunch a few but failed miserably to match new luthier companies like Charvel , Ibanez guitars and many others that started upat the time even Gary Moore ditched his Paul for a Hammer . It was deeply uncool at the time to play a les paul when slash came along the became cool again .
