They had a great breakfast. I enjoyed their biscuits and gravy, hash browns, bacon, waffles, sausage and orange juice. I remember waking up wanting to eat. Garden cafe was on point.
Truly I appreciate the time you and your family takes away from your vacation to film these incredible videos. Incorporating the still shot photos with description is wonderful. Keep doing what you are doing cause it is great. Happy New Year.
Thank you- really appreciate the support! We really enjoy our cruise vacations and it's fun for us to share and provide helpful info for fellow cruisers. Have a wonderful New Year!
Always enjoy watch your cruise ships tour videos! Thank you for the informative and helpful video! The food look good! What’s your overall experience with the food and entertainment on the Norwegian Joy? 🙂
I was on the Norwegian Epic (February 2023) and there have been significant reductions in the menu items at breakfast. First, there was no English breakfast available at the buffet or in the MDR. Second, there was no Indian food for breakfast at all. That was a major disappointment as that was my breakfast of choice nearly every day on Celebrity. Also, I was surprised that there was no smoked salmon on the buffet and it was only available in the MDR. As much as Norwegian loves to preach about being so environmentally friendly, I was surprised to see so many "single service" items like boxed cereals, milk in cartons and the like. All of the coffee creamers were single serve as opposed to using a cream pitcher of a touchless cream dispenser.
Thanks for sharing your experience from the Epic! Yeah sounds like more cutbacks at NCL- also they're reducing the room cleaning to once a daily (to be more environmentally friendly they say), and Royal Caribbean will be doing the same as well.
Great post! We're heading to the Joy in a few months. Excited! One quick question - can you help explain the whole gratuity bit on NCL? I see the menu has a block where it states "20% will be added to your bill" I was under the impression that all food was complimentary - is this 20% only on the food you order in the specialty restaurants? Or is this 20% added to all food and drinks consumed on the ship?
Thank! Yeah that 20% gratuity you saw is for extra cost drinks from the bar or Starbucks. And yes if you go to a specialty restaurant they also tack on the 20% gratuity as well. Otherwise the daily $15 per person service charge covers the gratuity for pretty much everything else. So if you don't order anything from the bar- after you finish eating at the buffet, the Local, or any of the 3 main dining rooms you can just leave without having to sign off on any additional charge.
I think the top ones would be Holland America, Princess, Royal & Celebrity. NCL is pretty good too especially if you like Indian food- they had some really good ones on our Norwegian Joy cruise. Carnival's buffet is not as good, but they still had nice desserts, plus very good casual eats (Guy's Burgers, Pizza Pirate & Blue Iguana).
Thanks for the video. I love watching 'food porn'! One strange thing - and this is NOT a huge complaint because I love cruising and will never stop but, it's so strange to see a Starbucks coffee machine that charges per cup, but has a 5% tip added!? Really????? We have to tip a machine now, LOL...
Thank you! 🙏 Yes I agree that it doesn't seem right that you have to pay gratuity for that. The cruise line probably thinks that since a crew member works on it to replenish and maintain, that the tip is justified. I have a feeling that usage of the machine is covered by the drinks package, and the cruise line is making it not completely "free" to dissuade folks from drinking too many cups or something.
I think they might be for when they lower the lifeboat(s) and test to make sure they are working. Also to block some light that could come through between the lifeboats.
TravelTouristVideos Thats what i mean :p. But... why are there curtians?! Cuz the LifeBoats blocking the light.. and curtians arenused ro Block light etc? 😏
I have missed your food videos. Your descriptions, expressions, honest opinions are always spot on.
Thank you- truly appreciate that! 😊

Now we need all this after no more self serve
Which cruise line in your opinion offers the best quality buffet? Royal caribbean?carnival?ncl?????
Carnival food has gone down hill lately. Maybe it's just the carnival ships I've been on (triumph, dream, glory)

6:28 WHY CURTIANS ?!!??!?!?! THERE ARE A "LIFEBOAT" WHO BLOCKING FOR THE SUN!

Yup I don't think those curtains are being used that often. The lifeboats are doing double-duty there while resting 😉
@@TravelTouristVideos yes.. thats why i call it "waste of money" you know? Like you used your money for nothing (spild af penge).. -.-
