Amazing videos! Can i ask maybe a dumb question? I have a 1950s house with only a mainfloor washroom. I have room upstairs on our 2nd floor or in our unfinished basement to add a 2nd washroom. Is digging in the basement or going upstairs with plumbing cheaper? Thank you!!

Typically less guess work on how to configure a second story bath. Tough sometimes to tell how things will be under slab. Really depends on where your main stack is 👍

I’m curious if you have ever worked with tile redi walls? I’m wondering if I need to get water proof membrane and do the same as you did on that seam? It doesn’t say it in my instructions but I’m worried about the lack of waterproofing using just the tubes they provide.
My last question would be, when I removed my tub it looks like the previous owners added another layer of subfloor I assume to try and level it more so there is a decent sized drop from the rest of the subfloor but where the tub was sitting it is level would this affect the shower pan I’m going to install or should I get all the subfloor flush before continuing?
Thank you in advance, first house at 19 and doing a full flip and want to make sure I’m doing it right.

That's awesome. 19 starting out on a full remodel 👊 You'll be so far ahead of many others with what you'll learn! I have not tried tile redi wall panels. Actually didn't realize they had them. It looks a lot like other sealant type foam board installations. I'm sure its the same kind of polysealant others like go board, hydroban board, & others. I would feel pretty comfortable with it. I've done a lot of go board with sealant & never seen an issue. As far as subfloor....It's tough to say what's the best course of action without seeing it. Consider joining my DIY Geek membership (one time payment thats it) you'll get all of my courses & can post images of project. I try to help out all members the best that I can 👍 bit.ly/3EZM1Em

Slacker! I think you could have installed the flooring stones quicker. ( rofl )
Love the channel! I would love to see a detailed video for your niche installed in this bathroom along with the associated prep. Grout lines were spot on! How do you make that happen as well as how much forgiveness is there for installing the niche. Perhaps a trade secret but very interested in learning more.
    Thanks!

Shower head shouldn't be pointing at the door. That's super annoying trying to turn the shower on and you have to get inside and close the door so you don't shoot water all over the rest of the bathroom
