Worth pointing out that the Canbus Function Extender Plus from Swedesolutions will do a lot of the lighting tweaks via software (for example my approach lighting includes dipped beam, fog and reverse lights and comes on automatically when it’s dark) as well as various other cool things such as disabling the DRLs, auto heated seats etc. Just in case someone is looking for those approach lighting tweaks without cutting wires etc.
Auto levelling shouldn’t make a difference on hills. The idea is that it keeps the headlights on the level regardless of how the car is loaded by measuring the difference in axle heights front/rear, this wouldn’t change if you were driving up hills 👍
A decent amount of premium cars come with dual fog lights, or at least in the UK they do, so thebelgian mod isn’t illegal or anything here. If anything it’s safer as more light output.
Otherwise great video as ever, thanks for all you do for the community 👊🏻
I would say do an interior lighting video next but... :D

I had put this video together before seeing what you had done with the SwedeSolutions tool. Definitely a worthwhile investment; I am pinning your comment to the top.
My autolevel has always adjusted itself on hills, but perhaps that's just part of the autolevel not working properly.
Thanks for all your contributions to the community as well!

I was told that in Europe, Xenons are requied to adjust to prevent blinding oncomming drivers. When I lowered my old Audi A8, I remade the top brackets to match the pre-lowered position of the sensor arms. You can shorten the vertical link or move the upper bracket. RC car adjustable links are a good source of parts.

I enjoyed your light mod video. I had my DRL disabled when I bought the car, 0 for off as intended. Regarding the prefacelift not having rear lower reflectors, the north American market have added reflectors built into the upper portion of the taillights whereas world markets just an empty space at the top.

I went to upgrade the front fogs on my 2007 C30, the plastic covers (unlike the ultra easy headlight units) were a nightmare to remove. Turned out i had bought the wrong bulbs 🤦🏻‍♂️ However at least i got to clean out 13 years of bugs 😂 Put the original bulbs back in - still going strong after 1.3 decades. 😉🇸🇪

I agree that 6000K is bit too blue! I changed my original halogens to 6000K LED's since I saw a video where it was plug n play to do it for that specific bulb, but the light just disappears on wet conditions. If anyone has recommendations of 5000-5500K H7 LED's that will fit to the P1 headlight without modifying it, I'd appreciate the hint since I need to change these in some point.. The only good thing is that they're at least better than the H7s so I'm keeping them for now.

So...you've missed the license plate bulb housing????? How do you replace the housing???? Do you have an experience on this? I'm suspecting you do...your rear bumper looked out of kilter on the driver rear side...

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  3 роки тому

If you're trying to replace the housing, then it's best to pull the bumper. I have a video on this, it's quick and easy. If you're just replacing the bulbs, then two screws to remove the covers and you'll have easy bulb access.
How dare you accuse my bumper of being off kilter! It's not. ;) Just a common C30 alignment issue with where the hatch meets the bumper. Been that way since new, despite my level adjustments.

I can see that the projectors are modded. I’m planning to rewire my headlight assembly but I couldn’t remove the terminal because the turn signal reflector is blocking the way. By any chance, does removing the clear cover gives way to remove the reflectors?
    Thanks!

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken

There is no difference between the tail light assemblies, it's in the wiring. You just need to add the bulb and extend the wiring.
