Love these comparison videos. There are so many brand, emitters, battery types the side by sides are very helpful. That Armytek looks like a winner. Love sub lumen modes, the magnetic charging (without proprietary battery), the flood for edc, and high marks for durability. Emitter and color temp look great too 👍

That ThruNite TN12 Pro is incredible. The upgraded SFT-40 really does wonders in such a small reflector reaching 400m. I’ve been looking into picking up a light with that emitter and this video might of just convinced me to do it.

I've carried the Ace Beam for about 7-8 months everyday in my pocket and it should be noted that the button is absolutely an issue. On more than one instance, the light came on unawares to me in my pocket. I've resorted to carrying it with the battery cover one quarter turn loosened to prevent this happening.

I don't think that it would've been damaged like the one that you tested. However, it also cost considerably more. I have all in all about 150 flashlights. @@UrbanSurvivor Hi there!
I'm sorry that it's taken a while to reply.
However, life gets in the way.
My favourite brand is Wuben. This is only for the innovations that they apply to their flashlights. Olight do some very nice lights as well. However, I tend to think that they are over priced. Also I feel that when they introduce something new, they don't always fulfil the potential of their lights.
I have a few Olight flashlights and lamps, ranging from the Obulb to the marauder 2. My Wuben run from E6 to A9. I think that i got that right only having so many, i tend to forget. At 70yrs old my memory isn't working like it used to.
However, for pure quality, I think that Acebeam and JETBeam are the leaders in the ordinary flashlight world.
My collection also has a couple of Imalent lights, that I like very much but,
I think that for the most part Imalent stretch the boundaries of what's sensible to take the LED'S to. That's only my veiw of course. I also have Fenix, Astrolux, Mateminco, Wurkkos and Sofirn torches.
I'm sure that I've probably missed a couple there somewhere.
Most of my flashlights are just normal lights straight off of the shelf, as it were.
I think that I'll have to take a photo of them, if only for insurance purposes.
I hope that I haven't bored you with all that. However, you did sort of ask.

man, i how much i wished for an edc light to have an always blinking LED (similar to earlier gen phones), so that i can spot them if i ever dropped them. or at least a glow-in-the-dark button. this came from my own experience of losing my nitecore srt7gt during a night outing few years ago. the extra features it came with (uv light, red light and infinite brigthness adjust) was really handy for an 'EDC'. if i ever bought the armytek, i know i'd turn the moonlight mode all night long, thanks to its ridiculous runtime.
i have to say though, i did not expect to see the drop test. very nice addition to the segments. 👏possible to add deeper water submerge for ip67/68 ones?

As always nicely done comparison and I have to say that switching to a "reall" camera from your phone was a good choice, this upgrade really made a difference. The night time beam shots looks sooo much better.
    And now to the flashlights,
In my opinion te Acebeam and Armytek, both have the best beam pattern but C2 Pro definitely winn with the colour of the light and robust build.
So... If I get lucky, Armytek it is.
    Have a nice one.

If I still don't have 18650 flashlight I will buy the Wurkkos FC11 and Convoy S3 with SFT40 because the combined price of the two flashlights is only about $45 and that includes the battery.
If I don't have a charger for the Convoy S3 battery then I will add a Yonii USB C fast charger which sells for around $5 at the Convoy store.
Wurkkos FC11 for everyday use due to side switch, simple UI and high CRI.
While the Convoy S3 which is set to group 11 (100%, 20%, Strobe + Memory OFF) will be a backup flashlight that I use if I want to see something further in the dark or even use it as a self-defense tool.

I think good throwers have the ability to be impressive and fun to collect and use, but in the majority of practical settings it's really the good flooders that excel. But I don´t like that clip... the ends of that clip stick out from the flashlight and push in the pocket... it bruises me... :D This new one clip looks probably better, but i would like rather double clip, which will be hidden in that narrower part of flashlight.

Thats awesome! Aside from the pocket clip how is that old armytek holding up for you? Ive only juat started getting into them in the past year or so but so far they are quickly becoming one of my favorite brands.

@@UrbanSurvivor I am really satisfied with that, but found interesting informations about overheating of this models.
Just find .....Armytek Prime C2 Pro v3 Warm review (XHP35 HD, 18650).......on the budgetlightforum website
I am not profesional, have only few flashlights to compare, but if it´s really true with that lens, then I hope Armytek will deal with that in a future :D Otherwise I still like that and I am not using turbo modes much, so overheating is not big problem.

Nice video. With so many sizes, batteries, etc. hard to figure which one to choose. Looking for a self defense flashlight, that’s small yet powerful enough to temporarily impair an assailant. Also, is it best to go with certain battery or rechargeable?

    • @UrbanSurvivor
      @UrbanSurvivor  2 роки тому +3

Hey Alex! Thanks for the comment! Yeah theres a lot of choices but I would typically recommend a 14500/AA light for pocket carry or an 18650 light which is going to be a bit larger but offer higher outputs and longer runtimes. Sofirn makes a lot of great lights and thats where I would start. The sp35 from sofirn is a great all around light. Also like the sc31t and the sp10 pro. I typically recommend staying away from lights with built in batterier because when they die they are useless so go with something with rechargeable/ replaceable batteries. I should do a video to showing people who are new to flashlights where to start lol. Thanks for the idea. Anyways watch a few of my videos and you can easily go down the rabbit hole lol

@@UrbanSurvivor I just ordered the Sp10 pro based on your advice. Both the sp35 and sc31 seem similar in specs other than battery size. Which one do you prefer?

    • @UrbanSurvivor
      @UrbanSurvivor  2 роки тому +1

@@Alex-oy6wb awesome! I am sure you will like it. A lot of people really like the sp35 but if you like the idea of a large tail switch that might be easier to access quicker the sc31t had a tactical tail switch which might be more useful for self defense.

@@UrbanSurvivor thinking of getting the fwaa as well because I think you mentioned it produces 1400 lumen on turbo. But details on their website doesn’t specify? For blinding an assailant is lumen better than candela or vice versa?

@@Alex-oy6wb Based on my personal experiment at 9 am trying to walk towards the flashlight without closing my eyes using the strobe mode on the Sofirn IF25A and Convoy S21A with SFT40 candela is much more effective.
At that time the weather was sunny and I lived at the equator, but in a small room with brightly colored walls the Sofirn IF25a is much more distracting not only to the attacker but also to everyone in the room because the reflection of the light looks much brighter.
