I was amazed, that a 36v power mower was able, to cut wet weeds and grass (Johnson grass) with ease! My toro time master will not mulch thick grass set low. Great demo! I have Makita ( 36v- 16" chain saw, blower, trimmer, and 24" 18v hedge trimmer with rotating handle) love them. Great vid! X Jersey guy from East Tenn.👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@Tool Boss. Thanks for the demo of your Makita mower. That mower is really impressive. And to run on two 5.0 AH batteries! So if you're on Makita's battery platform, no need to buy the Ego if you have to go electric. Question. Is it easy to keep the deck clean between cuttings for different customers? Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
That looks like an LXT model...commercial grade...Makita has a serious interest in the commercial market so its no surprise it's a tank...with 14 gauge steel deck no less. Don't get hung up on volts folks...it's only a part of the equation. The main triangle is watts, amps,volts...each keeping a relationship between the other two. The other big intangible folks overlook...battery design and quality. Makita knows how to produce maximum juice at 18 volts. Other companies...not as well. Milwaukee does as well...but they make you pay through the nose for it...whereas Makita is very reasonable. Nice video...really shows the power.
Do you know if it’s safe to pressure wash this makita mower? I like to keep my OPE new looking and being able to wash and get them wet is kind of a big deal for me.
For grass that high remove the mulch plug and prop open the back hatch with a two foot broom handel and have on the side discharge so the mower can cut crazy long grass and prevent so much grass clippings plugging up .
I really want to get this mower......currently available with 4 batteries and a dual charger from Home Depot for $699. I have the 36v string trimmer and absolutely love it.
Wow. I ordered one and the packaging was very poor. The assembly parts were apparently in a paper like bag. The packaging was damaged and some of the parts from the bag were in the box but not enough for assembly so I was unable to even try the mower. This mower weighs 106 pounds...consider this if you want to return it. And yes, I called Makita. Makita customer service was not interested in helping me with the missing parts. I didn’t see any parts list in the box, but that could have fallen out the hole in the box during shipping. I have been using Makita tools for literally decades, but this mower convinced me to go in a different direction.
Maybe it was a return? I got one last week and the few parts (just a few bolts) were in a plastic, sealed bag. Weight of mower is 88lbs, or 93lbs without batteries and without bag. It is very heavy, though. Run time is awful on this mower in suboptimal conditions, but build quality is good.
I love love love my EGO but I might want to get this also. Looks like a beast and I need another one with my new company I just bought. I have five BobCat but need a couple of battery also. Thx BOSS... u ROCK!!!
I was referring to the first bit. The thigh high grass is pretty nutty lol. I had to cut a lady’s back yard that looked like that once and the gas pushers we used kept cutting out. This is quite an accomplishment by Makita
"30-35 minutes with the 5's". Not in my experience. I have this mower. Try 20 in good conditions. I've drained a pair of brand new batteries in as little as 8 minutes mowing wet grass with self propulsion on. Trimming 1-1.5" in damp grass I get around 15 minutes on a pair of batteries. And that's with the self-propulsion slowing as the batteries drain. The motor + self propel is too much for these batteries. They just can't keep the volts up as the pack starts to drain.
Please take this mower apart and show us how big the sweet ass ~brushless~ motor is. I'm sure I am speaking for all of your viewers when I say, WE GOTS TO KNOW!
Boss is killing it with the white mid calf’s. Doing work
Easy to spot ticks with them......
BEAST MODE!
All I could picture was the eco system, under the grass, running for its life with a slightly off timed screaming “ITS MAKITA”

My commercial Toro Turf Master would not cut that grass that good.
Boss man protecting those ankles from tick bites. Smart move 👍
👍👍👍and weedwacker grass 😉
Things a beast!!! 🥇🏆
Best mower i have seen
Love the mower.. I need that.
If Milwaukee doesn't come out with one by next year, I'm going to go with that Makita. That is a bad boy!
It Will never be as good as this mower
TOOL BOSS why is that .
Just bought one today from Home Depot!! But the newer version is just an aluminum deck, which I don't need to pay the extra money for.
Good video plenty of power @Tool Boss
Typical Makita top quality! And the fact that you can use your 18 volt batteries is key!
Now that's impressive!
👍👍👍😉
boss really has me watching lawn mowing videos when I don't even have a lawn.
😉😉🤣🤣

Yea very easy...as you can see from video didn't clean once ...did that on purpose to show it still cut with deck loaded with wet grass 👍
That really good test. I going get one .
🙏🙏🙏👍👍

You can defenitly hear the ramp up over the large grass @Tool Boss

Yea just don't go crazy ..
Morning Boss, I see already hitting it hard.
👍👍👍
Is this much better than the xml03? I'm just curious because I want to get one , but idk if the extra money on this one is worth it.
For grass that high remove the mulch plug and prop open the back hatch with a two foot broom handel and have on the side discharge so the mower can cut crazy long grass and prevent so much grass clippings plugging up .
Plus throw away that flimsy plastic chute and open the side discharge with a bungee cord..
That yard looks like more weeds then grass so its a weed lawn right not a grass lawn? @Tool Boss
Is this worth buying?? Cause I do lawns and with the price of gas at 5.54 a gallon I am gonna say yes run that and the ⛽ mowers
I just bought two of these mowers and all the their lawn care tools.
We're do you live. I wanna move next door and borrow them. 🥴
I really want to get this mower......currently available with 4 batteries and a dual charger from Home Depot for $699. I have the 36v string trimmer and absolutely love it.
My $ 3,000.00 Toro commercial Turf Master would not cut that grass that good.
Did u sharpen the blade when u first got it
Wow didn't realize that was grass I thought it was a bunch of weeds @Tool Boss

Im sure 👍👍👌
What model is this? Thnx
I love love love my EGO but I might want to get this also. Looks like a beast and I need another one with my new company I just bought. I have five BobCat but need a couple of battery also. Thx BOSS... u ROCK!!!

one person bought the Dewalt one.... :) i just got this for $720 CND buck with two batteries
Dlm 462?
Yo Boss! You having (hope so) a terrific Tuesday?
👍👍👍
The grass must be hella moist lol. It’s not even trying to discharge. It’s probably too thick to discharge properly anyway though
I was referring to the first bit. The thigh high grass is pretty nutty lol. I had to cut a lady’s back yard that looked like that once and the gas pushers we used kept cutting out. This is quite an accomplishment by Makita
Yes very wet ..tried filming at higher resolution but still can't tell how tall and wet it is
The chute is clogged
TOOL BOSS oh I can feel and smell how wet it is lol.
I was all set to get this mower and then I read that the handle doesn't fold down! wtf :-(
wtf kinda grass is that? The weed variety?
🍻🍺👌👍🤙
That is not grass, that is a weed lot! Still impressive but not a fine mulching blade.
Boss, try it on zoysia grass, I bet it won’t make it!
Not a popular grass up these ways
