At first I shed a tear, but then I couldn't stop laughing at how quickly that stuffed dog got fired. Nothing beats a real pooch! :)
I promise you the girl still have the stuffed dog in her bed when she sleep. It may not be as important in the moment but the stuffed dog will always remind her of that day.

You should have shown the first few seconds of the original video.
Originally, she was holding a stuffed dog toy, and her parents asked her what her Christmas wish was, and she said she wanted the dog toy to be real, and then they swapped out the toy with a real pup :)

Omg this is so sweet. At first site they both fell in love and I love to see people happy. I got a dog as a Christmas present and I was shaking and now I get to see someone else to have that happiness. Hank you so much to the parents for being kind like mine. That dog will fit right in at that home

My sister reacted the same way when she got a puppy at about the same age. A month later, the puppy ended up being old news and had bonded with Mom who was taking care of her 100%.

I love these videos where kids are surprised with a new puppy. It never matters what kind of pup, what color, what size. Each child, like this sweet little girl, thinks it's the cutest pup ever and instantly loves it.

Hope the pup is still loved as on that first day, now that she's grown up.
You know what sometimes happens when the kid realizes that with the pet comes a lot of unexpected responsibility. If that is the case and the other family members are not willing to step in... well, the shelters are full of these pets, and they are just the lucky ones. That's why I said "hope"; I wish the best for the pup AND the girl.
