I came back to lifting heel, easier turn, bit more distance, more consistency and more importantly hitting through is easier. Also seems to reduce pressure on my back.
Many thanks for an interesting video Ali, as a senior golfer its something that I do play around with. When the weather is colder I definitely find lifting my left heel in the back swing helps me to make a fuller turn and it is something that I would recommend to the over 60s. The main benefit is that it helps initiate the down swing with better weight transfer. Also when I lift my heel I notice that it effects my swing path and I tend to come more from the inside than I normally do.
The answer is yes, see Sam Sneed. The left heel lifts a little as a result of the left knee pointing behind the ball.
Tried lifting heel but find on downswing that I early extend causing blocked or just duffed shots!!!!
Why did the lifting of lead heel stop,i had a look at vintage swings mainly women and every single one of them lifted their lead heel and looked graceful too, keeping lead heel planted may give you more coil but there,s a downside to that.you will suffer in the long run with back problems,i don,t recall players of 50 or so years ago having injuries swinging a golf club.S/J/
It appears to me that you were more consistent when lifting the heel. You hit draws but they were all pretty close together.
so funny hardly any diff in heel lift between the two batches of swings.
I don't know that your numbers are relevant regardless of the results simply because raising your heel isn't something you normally do. I'm currently incorporating this into my swing and it's uncomfortable as I'm not used to it. The benefit is that I won't have any issue getting back to the right side pressure, increased flexibility and less strain on the body. For your results to be relevant I'd think you'd need to work on raising your heel for a longer period of time so it's comfortable. Otherwise, you know as well as I do, your results won't be representative of a fluid swing which you obviously have.
You wanna play golf beyond your 50s lift that heel
Would the heel up drill help if you struggle with pressure shift with the driver ?
Absolutely ✅✅
I gained 10mph with driver by lifting my heel
