It captures the story of Castlecomer from a vibrant coal mining community to the emerging picturesque north Kilkenny town. Hello! thought I would comment on 'The Lime Tree' photo. I have compared it with a photo That I took back in the early nineties, Was this 'Tommy Coogans' bar lounge then? I'm nearly certain that it is, I spent one evening there and slept in my vw van which I parked outside. My dad was born in 'Castlecomer' so I made the trip from uk Dublin, Galway and Castlecomer then Kilkenny and back. It was a happy pilgrimage with fair amounts of 'Guinness' I recall.
