I love vintage books. Taking several with me to the pool.
I have read so many glh books in my teens and twenties! She is a good writer! I’m not a huge romance reader now unless there’s an adventure along with it. But I recently read a few and also a biography of her. It was her goal to put the gospel in each story. These are perfect first romances for teen girls because of the faith content and they are squeaky clean! There is even a book with my name, Kerry!

How fun! I read my first Grace Livingston Hill 50 years ago (yikes!). It was a birthday gift and called The Patch of Blue. I have two old original copies of The Enchanted Barn and Spice Box----both are filled with cozy, domestic details regarding redecorating houses, so they're favorites. I think you'd enjoy all three. Enjoy your time away and thanks for sharing your book finds with us!

I love Grace Livingston Hill. My mother had a ton of her books and I read them years ago. My favorite was the Enchanted Barn. I have it on my kindle to reread but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

We stayed at Duke Mansion and oh my goodness, I didn't realized they had so many gardens on the property!

Beautiful video! I hope y'all had a fabulous trip. I can't remember all of the G.L.Hill books I read back in the day. I think the first one I read was Marigold because my mom gave me that one to get me started. If you ever find Cloudy Jewel be sure to get it. It is one of my favorites.

My mother loved GLH books. I must have gotten rid of 25 of them and an equal amount of Zane Gray.

We both loved it! I will say, though, I suggested going to these gardens to "inspire" my husband and it worked. 😂He came straight home and started planning a little extra flower garden at the back of our property. Mission accomplished lol.
