Mal has blossomed into one determined individual! Mat has truly guided her to a state of mind that focuses on being the Best She can be and not focus on beating Tia like how Annie thinks. Cheering you on Mal from Hawaii! GO MALLORY!💃💪
We're excited to watch Mal's journey this season, Angelica. Have you watch this video about her career so far? ua-cam.com/video/y8zZdp0fPcA/v-deo.html We think you'll like it!
Is this Mal's official video submission? Or does she have another? I hope she does, because if she doesn't, per your own rules, it needs to be invalidated because she leaves the frame of the video. Many times.
LOL at the people here slicing hairs about the standards, with BS like " she left the frame for 0.2 seconds " or " Victor's 225lbs front squats lack 0.5 millimeter of lockout " When this is actually one of the cleanest video of the two top scores standardwise I've seen on CF's channel, by people not named Mat/Rich/Tia. Let's not act as if it's another Josh Bridges 16.4 video LOLOLOL Especially since both easily qualified too. Rules like this are made to avoid having cheats (using loops etc) qualifying for semis and ridiculizing CF, and proper standard so average Joe's can compare their scores properly.
Victor first 9 Front squats had a LOT of no reps.. and you can see the different of him actually having hips and knees extended and open in the set of 15.. Don't even wanna get going on the muscle ups.. he is locked out and the rings are under his shoulders? So almost all of them are no reps.. Comical that there wasn't a major penalty or even a invalid score for this video.. Makes crossfit look so poor when they celebrate this stuff. But penalize other athletes over the smallest things.. but won't give penalties for such obvious stuff.
@@axelmaurel1852 the set 9 on the front squats have multiple no reps... and i'm sure he's more than capable. But if you don't see the difference between the heaviest set and the lighter sets then.. idk
This can't be real. You've celebrated these muscle ups. Yet, you've penalized other athletes? Your atrocious floor plans lead to someone getting penalized for squats from the front profile (your fault for having horrendous layouts that cannot possibly apply to every affiliate). Dani has repeatedly been horrible about performing reps but what? Leahy didn't follow any of the standards in the row workout. But we see Newbury get a 0. We see Danielle Brandon get penalized again. You are hosting a competition, your job is to provide the fairest outcome. 1. Stop it with the floor plans. Create standards that are easily upheld and piss off with the floor plans. They do not work. Repeatedly this is feedback. Even from top athletes/camps. YOU NEED TOP ATHLETES TO MARKET YOUR SPORT. 2. Consistent and clear communication. If you choose to continue using floor plans and weird movements and weights, LET US AFFILIATES KNOW WELL IN ADVANCE. Remember when the Open was about community and people could just work out? Wild. Affiliate owners, presumably, know how to space their gym and set up layouts. The fittest will still make it to the end. You can't game capacity, so someone putting their rower closer to the pullup bar is only going to help them win if they have the ability to display capacity anyway, and didn't you once upon a time use that as a ruling? Got ya. 3. Online competitions have to stop at the Open now. Maybe you have multiple layers of live competition. In reality, this would generate more revenue for you potentially if you continued sourcing sponsors that don't actually go hand in hand with the methodology (this is a roast but I at least understand why you do it). Stage 1, Open in affiliates. Make these workouts have meaning. Stage 2, create sub regions like the NCAA tournament and have "local" competitions that have live judges. You can still even use your stupid strength of field rating and athlete rankings to help sort out spots. Stage 3, semifinals in their current form. Live competition is the better way to secure that standards are being upheld. Give out information about stage 1 and 2 equipment and format around the release of the CrossFit Games. More chance for marketing. More chance for video exposure. Less chance for screwing your athletes and becoming Batmans target.
So by the judging course if an athlete leaves the frame of the video that score is invalid. Are we to assume then that that is not the truth if you set a record time on the workout or if you are one of the top athletes from previous years???
I don't know how CrossFit can validate Victor's video with a straight face. CrossFit is setting a terrible example for the community by glorifying sketchy reps.
Or O'Brien's, she leaves the frame of the video several times. Unless she has another angle, which I would hope so, but if she did, why would crossfit post a video that is invalid?
Jayson Hopper looks like he may be leaning back into the next RMU before completing full standard but hard to say from this angle and only half of him showing
@@jomlin143 yeah he has a weird squat, but he was talking about his lock out on his muscle ups. He's not really locking all the way out i'm surprised he got away with that many reps like that
@@mran4754 but not in a support position Read the rules. His hands are too wide and pushing away from rings when locking You have to be able to "pause" on top of the rings if needed - that guy would just fall down if he would pause in that terrible position
The accepted movement standards this year are shocking. If you have enough instagram followers you don’t have to lock any muscle ups out. Take a small penalty and then still get an elite time. The open is a money making scam that isn’t even a fair competition.

Great showing Mal and Victor! You both are fierce, spot-on and young. Can't wait to see how far you can take it! (Mat using crutches?! Heal up dude.)
Thanks so much for watching, Ron!

Good job to you too it’s amazing 😍❤️🔥
Is this really up to the standard CF? Victor seems to be cutting corners here and there. CFs judges fine with that?

Last 6 RMUs are clearly noreps. Not a vertical lock-out but a fake "push the rings far away" when going down
🦇🦇🦇 Bats for Victor squats and RMU.
