Paid $4.50 to see Mel play the street dance at Cowboy Homecoming in Pleasanton Texas, summer of 72. Kept that stub for 15 years or so, he's one of the all time greats for me.
I was in the opening band for Tillis, David Riley and the Western Hearts.

Kathy Jones he always had twin fiddles with him. He played at the V.F.W. in Jackson , Ms. in 1974 ( I believe it was). He had like a eight piece band with a horn section. He put on a great show! Unlike this junk that their putting out today!
Mel wrote this one while he was driving a cookie truck! 40+ years and it will still fill any Texas dance floor!

@Lilearlsinks This harmony is hard to match! You would have to go all the way back to Ray Price and Van Howard to even come close! This is one of my favorite songs from my high school years.
