Great song written by Tommy Collins up in Bakersfield, CA. I vaguely remember Tommy saying he originally was going to make the 1st line of the chorus ‘new patches on old britches’. Love the traditional twin fiddles with Mel’s excellent version. Thanks for posting real country music.

I think the country singer that came closest is George Strait. I love Mel Tillis, my favorite country singer of all time. Still, if anyone could fill the country greats of the past is has to be George Strait and Alan Jackson.
