Been a banjo player for 45 years.Started thinking about a dobro last year, wasn't sure. Then I came across your video,it just floored me.Two days before was my 101 year old Mother's funeral. This was her favorite song, and was played in her service.I made a call to Paul's shop and just by chance he had the same guitar they just took in on trade. He made your suggested upgrades and now it finally arrived.I'm not going to give up until I learn this, played in your style. It is the best I've came across.I just wanted to thank you and let you know how much four minutes of your time helped me.You should make more videos, you have a special gift.
Wow! What a very kind thing to say! That is so wonderful that your Mother lived that long! I'm so glad you were able to get a dobro! Keep practicing. I have a few more videos that I hope you enjoy. Thank you!
Lovely guitar and great playing, don’t undersell yourself. I have a standard Goldtone which came from Paul Beards shop(has the Paul Beard shop little sticker and date of set up inside), I was very fortunate with this as I got it got it 2nd hand in the UK and we get precious few decent square necks over here.
I think you should change your 1st and 2nd to heavier gauge strings, the ones you are using are to light, heavier ones would make a world of difference to this very nice guitar. Cheers.

Excellent version of the hymn. Interesting story about the Beard. They say a Dobro made of mahogany is the best kind to get, you have a gem there.
