I think she was always hot. Even in the early pictures and posters when she was chubby on smack and wearing the baby doll dresses, I couldn't get over how beautiful she was. I cannot BELIEVE this album is 20 years old. Time flies, bitches! If I have a favourite "hard rock" album, this is it - perfectly produced and mixed down to perfection. The lyrics to the songs Celebrity Skin and Awful are absolutely brilliant and still make me howl with laughter!
@Deenie Beenie Yes, before Kurt or Billy helped........their first album for example was horrible! Literally terrible lol. It sold because Courtney was Kurts wife. Then Kurt stepped in we have actual music on the second album with a distinct nirvana feel fronting Courtney's lyrics balanced out for music, which was a great combo. Second album......Kurt is gone Billy steps up and you get more great music with Courtney's lyrics again balanced out to make musical sense.......different style but still great. Last album.....no help from Kurt Or Billy and it's......well mediocre at best. There's maybe three ok songs and the rest are total dumpster fires like Holes first album lol. Courtney's strong but unbalanced lyrics and a lot of noise in the background that goes mostly nowhere. 33K sales speaks volumes. Bad assery isn't enough to make music. Still, all things considered Courtney's lyrics played a huge role in their success, they just weren't enough on their own as they never are. People want MUSIC.........not someone screaming in a mic.
God I wish she would tour again. I saw her 2 times in 2010 for Nobody's Daughter and the one in Philly was literally the best show I've ever been to. Idk if it was that great, or if it's because I love her so much, but I need to see her again live. I want to meet her so bad
This was the ballad to my first summer in adulthood. 18 in 2005. I'll never forget driving around with my friends with this on repeat. Gives me goosebumps to listen to it now how much it brings me back!
First song I learned to play on guitar back in 2016. I love riot girl. I wish I was a teen and not a kid in the 90’s. I remember back in 1998 at age 6 my 17-year-old neighbor was getting ready to go to a Hole concert and her 9-year-old sister and me were just so enthralled by her outfit choice and the music. We were too young to appreciate the music back then.
This song still makes me cry. God I remember staying up on ecstasy in my room and listening to this album over and over. I was young and dumb but the music was great. haha Just shut up your only 16 haha
