- Chase visits the ghost town of Fossil, Wyoming (and nearby Sublette, Wyoming), and by examining remaining structures and artifacts, he explains how once-thriving Old West railroad towns were eventually abandoned and left to decay. Chase is joined by local historians and preservationists Dean Sherman and Arvid Aase, who share their wealth of knowledge about the area's rich history.
Awesome video, Thanks! I was one of the group from Washington state that started the Fossil Basin Institute so it is great to see the progress being made. I'd like to invite you (and anyone else!) to come to Republic, WA and the Stonerose Interpretive Center to visit an Eocene lake bed with incredible preservation of leaves, insects and fish where the general public can dig and become Citizen Scientists
Gregg, thank you for your comment! & for being apart of founding the Fossil Basin Institute! the idea for the institute is a great one & we look forward to seeing its completion! if we get up to Washington state we will defiantly reach out, we had no idea their were Eocene fossils that far west! we love promoting citizen scientist, and showing the public how they can get involved! thank you for your work and comment!
