Cherry Blossoms, or Sakura in Japanese, bloom during spring in Japan. The pink flowers dot the cherry tree in an awe-inspiring show of brilliance. The colder the winter, the more brilliant the bloom. If you visit Japan during late March or early April, you are in for a treat. It is tradition to picnic under the cherry blossoms with family and/or friends. This is called hanami, or flower-viewing.
