Awesome project. My Dad and i are about to do 2 55' Chevy 2 door conversions so we each have one. We have watched all your conversion video's and I am impressed. I did not know you could cut and bend the post to fit to the door better, that is nice so we don't have to cut up our original 2 door doors. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
I have been watching for some time. To me this is hot rodding at its best. Everyone can buy a car finished (with enough money). It takes talent and drive to figure it out and change a car. I had a 56 in high school (74). Been looking for one for some time now and ran across this video. I thought it could be done, it actually looks pretty good. The only problem is now the 4 doors are also pretty high in price. Yours is running that makes it better also. Keep it up, I'm still looking, who knows what I will find.
Absolutely I couldn’t agree more sir! There is definitely know better feeling then building from nothing to make it into something. That in my mind is worth gold in itself. Thank you for your support and positivity there will be much more to come with this build.
Two doors is always better going to be cool. Love your 57 gasser I'm building a 55 gasser just did my front frame rails. Good luck on the 55 you got it no problem. Take care👍
And when most of the four doors have been converted, the prices of the remaining four doors will go through the roof and every collector will want one.
Not hating I promise... But WHY.... A 2 DR is a 2 dr A 4 DR is a 4 dr... Seems like a lot of work... I would NEVER buy a 2 dr made from a 4 dr.. I'd buy a REAL 2 DR... AN AWFUL LOT OF WORK..
@Neal E. Kaufman I agree with that to a certain point. The reason why is that I wanted to give it a try on the conversion. The car is my personal car and project. The two doors are harder to find now a days and very pricey. The work is the fun of the build. Anyone can go out and buy one of these cars finished if there pockets are deep enough. The satisfaction of building it is worth more to me at the end of the day. A much better appreciation VS buying one finished.
When you got more time than money and want a 2 dr its a viable option. I already have a 55 2 dr wagon. and i have a solid 56 more door. cant seen to sell it. I want $3000. So if it dont sell it will be converted. and I will tell any potential buyers it was a conversion.
