Her teacher and parents never wanted her to push her limits as a child and ruin her vocal chords, so they taught her to stay reserved in her effort to bet out the big notes -- and her pocket that she stayed in at that age is pure gold
How is it possible such a beautiful and complete voice comes out from her little mouth? Well, it must be a mix of a huge natural talent, a lot of work and passion for music. It's a delight to hear her. Thank you. 👏👋
Jackie has a very clear voice. All voices are made of lots of overtones and undertones. That's how we can recognize a person just by their voice. Hers is rare because when she sings, only about 2-3 sometimes 4 overtones are audible, but more than that, those extra tones are in major chord harmony with the note she is singing. That gives her voice a bright sound without any disharmony. Also, she can 'jump' an octave [or anywhere she wants] and hit THAT note dead on and hold it perfectly. That makes her very easy for me and many others to listen to without grinding our crowns down. Add to that the many large [and SMALL!] vocal effects she can add to a melody. When I listen to singers, if I can predict the note and the effect someone will sing next to a song, I get instantly bored and start listening to the arrangement, or switch to something/someone else. Jackie is always captivating.
Thank you for your reaction. Jackie's voice is indescribable, and most are left speechless in an attempt to define it. She was acknowledged a vocal prodigy at the time, because her singing voice was exceptionally mature for a child, with a certain depth and richness that one doesn't associate with a child's voice. It was natural and authentic, though some ignorantly criticized it as "contrived", "forced", "fake", etc. She had exceptional control of her voice, able to manipulate it in several ways (somewhat unconsciously) to achieve the "sound" she wants at any particular point in a song depending upon her interpretation. Her upper range is unusually pure, called "bell-tone" because of it's clarity which has been documented as "one-in-a-million". There is a distinct difference in tone form her lower register to her upper register which she is able to manipulate by transitioning into head voice seamlessly (unnoticeably) unlike most singers who's transition is an audible flip from chest to head voice (falsetto). She can go from contralto to lyric soprano within a single song, moving easily through her range and hitting the high notes effortlessly. She had a performance range of nearly 3 octaves and the gift of perfect relative pitch, never going off key from the beginning to the end of a song, even a cappella. All together, the effects of her unique vocal character, skill and purity of tone make her voice difficult to describe. Some common terms are, ethereal, magical, angelic, other-worldly, captivating, mesmerizing, enchanting......... She retained her signature vocal purity through her transition into adulthood as well as having increased her range, gained a more mellow lower register, and developed more subtle vocal control and finesse as she expanded into multiple genres through the years.

The best explanation I've ever heard. Thank you.

A beautiful young lady singing a beautiful song. There is video of her singing a song called Lovers, it really shows her talent.
