You have some great videos I’ve been watching for a couple years now. Please don’t assume because someone only wants to spend $1000 one is only getting into watches though…I’ve been fascinated with watches since I was a kid in the 70s, and while I don’t have the budget of Mr Wonderful, I enjoy a great value…your videos actually prompted me to purchase my first (non-smart) watch in over 10 years, and a brand I paid no attention to, the Citizen Fugu with green dial. I’ve been wearing it for the past month, and am extremely happy with this under $500US watch. Most of my other watches are Tissot (which, I also think can’t be beat for bang for the buck), and I think this Citizen might even be a better deal. Thanks for all your videos, I’ve definitely learned a lot watching them!!

If I had to start over again with 1000$, my first pick would be a Glycine Airman GMT: brilliant movement, etched in watch history and looking gorgeous along with a casual or dressed up outfit. Wait for a good promo and grab one, then spend the rest on a Citizen Promaster automatic diver's 200 titanium. Bought that one to be my beater watch but love it so much I wear it almost daily. Light, tough, beautiful... titanium for 300$. Regulated it, now runs at +-2sec/day. Same for the Glycine. For

Citizen Promaster Diver Orca! Underrated watch, so glad to see it! 200M WR, rotating bezel, eco drive, screw down crown, cool dial design, AND stunning lume on it as well. The orca’s spots (indices) and both the hour and min hands all illuminate. Only miss is it’s a mineral crystal and not sapphire, but all in all it’s a stellar watch, and I’m happy it’s my go to beater.

I guess I'm that Seiko nut. 5 of my 10 watches are Seiko. My SSK005, and SPRE43 are a pretty great "under 1000 dollar" Collection on their own. Altho If i didn't already have a black dial driver, I would have gotten the back GMT. I paid about 700 for them together, that leaves 300 for my Wired (a Seiko JDM brand) Solidity AGAM701. Any I'd says you'd have a really well rounded collection. ANd you've still got 100 bucks for some spare straps, which will fit all 3 of them!

Honestly, these videos showcase a pretty good mentality for a beginner to think about watches: Know your budget, and then think about what purpose each piece in your collection serves.
As someone who works in an office, I'd follow the "Maximizer" route: A beater like the Duro or a G-Shock, then go for something nice with the remainder of the budget.

Ordered a khaki auto with a nato strap recently. I think that and a tissot prx would be my two choices for under $1000.

Great video. Do this for $2,000 or $3,000 as well

Scurfa Diver One and Nivada Grenchen SuperAntarctic. That's pretty much all I need.

I'd definitely go for two CWCs, a classic G10 and one of their Quartz RN or SBS Divers.

I'd like to get a word in for Vostok as well in terms of attainability. They have some funky designs and are generally very diver oriented, but they also have some more reserved options as well and are basically impossible to beat for the money. For under 100 bucks at times you get an automatic movement and 200m of water resistance. Case sizes and designs are equally varied and should harbour something for every size and taste. As for the precision, specs say minus 20 to plus 60, but my two amphibias run at plus 15 and the other one at around +8 seconds a day, which I think is exceptional for the money. So if you want something robust, attainable and mechanical, you only need to spend double of the Casio Duro's price and you get exactly that.

@@wonderwatch2239 yeah I understand... I just like their watches too much not to and if I may play devil's advocate a bit, I don't think a purchase or two on meranom will substantially finance the Russian war effort. But I do very much understand why it has become rather quite in regards to that brand and I apologize if my advocacy for Vostok was in any way insensitive to anyone. I just really wanted to highlight the watches above all.

Add 50 to 100 to the budget and add a basic Gshock to any of these picks and you'll have the perfect 3 piece 1000 collection.
