Drought Tolerant Garden Tour | May 2024

- Join me for a colorful garden tour this May 2024 as I walk you through the garden which has been completely overtaken by flowers this month! Thanks to the winter rains, the garden is thriving with vibrant blooms, and many succulents are still looking lush.
This garden was created on an incredibly low-budget, but a lot of patience, so I love sharing the changes throughout the seasons. I'm now at the point of needing to thin out a lot of these plants and will hopefully pay it forward to the neighborhood, friends and family that helped me get started filling in this garden to begin with. I'm especially excited to see how the new hillside garden will develop, and I share it's current state as a wildflower super bloom full of California Poppies!

Thank you. I was so excited to see an update from you. I love your wide variety of low water plants! Trying to figure out how to spend less time hand watering in our sweltering heat.
Thanks so much! Watering can be such a chore, which is why I'm so glad we went with so much drought tolerant stuff. We always try to water in the evening so the water has time to actually soak into the ground rather than just evaporate in the heat.
I love that your video is"real" there are weeds, projects in motion and plants being moved around. We are planning a native garden in our front yard(already barren) and I welcome ideas such as yours. Thank you.
Yes! It's always an ongoing process... and the weeds are just non-stop this time of year. Native gardens are always a great idea, they can definitely be seasonal, so I've been learning how to keep my native plants looking good year-round, I need to get better about pruning things back!
I love that you utilize the space between the sidewalk and the road. People mostly just grow ant beds in those areas here.
I try to use all the space I can get. I had years of living in apartments with no garden, love taking advantage of all the space I can get.
I keep coming back to your garden tour videos all the time for inspiration! I miss living in california but hopefully i can bring some of these drought tolerant ideas to life in Texas :D
So beautiful, thank you for sharing ❤ I can't get enough of your garden, gorgeous and behold every succulent garden I have ever seen. And such an incredible inspiration for me ❤❤❤❤❤
