This tool is absolute genius !!! 🤩🤩🤩 I'll talk about it during my next live colouring, of course giving the link to your video. So if you receive French comments, it's normal. 😅 I thought I knew my Prismacolor by heart, but when I see how you classified the colours, I still learn something new. Thank you so much for giving this tool for free, Claire ! 💖💖💖

Hello Claire, I just discovered your colour chart thanks to "Barbara colour". It is true that colors can be perceived differently by everyone, but I think you have done a wonderful job! I was already looking for a colour chart who combines the Primacolor by family, and I foun it ! So thank you very much for your work and for the free chart. Kisses from Brussels.

Thank you so so much! Some of the colors I have struggled with make perfect sense now with your explanation. And I’m a little bit jealous about you still having some Karisma, mine are almost all gone now. And my favorite color as always been Parrot green as well, it is the only one i bought 3 of, for fear they might discontinue it, as they did with my most liked lavenders.

Thank you. You don't know how long I have been looking for this lol. I have a few changes but this did most of the legwork for me. It's the exact same concept I use for my pencils.. color by hue, then tone, then light to dark.. one after the other. It makes choosing a pencil extremely fast and easy, I seldom ever even glance at a swatch chart. It does take forever and a day though, especially with a large set, so very happy to have this to start from.

I happened upon your video and it's an absolute gem. I just finished rearranging my Prismas per your suggestions and will swatch the new order tomorrow. Thank you Claire for all the work you have done sorting out the Prismacolor pencils. I find that when moving around my pencils I discover new colors that I did not realize how beautiful or useful that color is. I appreciate how your chart is organized in color families and light to dark colors. The way you have them laid out you can begin coloring with the first color and keep adding the color next to it and use the darkest for shading.

I've tried to arrange my Prismacolors in various ways, but it never seemed to be quite right. I tried using a color blend chart used by another UA-camr that was arranged in sets of three, but it didn't really quite work for me. I think your chart might work for me--some colors I already have similarly arranged, but as you point out, there are some shades that don't seem to have an obvious place. As it is, I have a Love-Hate relationship with Prismacolors. They were my very first "professionalt" pencils--I started to use them in college , so maybe I've been using Prismacolors for more than least 40 years? They have one of most varied color selections out there, and of course, the creamy, pigmented cores are just gorgeous to work with. Until they start to break. And break. And break. And you sharpen it, and the whole core falls out. Then I hate them and swear I won't ever use them again! I noticed that every time Prismacolor changes companies, the quality control slips. Breakage CAN occur if you just drop these delicate pencils, but there is still issue with uneven cores, and cases that crack open etc. The core is a thinner than they used to be, too. I still have some Prismacolors, that are under "Berol Prismacolor" and the pencils are definitely thicker. But I still decide to forgive them because those colors!!! And of course, I have them ALL! I have other brands of colored pencil as well, and so my overall favorite tends to change according to my mood and what I'm coloring. Sorry for the rambling comment. Too much coffee.
Anyway, I love your channel, and really appreciate your tips and reviews! I hope you and your family have a very Happy New Year!

Thank you so much. Very good video. I tried few before and never pleased. The Prismacolor one is garbage. The last one I made was from a colorist here on UA-cam. I loved it but....My own last one is based on Munsell's theory, by family but still, I am not pleased.
After watching your video it really talked to me, I will make 1 or 2 corrections to suit me better.
I do agree with you the Electric blue is a kind of alien pencil between blue candle wax and a crayon. I really do not understand the need to make such a strange pencil.
Last year the 150 set came to such a low price that I could not resist, my biggest set was 60in the '50s + open stock to make more than 72. I used to buy mine on open stock at an art store close to my place. I keep a list of needed ones and the Electric blue one as a mention to never buy again.
Excuse me for that long chat, but I had to say it. Now back to work (:-) And TY Wishing you a better year.

I have been thinking about combining my different brands of wax pencils into one chart/order like this so they could be stored in a case and mixed and matched more easily. Thank you! 🙌 So helpful.
Could you perhaps share a file of the colored in chart? It would be useful when shopping for open stock Prismas, for those who don't have the complete set.
