I am an 80's guy and got my license in 1984, so I like the pentistar local the best because that was on all Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler cars of that time. I always liked the fake crystal pentistar found on the Chrysler Fifth Avenue from 81 to 89. Love your work.
So, I was doing some research for my channel: All Request History, and came across this video on Dodge. I have to say, I really like your content, your editing, your production, and your style. Maybe I'm being pretentions here, but I feel like our styles are similar? Of course I DID notice you have 148K subs! I have less than 500!? I'm just taking a leap of faith here and wondering if we can collaborate. You are clearly doing something I'm not, and better than me!? So, If nothing else, just know that a fellow creator admires your work!
Loved the Pentastar, not necessarily as a brand logo but as the corporate logo for Chrysler and Dodge. Reminds me of childhood. An awesome simple logo that succeeded of doing it's job by sticking in my head and being recognized as a logo of quality and better times.
Fun fact, the word "dependable" is in our directory because of Dodge. A journalist was trying to describe the new Dodges way back in the day so he came up with the word dependable. 💯
We had a 1953 Dodge Sedan. I recall the car and that by 1963 it was getting all rusted out but we kept it till 1965. It was so rusted my Dad had to put a 2 X 4 under the seat frame to stop it falling through the floor. Even though the car was all rusted that Ram ornament on the hood was as gleaming and shiny as the day the car was built. A great memory for me.
Another great video! I'm shocked that you don't get more views. I forward your videos on to friends usually. You're definitely a hidden treasure on UA-cam. Haha
Awesome video. If stellantis is going to replaced the hemis. They need to bring back the 5.2L & 5.9L magnum V8s to replaced the hemis & have the new gmet6 engine to go alongside it.
As much as I and so many other people would like to see that happen they would still pay a lot in fines to the EPA. Why do you think there making electric cars?
It's unfortunate with the US laws/regulations coming into action that we won't ever see it happen. They're effectively being forced to quit the hellcat on account of average mpg
Great history video. Can you do something similar for Chrysler, Plymouth and DeSoto? I do favor the Fratzog as that was what was on my Dad's 1964 Dodge Polara 500. The Ram is perfect for the trucks. Looks great on the tailgate of my 2020 Ram 2500 MegaCab!
If the brothers where methodist then second logo and the fourth can be related. Is a shame that this history evolution didn't approach it from that perspective, it clearly can explain many things... thanks though well done documentary.
@@MarspeedCars YES! OK Sub for Jeep Hurricane. I remember reading about it and it's twin engines back in 5th grade and begged my dad stop at every jeep store we passed to see it(not knowing it would never be made)
That Forward Look probably could have used a stylized “D” superimposed on the figure. Heheh, get an illuminated fratzog in the center console and call it the Fratz Capacitor. 😎
So the three pointed Dodge emblem is called the 'Fratzog'. Does the late 50's/early 60's Plymouth logo have a name? (The one with the delta wing spike pointed upwards on a tall rectangular, sometimes hexagonal, sometimes circular, background. While researching this I came across a 1960 Dodge Dart emblem with two tall chrome triangles flanking a center field of gold. This apparently was very short lived as the fratzog overshadowed it.
When I had my 2011 Charger I noticed it didn't have the red slashes in my grille logo, but now I have a 2012 charger and there is still no red slashes with my dodge grille logo lol
bro they have literally zero logo identity. KEEP ONE i was kinda starting to like the double red stripes and then they suddenly bring back the fratzog i think since dodge/ram are synonymous to so many people they should rely more on logotype than brand names for identity. -Rams head for trucks -Fratzog for cars (dodge branded)
Fratzog…… I daily drive a 1964 Dodge 440 …. 400 cu. Inch bored .40 over. BMW seats with crocodile interior, set up like an old Pro Stock…. Nobody knows what it is except old guys,… I’m OK with that.
That fratzog was also called the pentastar before the modern pentastar! It was never really called a fratzog the Dodge dealers always called it a pentastar! My father used to work for Dodge back in the 60s

Too many logos. The only thing that I give Ford credit for is sticking with their script logo. I have to laugh at GM's new logo with lower case letters. Symbolic of their downfall.
Call me nostalgic but the Ram Head is my personal favourite
Yes.
Same for me, that’s still a dodge in my mind
Absolutely. I even put it on my dodge dart and my 2020 charger
Agreed
I am with you and I do believe it was one their best logo, they need to get a better logo that can represent the brand

The rams head will always be my favorite a close second would be be the 5 point shield emblem
That fratzog emblem is my favorite. Ausome video by the way!
Yeah it’s pretty sweet I love it too! My favorite has to be the Ram until 2010, love seeing that on my Chargers 😂
Dude, I just love your KNOWLEDGE of all of this, it's so very refreshing! Thanks!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT OLD LOGOS AND PAST ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS. GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING.

This is false. English language has used this word since the 18th century. 🤡
@@frankpepe2079 You don't know what you are saying. But yes 18th century as in 1914ish, just after Dodge started mking cars!
@@Modine. 18th century means 1700s.
Excellent video, very informative
Keep up the good work!!!

All the V6's and all the V8's are on the chopping block and replaced by L4's and L6's brought to by the EU.
Dodge for life best brand in vehicles!!

I love the new logo , the logo and the slogan Grab Life By the Horns ! Hit It !
Very cool video. Well done. I subscribed. 👍
Great informative videos, keep it up brother!!
I love the ram hood ornament of the 90’s ram trucks
My favorite logo from dodge is the star shaped logo from the 80s to early Mid 90s.
I like the forward look logo
Logo number 8 was used for a number of ad's as well as on the brochures & the signs at the dealerships

1st S1apShoeS now Marspeed.. today is a good day.
Can you do a video on the ME-Four-Twelve? It would be interesting to hear your prospective.
Thanks for the support! I already have done an ME-412 vid but can see if I can do another one

First dodge was a 04 neon. Now I got a 17 charger. Personally dodge with 2 stripes is my favorite
You think you can do the history of the 426 hellephant and how got its name? and what made dodge makers to bring back more powerful?
Cool
I wish my 2021 Charger had a fratzog emblem or something similar

I never knew that the "An American revolution" slogan was used by Dodge before Chevy used it in the 2000s on their cars until now.
The called fratzog. Is the one and the only worth of respect. The one i'm seeing since i was in the cradle and marked my life forever.
When I had my 2011 Charger I noticed it didn't have the red slashes in my grille logo, but now I have a 2012 charger and there is still no red slashes with my dodge grille logo lol
What about the large Ceramic coated plaque on the side of the hood that said Dodge brothers?
I still remember the dodge boys have more fun and dodge girls have more fun jackets in the 80's
Forward Look logo is stylish
In the late 80's and 90's the Rams had such a problem with getting their Hood Ornaments stolen that they just started to integrate them with the Hood.
03 slogan "that thang got a hemi?"
Do Plymouth emblems please!
i drive a ram so my favorite is the ram head ;) grab life by the horns!!!!

Well they did partner up with Mitsubishi back in the 90-00s I believe. But that is irrelevant to the question.
