Techinical Question: How do you adjust the depth that the bit extends past the work surface? At 8:48 right after you inserted the chamfer bit with the bearing you place the router with the bit inserted into the barrel with the work surface rest on top, and the chamfer bit is clearly not protruding at all past the work surface. Then at 8:54 you insert the dust collection hose at which time we see the chamfer bit is clearly not protruding past the work surface so that it will actually route whatever material you pass across the work surface. How did you adjust the height of the bit?
Danke!
oh man, and why do I have all material and a little trimmer there since one year and didn`t even start this ad hoc milling table... ? So adorable, thanks for you inspiration :)! Now it is up in the to do list ^^
That's really nice, especially given how simple it is. I don't know about having it all supported by the bucket in the middle though. I'd be worried about it tipping over if you pressed down on any of the edges.
It seems to work well for small pieces. I think if you were working with larger pieces of wood, you would definitely want more support and something to keep it from tipping. But you could probably make some simple swing arms that are attached to the bottom of the table to hold the bucket and then just lay some 2x across your saw horses, set the table on the 2x’s and then you’re good to go! Overall, I really like the simplicity of it.
your opinion is correct. When processing large materials, I think you need legs to support the table. For small materials it is not a problem at all. Also, by attaching a dust collector, the top plate will be adsorbed, making it difficult to move.
Adding a small groove for the power cord was a nice touch. Well done! (Note: I tried the single-anchor fence after seeing a video by Izzy Swan. It makes exact placement of the groove easier than a traditional fence, IMO.)

This man is incredible. I enjoy watching these videos… very very clean work
This "man" is a woman. Go back and watch all of the videos with that in mind and you will know the truth.
