However, this one has kept his by walking the path of a mild anti-villain since his righteous master died. He discovered his oath as a Paladin and his oath of fealty to the master’s line were in conflict, as the new king proved to be nothing like his father.

Headcanon: the nobleman she stole from was actually the nobleman from the dog girl series. The sentencing itself was to keep up his appearance of being heartless, and he just told the guard to let her escape. You can't change my mind
If she played her cards right, she would've gotten a mani pedi, a full meal then escape for free. Truly 2 kind people trying not to take advantage of each other.

Even before the incident he always evil and ruthless against criminals but acted not that way against child and family. He himself seems to believe, the things he does for the beast girl are mean and evil. Even at the end he is not really able to break his own delusion, while the paladin was obviously faking and admitted it to himself at the end.

He was a corrupt Paladin in the sense he didn't wanna do his job, just wanting to slack off, but did it in such a way where *on paper* he could say he cut off pieces of his victim's body and tortured them through starvation and technically not be lying. 😂
I'm going to guess that the paladin struggles with maintaining his folks or an orphanage and she just happened to donate money to them or something like that.
The nail trimming one was a bit brutal, I mean not being able to pick up paper is like super frustrating. Other than that, this paladin is one of the good ones.

Too bad the thief was the dense one in this situation and couldn’t catch on to the paladin’s good intentions.
