Kinda a funny story, I had Willie’s Roadhouse going on while my granddad and I were out looking for a part for a car and this song came on. He instantly lit up and was pretty happy to hear that his 29 year old grandson was listening to this great tune. Song has stuck for me

I have to agree with you and we are very close to the same age. Like you, my affection for these artists has only intensified with the years. Actually, I think I have more an appreciation of them now though part of that may due to age. Fortunately for us, we were lucky enough to witness music that mattered and became timeless. Thanks for commenting and listening

Back in 1982, my dad bought a boat where the previous owner had left this album in the 8 track tape player. I don't think we ever played any other albums. Lots of smiles and dancing around when T for Texas came on. This song will always remind me of happy, sunny days on the Illinois river by Peoria with my dad.

Wore this album out twice along with' Red Headed Stranger.' Only Dwight Yoakam comes as close to this authentic Americana True Country sound. This is like the original Route 66 to me. Best part of my memories. Thank you for your excellent taste.

Funnily enough, while my dad turned me into a classic rock fan, my grandma also really turned me on to classic country, and this is our song. I liked this song before even realizing that Skynyrd did it.

Aaaaaiiiiieeee. Damn I miss the South. Born Yankee by birth. Raised Rebel by the Grace of God. Thank you God. These are some pantywaste partiers up here. They can't have no fun ever. I'm 60 an don't drink and they still bore the crap out of me. I miss the bonfires an letting loose an the cops didn't phuq with you cau you wasn't stupid to do shit to bring em out on ya. Well mostly. Cops let you let loose as long as nothing got tore up. Man those were the days. Had the best and purest drugs then too. This crap today is deadly.
