lots of people don't react to it much if they know when test time is, and even an unexpected test lots of people don't go, " well lookie der, that do done be an air raid siren" as an experienced recorder and siren enthusiast, ive learned you come to expect these and adapt to the sudden noise.
@LilStewerdess When I looked on Bing Maps, it did show St Cloud is in three Counties. You can see for yourself if you want. I am more in the Metro area and all the Counties around here use alert. Even some Suburbs here are split into two Counties like St. Anthony Village are in both Hennepin and Ramsey Counties, Spring Lake Park and Blaine are mostly in Anoka County and a very small portion of both of those Suburbs are in Ramsey County.
@LilStewerdess What about Benton County? I heard St Cloud takes up three Counties. Sherburne. Stearns, and Benton. Does Elk River in Sherburne County use attack sugnal during warnings too?
That's weird how the blower cut out before the chopper finished cycling. Sounds extremely healthy though, aside from the broken rotator. Awesome capture!
The thing that is weird is that the lack of people noticing it and there is a school bus driving and middle school doesn't get out until 2:30 pm and with elementary school it's 3:30 pm and the audio seems like the siren is rotating
+Wolf Leader 14 lot of tornado sirens are different tones now. Our Federal 2001's use to make the same tone as this Thunderbolt but they changed it to the steady notes a few years back. Honestly I think they should do maintenance on our 2001's because I can't hear them up on the northern part of my town, and if not they should at least put a siren at the fair grounds near my house. My favorite sirens are the ASC T-128's
I think thunderbolts are good for places where houses are closer together. My town doesn't really do that and there are a lot of taller buildings around my town that block the sounds of the sirens we have.
2001_master I'm pretty sure the roundback 2001 is still there... or so I thought... I live in Becker and stop in St cloud fairly regularly. I'll have to look closer next time I'm there.
@LilStewerdess Haha yeah I know what you mean. Oh well, at least it did sound off for ya! I had the same thing happen to me with one at the beginning of last month, except I got a full 3 minutes of alert with the horn pointed directly at me the whole time, not to mention I was right at 100ft from it. That was painful lol.
The kids on the bus are scared to death scared to death scared to death the kids on the bus are scared to death of the siren
when my neighbors are leafblowing
I like how all the ppl in all the siren videos dosent give a shit when they start. they just walk away and dosent get scared
Ludvig Frestadius And i know its a test

Was that a blue bird school bus in the background?

Is the blower even working?
yes
Yeah.
I bet some people had A Vietnam flashback from ww2 and crapped their pants
A Vietnam flashback from WW2? How does that work? 😂

Did you call this one in to Sterns County Emergency Management about the broken Rotator and i think this will be replaced very soon
Isn't that a bombing siren? I thought tornado sirens went to a high note and stayed there.
they used to

LunaMizuki8806 I like the t128, but if I had to choose a siren, I would choose a thunderbolt

Yeah, and in my town, we have a sterling m5 or m10
it would be cool if it blew up when it started
Yea
Hell no.
Overload in the motor starter must have tripped.
I thought that St. Cloud sounded their sirens in Alert for tornado warnings.
Awesome video! I wonder why the Blower cut out before the siren was deactivated?
well, the wind muffles the sound, but that man doesnt even look behind him which people normally do but i dont really know
and the thunderbolt happened?
this would just scare the tornado away
All I hear is Satan screaming
I don't hear Satan screaming
And yes I can take a joke
That my voice when I'm mad
Yep i do hear it
I've seen this one before! Sadly, it's no longer there.
have you reported it to the EM?
The rotator may be blooey but it sounds great!
that boy got an earful........the rotator probably just needs a new belt
Sounds like the blower cuts out before the chopper stops.
Is it still there? I would like to check it out. :)
AKSoapy29 Has been replaced by a 2001-130
@@mnsirens those dumb 2001s think they are better than thunderboltS
mn_sirens :(
@@mnsirens but the Rotator has just been Turned Off So How Can it get Replaced With A 2001-130
I feel bad for the WW2 Veterans. This must’ve scared they’re asses.
I read asses as ashes and snorted
This freaks me out
I HEAR A BUNCH OF 2001S AND A TBOLT WITHOUT A BLOWER IN THE BACKGROUND
2001_master I'm pretty sure the roundback 2001 is still there... or so I thought... I live in Becker and stop in St cloud fairly regularly. I'll have to look closer next time I'm there.
Why are the rotators breaking?
the belts evenually break
Why is the rotator broken, maybe just after so many uses it just got old. Nice video!
Brickman619 It was probably just a worn belt
what a surprise its a thunderbolt
I have to admit the Chicago one IS STILL CREEPIER
They have got to fix that pronto before a real tornado warning or no one will here it at all
Crafter3000 It's been replaced
They turned off rotater
sound travel even though you have a point ive seen this siren not rotate while testing
true
They could be coming back from a school trip...
