I started to work Walgreens as a side hustle. I thought I wouldn’t spend money there. However as I understood how the rewards system, printed coupons and Walgreens app/digital coupons worked, and throw in my employee discount, i definitely struggled for a couple months to not take advantage of it all. I tear up my coupons right away and rarely go on the app now. BACK ON TRACK with my goals!!!!
You guys are so funny :-) Personally, I hate all reward programs:the amount of work it takes to sign up, keep track of your online passwords, buy a backpack to lug around all your hundreds of reward cards or buy a new phone that can handle hundreds of apps, the time to calculate points versus reward, it adds sooooo much extra stress and feels like I'm working for these companies for free - they are the ones profiting!. Also there is the issue of privacy and data harvesting. Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where there are no reward programs at all and stores would give you a great deal just for shopping there?
I have some Rewards memberships, and I see your point. When they get you, it's sooo annoying! I don't mind doing the work, but when there's some little catch, like you won't get it if you use Self-Checkout, or you bought one item that wasn't food, or you put your phone number in the keypad at the wrong time. Just Uuujhhggg!
Or, or, you could cook your own food and brew your coffee and _actually_ save money! Just a thought! _"Booo! Booooo!" "Get outta here!" "We want to spend!!"_ *_*throws tomatoes*_* _"Get him!!"_ ( oДo)
Great video, and I agree with their suggestions. The one caveat is that I have found some of these programs (like Chipotle) will occasionally give free rewards or coupons (i.e. we miss you! free chips and salsa!) I don't eat out much, but between these freebies and birthday rewards, I find I still get some rewards without visiting and spending too much.
Both are incentivized spending. They keep you coming back and end up spending more money. Just make your lunch and coffee. Eating out should be a rare occasion if you are trying to save money and be debt free.
I am confused how George is so all-in on loyalty programs, but stops short of credit card rewards. There’s an amazing world out there that I can tell George would absolutely love. Maybe one day! Rachel should also get the southwest credit card. The companion pass you can earn from the card saves you SO much money. Also Banana Republic/GAP (with the credit card) is literally the best retail loyalty program that’s probably ever existed. It’s not even close.
Moe’s has a good rewards system. Free birthday burrito. 1 point per dollar spent and $10 after 100 points. They don’t expire so you can rack up multiple $10 rewards. You can use it the $10 for anything on the menu and you don’t have to use it all at one time.
I used to work at Kroger at the Fuel Center. The points system is design to customers to spend more money. The more money you spend, the more points you get, the more points you get, the more money you “save” at the pump. You would only save a few cents at the pump. It is a ripoff.
Was thinking about this the other day. In the end, they all want retention… in a sense you’re going back consistently or thinking twice about it when initially you may not have.
I love Biggby Coffee and McDonald's rewards programs. I do use my credit card program. But we're debt free and always pay it off right away. We use the points for restaurant giftcards and that's how we pay for date nights. The credit card is paying us. Talk about sticking it to the man!
I like this content…..but I do kind of think the mentality behind using these reward programs is too similar to credit cards for you guys to stay consistent about your message. It’s dangerous promotion territory for you imo…Just my $0.02. Cheers
Independent Records has a good rewards program. I get one point for every $13 spent and then when I have enough points, I can redeem them to get 50% off of a purchase.
If you actually use the program regularly then yes, they are worth it. Budget accordingly, but that should already be assumed since you are watching a Ramsey Solutions Team video.
The waitress gets the tips, and is often the least paid employee in the restaurant. The business if they have good business sense can afford the discount so coupons benefit them. Tips are usually between 15% and 20% of a bill. Now it's often calculated for you by how you're paying, so you click the gratituty or tip button before inputting the coupon code if you are ordering online. Or at the restaurant, you figure out it by yourself and put in the other amount at the end of the transaction.
I will remain making my own coffee at home 😊 As for "rewards" yeah no. Aside from my local grocery store where I shop and get grocery reward discounts and 10 cents off/per gallon of gas (without paying a membership fee), I gave up all other Rewards programs. I have the Target Red debit card which I rarely use because I Usually find my desired item cheaper elsewhere.
I get reward points from Maverick (a gas station chain that just opened in Colorado Springs) and after spending hundreds of dollars of my boss’ money and some of my own money, I finally had enough points to get an Icee for free. It was valued at $1.75. And it gave me a stomach ache.

This pairing of Rachel and George works really well. They have the same playful humor and spark off each other. It is a joy to watch.

I love the segments that you both are in. You guys do great work together! 👍🏼
Rachel's channel is at the top of the algorithm.

I guess it comes down to whether the “rewards” you get outweigh the fact that the companies make $$$ selling your personal information.
How can they be for loyalty programs, but against credit card rewards? Seems the same to me.
1 is debt. The other is not debt.

Rachel can you bring on Christina? I feel she is somewhat quiet on the Ramsey show, would love to see her open up!
No comment on programs like Fetch Rewards or that fuel one being advertised. Anyone else use these? Being from OK, I love my whataburger program ...
Editor inserting the “no I don’t think I will” 😂😂

George: They were gonna drag you in the comment section 😂😂
You’re a hero George!! 😁
I love your guys duo on these videos 🤗
Math nerds are so awesome! We count on you to figure this stuff out! :)) Thank you!
Best rewards are those you get at stores you shop at anyway - such as grocery stores and gas stations. Pays to be loyal to 1 store or chain.

Hate having to jump thru hoops to save money!

Y'all are so cute together💛

These two are hilarious together. Love the great tips and info. Thank you 🙏
Oh my word Rachel and or her editor are always so on point with the memes 🤣
George and Rachel work well together!

New to your channel, love the content. Have you ever done a show on timeshare companies like RCI/Interval? Love to hear your take on them.
I hate that I can't just go to a store and buy something without being harassed about loyalty/rewards programs.
Yes
Every time I go to the grocery store
Especially these days
Independent Records has a good rewards program. I get one point for every $13 spent and then when I have enough points, I can redeem them to get 50% off of a purchase.
So you have to eat junk food to get rewards point? I thought we're supposed to eat beans and rice and rice and beans?
Get 4 places where I use discount gift cards, coupons, etc where I consistently save money, know der sales cycles & stock up wen get gr8 prices.
George is the peoples champ😁
If you actually use the program regularly then yes, they are worth it. Budget accordingly, but that should already be assumed since you are watching a Ramsey Solutions Team video.
Can someone elaborate on the tipping on the original amt? I dont get it!

Heck yeah! Gotta spend money to save mone-no, wait . . . that doesn't quite work out so well ( o.o)
Wesco gas, I've learned to appreciate. You get X off of gas. Example. Buy 2 redbulls, you get $0.18 off per gallon of gas.
I often wonder if/when Dave is no longer involved with the company if any of his minions would come out in favor of credit cards for the rewards.
Totally agree that papa johns is less consistent now
I did not understand the capn Joe Biden reference.
Kohls is the worst too. I can not figure out their program at all. Their stuff stinks anyway so I just do not go there.
No scammer. Go away

No. Not in my experience
Kroger, Taco Bell, and Domino's also have good programs.
Talking about value and going to Starbucks! 🤣🤦♂️
The only good thing at papa John's is the cheesy bread lol

No they do not.
So essentially, the same things you can get with credit cards. lol
2:17 _"You get a free sandwich, which is _*_many, many_*_ dollars, for free."_
And more and more all the time! ( oДo) 📈
Stop going out to eat cook meal, how is telling people join theses programs helpful, its like using credit card u earn % back same concept
McDonald's is king hands down.
I was just thinking this, I love my McDonald’s app!
George can you leave some women for the rest of us..
Ok. You lost me at Socialist Starbucks. Sorry
