In case you were wondering, the MC is Melinoe, Goddess of Ghosts. Given her traits, she's most likely the daughter of Hades and Persephone (likely conceived after Hades I) and Zag's sister. The character she was fighting in the beginning animation is Hecate, Goddess of Magic and Witches.
Yeah I was reading the FAQ! They confirmed that she’s Zagreus’s sister and that this takes place directly after the first game, I can’t wait to see what happens!!!
This is gonna be SO GOOD. We are playing as Melinoe whose another daughter of Hades and Persephone in greek mythology (so technically Zagreus' sister) and given that Apollo says on the trailer "I will light your way down" we are most likely going in the opposite direction as we did in Hades, going down to Tartarus in order to fight Chronos himself instead of going up to escape the underworld. It would be interesting if, assuming we are going down, Melinoe could after some runs cross paths with Zagreus while he's going up trying to escape from Chronos just to not be trapped like Hades (it could work like the encounters with Thanatos in the original and be like a face-off for one room or something idk)

I saw the laurel crown and my first thought was “maybe Supergiant just likes that design, it can’t be a Hades sequel” but then I saw the fire feet 😂
