Just got this done last week, the actual procedure doesn't hurt! I was in and out in like 30 minutes. The next couple days are a bit uncomfortable, but I didn't find it any more uncomfortable than general braces pain. A week later and all of the burn tissue is gone and they're in the process of coming down! The worst part is that it looks a little gross afterwards just with all the tissue, but that goes way pretty quickly. Edit: a lot of the comments got this done with a laughing gas anesthesia, but I got it done with the localized (gel and injection) anesthesia. Only difference was that mine had to be regelled once because they missed a spot lol
Oops its been a month, but I had no eating pain! Just general soreness. The teeth themselves move into place pretty quickly (mine are fully in place 2 months post) so its all very fast!@@yeagg

My canines were in the roof of my mouth and bent at angles. One of them is backwards even and in the process of twisting around atm. You people with impacted canines on the outside of your gums have it so good. You can barely eat anything with two gaping holes with exposed raw flesh on the top of your mouth! It was so bad for like two weeks, including over my birthday :( I got them exposed Oct ‘20, and a year and a few months later, they’re almost in line with my other teeth!
Same I had both my canines literally right below my nose and also bent completely. I cud literally feel the pressure of them twisting my canines in my nose . But they had to remove it so no exposing happened .just a lot of stitches

But the healing process afterwards may somewhat be painful. The chain they attached to the canine was a little annoying but tolerable. It took about half a year to a year for them to fully erupt. Just know I’m a huge baby when it comes to pain and such, but this oral surgery… it was a success and even though I panicked in the surgery room, I still felt relieved after waking up. c:

Just got this done, and there will be some pain. All you feel is the numb being applied. (Edit) Depending on how the numb is applied, for me it was through a needle so you won't feel your mouth for a while. (EDIT 2) Depending where your tooth is located, the process might take longer depending if it's outside or inside the gum. Mine was inside the gum so a spring had to make room for the tooth. First appointment was the laser incision. Next appointment was the actual bracket and the tooth coming down.

@@farhan_syed In a way they do, my gums line up the same as with my teeth, the impacted tooth had to be brought down with a bracket, but before the bracket was the laser exposure. let me know if you have any questions. Im sure the ortho will do a good job with it.

Its 2023 for the record and my teeth( all on the top row) are Crooked and look horrible, they are sideways and I hate it. As a teen still in school its very common for people to be mean even tho im some what popluar. (Im white) but i have Mustache hairs that are dark brown and because my top row of teeth that are slanted it effects my lip, it bends a certin way when i smlie, which makes my Mustache more visible and as a female this is absolutely horrible.. I hate it but the pain is nothing.. wheh the suegry first happend i was needing mechine but i pray my teeth will be straight soon. Oh yea it makes my face chubby. -❤

Had this done like four days go, the pain was not bad at all and nor was swelling, there was t really any. But what really sucked it this morning I woke up with a ton of blood in my mouth because it bled over night and it made me sick because I ingested too much blood.
I have an impacted canine tooth and had to get the gold chain and bracket then did this procedure. If your afraid of needles... your beat! I My orthodontist had to numb my gum near the tooth before doing this and he did that by putting a needle in my mouth (while I was awake and in the chair) TWICE! The whole thing took about an hour just because I was fighting with him not to put a needle in my mouth, but after he finished everything, I was numb for about 2 hours and the pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! 🙂

There are different options like going under, sedation, but you will always have local anesthesia put in your mouth so you don’t feel pain. It goes well but normally takes well for me it took almost a week but it's normal.

Hi, I’ve had my braces less than a year! Both of mine was turn and one was all the way down and straight it’s a little lower my other teeth, my other is down but still turned. My time is about 18 months but it does come down!

I just got this done I was really loopy from the anesthesia. The iv did not hurt at all! I did not feel anything. I feel no pain from that chain but I had to get a adult tooth pulled out from the bottom and that hurts super bad. I did get some antibiotics.

So anyways when my orthodontist started pulling it, after the first week it pulling, it broke off. I did not eat anything weird at all. Again, don’t be worried bc my case is very rare and usually never happens.

Guys i have the exact problem, and today I put braces on my upper teeth. Dr. said that first we'll make a gap and we'll wait until canine get down automatically and if it doesn't come down then we'll insert a new tooth(which freaking me out) we not pull the upper canine..

I have an impacted canine just like in the video but I didn’t need any surgery it was already exposed but needs to be brought down. So I got my braces on Feb 3 2022. I’ll update you as to how long it takes to bring the canine down to the level of the rest of the teeth
My dentist used a combination of arch wire and power chains to instigate movement. So my canine has gotten down considerably, maybe 2 millimetres are left to get to the level of other teeth. However in my 3rd month, I experienced a lot of pain in this tooth (my arch wire was changed twice, each progressively putting more pressure on the teeth). But it felt tender always. Therefore my dentist reduced the pressure on it, and now its movement is quite slow but I smile much more confidently now (still have some way to go, but I’m happy and it’s doesn’t hurt overly much)
did you have to get 1 or 2 teeth removed for the canine to have space to come down? i have to get 2 teeth removed but i’m scared because i only have one high canine so i don’t know if it’s necessary for 2 teeth to be removed 😭
@@gigilol8053 I only got one tooth removed (the milk tooth in place of canine) and it has enough space to come down. I can’t say for you, since every case is different and your dentist can guide better
funny how the canine my ortho had to remove is just a tiny little stub pointing out of my gum but the canine that fell out on its own is fully grown. *funny*

TheZman04 nope, after u go sleep u will just feel discomfort for a few days but for me the stitches tuck at least 2 weeks for it to fully dissolve. After 3-4 i was back to my normal self just feels a bit weird having a chain and also one day u might experience this weird thing where ur chain just dangles, it is normal, when u go to ur dentist they will cut the excess off. However i had 2 operations one where i was asleep and one where i was awake, they numbed me but i didnt feel nothing and tbh i was waiting for some type of pain lool but nothing, after that 20 min op there was a some swelling that went down after 5 days

i had to get my W arch removed because the wire was embedded in the roof of my gums, so they lasered the gum off to remove the arch, the laser it self won't hurt but the needle will hurt but just ignore it and it will be okay xd

Other than that, my experience was pretty easy, I haven't gotten my wire yet, I'll be getting that in a few days I'm pretty sure that's when it's gonna start hurting but for the most part if you just take a painkiller, you'll be fine.. and from what I've heard it just gets easier from then on. I'd say the main concern is it being extremely uncomfortable since your not use to it, I'm sure for some cases it may hurt but I think for the most part it'll just be uncomfortable, like a mouthpiece in you mouth.
you orthodontist might have decided to let it come down by itself for a few millimeter first. It's a good idea if you consult with your orthodontist on your next visit.

@@kibble9865 okay so like, I ended up having to get 2 teeth pulled for braces (but that might just be because of my mouth) but it really just depends. They said that the canine growing in like that was also normal, so you don’t really have anything to worry about as long as you take care of the braces :) SO GOOD LUCK

How long does it take for the chain bracket to bring down the buried tooth which has been exposed from the gums down to the level of the other teeth?

My left side took about 2 months to fully come out my right side however took 4 months bc it was coming out slow and yeah then the braces made it staright

@@ritikamohapatra no basically i got my braces around march then like 2 weeeks later they took 4 of my teeth out to make room then 3 weeks later they did the surgical exposure because my teeth werent coming down my teeth came rlly fast my dentist was surprised
@@jasonaquino7882 that’s great my tooth was already exposed so no surgery happened, but yeah not sure how long it will take to come down. 1 month since braces. I’m over 25 so it’s a pain and you feel more conscious :(

I just got this done I was really loopy from the anesthesia. The iv did not hurt at all! I did not feel anything. I feel no pain from that chain but I had to get a adult tooth pulled out from the bottom and that hurts super bad. I did get some antibiotics.

@@ava8146 my procedure was actually really rare. So anyways after chain was on for a month, thry had to start pulling it. So anyways when my orthodontist started pulling it, after the first week it pulling, it broke off. I did not eat anything weird at all. So anyways, I go back and it broke off bc the tooth was sideways or smth super rare and it couldn’t pull bc of the amount of pressure and force. Again, don’t be worried bc my case is very rare and usually never happens.

mariah greene yeah it can be surgically removed but if you want it pulled down then you will need braces

only a couple months needed. my canines were about that high in my mouth and they attached the wires and then made me wear some rubber bands and now they're practically the same level as all my other teeth

I had the surgery like 2 years ago(I had an impacted canine) and so far the surgery was a success but my canine has a huge root and after it grew,the root is so visible at the top of my gun and when i asked my orthodontist he said it'll stay like that forever 😭(I have braces) tbh I have low self esteem rn and i feel like I got scammed

Guys i have the exact problem, and today I put braces on my upper teeth.
Dr. said that first we'll make a gap and we'll wait until canine get down automatically and if it doesn't come down then we'll insert a new tooth(which freaking me out) we not pull the upper canine..

I have an impacted canine just like in the video but I didn’t need any surgery it was already exposed but needs to be brought down. So I got my braces on Feb 3 2022. I’ll update you as to how long it takes to bring the canine down to the level of the rest of the teeth

My dentist used a combination of arch wire and power chains to instigate movement. So my canine has gotten down considerably, maybe 2 millimetres are left to get to the level of other teeth. However in my 3rd month, I experienced a lot of pain in this tooth (my arch wire was changed twice, each progressively putting more pressure on the teeth). But it felt tender always. Therefore my dentist reduced the pressure on it, and now its movement is quite slow but I smile much more confidently now (still have some way to go, but I’m happy and it’s doesn’t hurt overly much)
did you have to get 1 or 2 teeth removed for the canine to have space to come down? i have to get 2 teeth removed but i’m scared because i only have one high canine so i don’t know if it’s necessary for 2 teeth to be removed 😭
@@gigilol8053 I only got one tooth removed (the milk tooth in place of canine) and it has enough space to come down. I can’t say for you, since every case is different and your dentist can guide better

TheZman04 nope, after u go sleep u will just feel discomfort for a few days but for me the stitches tuck at least 2 weeks for it to fully dissolve. After 3-4 i was back to my normal self just feels a bit weird having a chain and also one day u might experience this weird thing where ur chain just dangles, it is normal, when u go to ur dentist they will cut the excess off. However i had 2 operations one where i was asleep and one where i was awake, they numbed me but i didnt feel nothing and tbh i was waiting for some type of pain lool but nothing, after that 20 min op there was a some swelling that went down after 5 days

i had to get my W arch removed because the wire was embedded in the roof of my gums, so they lasered the gum off to remove the arch, the laser it self won't hurt but the needle will hurt but just ignore it and it will be okay xd

Other than that, my experience was pretty easy, I haven't gotten my wire yet, I'll be getting that in a few days I'm pretty sure that's when it's gonna start hurting but for the most part if you just take a painkiller, you'll be fine.. and from what I've heard it just gets easier from then on.
I'd say the main concern is it being extremely uncomfortable since your not use to it, I'm sure for some cases it may hurt but I think for the most part it'll just be uncomfortable, like a mouthpiece in you mouth.

you orthodontist might have decided to let it come down by itself for a few millimeter first. It's a good idea if you consult with your orthodontist on your next visit.

@@kibble9865 okay so like, I ended up having to get 2 teeth pulled for braces (but that might just be because of my mouth) but it really just depends. They said that the canine growing in like that was also normal, so you don’t really have anything to worry about as long as you take care of the braces :) SO GOOD LUCK
