This video focuses on drawing with the arm which is a very useful skill, especially when it comes to draw long and smooth lines and also painting.
It is not really required in the following tutorials, but you can practice it very well in parallel and so it's beneficial to set the start of the learning curve very early on.

Want to say thank you. I'm new to drawing and just have been so overwhelmed. I want to learn how to draw characters from my own writing but so far from that goal and been stumbling around with just how to do that. A friend sent me your perspective video and watched all your videos. Very well informed and gave me confidence to go forward and to study in detail. Currently learning how to break down the body into specific parts. Once again thank you for these videos.

First of all, that is a long way to go, but the reward is not to be found only in the end, but on all the way. Yeah, breaking the body into parts is an important thing! But gesture drawing (showing the essence of a pose with few strokes, maybe even only one or two strokes) is also important, and probably before or parallel to all this, you need some spatial imagination I would say. Like drawing cubes etc. If you saw all my videos you know the box-council test? Maybe this shows you what you need to practice. Really, once I made up that my drawing of 'simple' cubes is lacking, I improved suddenly quite a lot. A good way to learn perspective and cubes etc imo is DrawABox, a nice and free online course. Just make sure, that you don't end up with dry practicing, and try to draw something you want to draw anyways and end up having some fun! Oh, and also drawing from life helps you in so many ways!
I hope this helps and thanks for your comment!

You mentioned some things that you said would come up again in the later episodes, but there don't seem to be any further episodes in thus particular series, and then a nearly 1 year gap between videos. I was wondering if those topics ever came up in any of your later videos?

This particular thing what I mentioned did not come up. I also changed my plans and probably will not make a video specificly dedicated to it. What I am referring to is pen pressure, and how you can use it to vary your line, either by controlling the thickness, or the darkness. Here is a drawing from me where I used this: www.deviantart.com/ucandothat2/art/MC-977587205
By pressing the pencil harder or lighter one can vary the line very much. And this use of pen pressure was what I learned by drawing very quickly - like in this video.
Much changed in my perspective and what I consider as *important* in art, so I deviated from my original plans. I started working on new videos but cannot say when they are done.
      Thanks for your comment!

I am new to drawing and i can't really decide what should i draw. Even if i know what i want to know. Like for example a giraffe. I know i can't draw it and it will end up being a very bad drawing. This fear makes me not wanna draw it. Maybe figure drawing using this site will fix this, i mean its better then drawing Nothing

i think redrawing something that you like is a good start! Having fun and building confidence from little successes is where you can benefit from most I think. You maybe could give something like anime/comic a try? Maybe this fits you better and gives you more joy and confidence in the beginning than realistic stuff like giraffes.
And if you just start with drawing, I would rather not go for figure drawing, and not even with my tutorials - this is very technical and will not help you so much, at least for now. Rather try to find joy in the process :)

@@user-og9nl5mt1b Actually maybe soon! At least I started working on 2 videos recently. But better take 'soon' as a very relative term ^^
