- This August I married my beautiful wife Lena. When we decided to spend our honeymoon paragliding in the Alps we thought we would have to leave our dog Bella behind. We had practiced paragliding with her before but that was in the UK. Would she be able to cope with long and thermal alpine flying conditions? Since the thought of leaving the dog behind was breaking our heart we had to take risk it and find it out out...

How never to have arguments with your wife about how much time you spend paragliding...marry another pilot and go together (oh the dream) ! What a lucky dog you are Kerim and a lucky doggo you both have in lovely Bella too. So great to see her so calm and enjoying the ride, all safe and secure with you. Ha ha LOVE IT so much. What is the harness you have used for the dog?
...great! What kind of harness do you use for your Bella?
I am using a Ruffwear dog climbing harness for Bella. She is attached to a Petzl Voltige chest harness I am wearing. During the flight I'd say that at least 90% of the dogs weight is on my legs. This way she is very close to me and feels secure. Also the handling of the paraglider is improved because we are one unit. I have tried different set ups but felt that there was too much movement. Neither me nor the dog liked it. Bella weighs 17 kg by the way, so it is no problem for me to lift her up during take off.

@@skate2hell Awesome! I was thinking about buying the climbing harness for this exact reason: to take my dog paragliding. Didn't know the best way to hook her up yet though and it seems I found it in your answer!
