This webinar saw Helen Clark joined by business leader and climate and equalities campaigner Paul Polman for the launch of a discussion paper on productivity in the New Zealand food and fibre sector, titled Pathways to Prosperity: Capturing more of the value of our food and fibre sector exports for New Zealand.
Commissioned by the The Helen Clark Foundation and produced by the NZ Institute of Economic Research (NZIER), the paper considers the importance of the food and fibre sector to New Zealand’s future prosperity, and sets out pathways by which it can grow value sustainably in the years ahead.
To mark the launch, Helen and Paul discussed how the food and fibre sector can meet changing international expectations around sustainability and climate change, and the skills and capabilities firms will need to be competitive in export markets in the years ahead.

They just don't get it. The preamble in this presentation is what I have heard about my business life. This group presents the central government control approach to business. This never works. Government purpose is to manage business rules agreed to by citizens of the country and only that. Innovation is only an entrepreneurial function of business and can never be created by the government. The primary thing the government can do is base policy on evidence based science in environmental and social sciences. The primary pillar of the environment today is "carbon footprint". In the social sciences is personal wealth. In both of these this symposium falls into the same old traps. CO2 is a gas that is as important to our existence as oxygen. Base your business environmental policy on pollution issues but not "carbon footprint"! Secondly, central banking control of money DOES NOT WORK! Transform your economy from using a centralized money management system to the best money management system ever invented by the human experience which is Bitcoin. Educate yourself on Bitcoin and use it!!!!
