Imagine you're just flying enjoying the scenery, when a F18 starts escorting you, that must be fucking terrifying
If it was in real life yeah maybe but realise this is just a game so would just be seen as "who is this arsehole flying close to me"

Wiggling at high speeds is actually realistic and is called fluttering.

And going too fast for too long can cause a plane to lose its horizontal Stabilizer depending on the location of said stabilizer
@@skore5829 depends also on the plane, it might also lose something else. Flutter really stresses the plane, I would say first thing to fall of might be a wing or an engine

I saw the blue Angels at an air show a few years back. Those guys are pros, The stunts they pulled off were insane.
I've met the Blue Angles multiple times and basically have VIP with them
I see them fly almost everyday, it can get kind of annoying..

Fun fact: The Blue Angels F/A-18’s can be combat ready within 72 hours of first notification, soooo, in theory you could be intercepted by a Blue Angels F/A-18

Blue Angel F/18s are stripped F/18 Superhornets and are not equipped for combat, the amount of hours and maintenance to re install the equipment and munitions for combat will take longer than 72 hours
I remember watching the blue angels for something with my dads work and thought this looked familiar I remember one of them died when I was very little not too soon after I saw them
@@frawg1043 Plane in vid is a Legacy. My bet is a Charlie. Definitely not a Rhino, you can tell by the LERX size and the shape of the intakes. Legacy has nice rounded intakes while Rhino (or Super Hornet) has square intakes. Which grinds my gears, because the rounded intakes look a lot more sexy. Damn you, radar wave propagation physics!
If this Hornet didn't have the pylons stripped, you could also tell it that way, Legacy has two per wing, while the Rhino has three - I'm obviously ignoring tips, cheeks and centerline stations.

The wiggling isn't a glitch, it's physics. When you perform maneuvours during super high speeds, it puts a lot of stress on the plane so the wiggling is the plane under stress
Actually it's because this is a legacy model intended for FSX. The legacy system of MFS is forcing legacy model to be integrated to new flight model. This basically kind of emulating the old flight model in new model. The new model does not perfectly emulate old model. So a plane tuned for old model will have strange behavior when run in the new model.

@mieru I still think this is a physics problem rather than a bug. Planes actually do vibrate at high airspeed.
The F18 gets really fun when you go in and edit the thrust in the config file. It starts to get really un-flyable at around mach 5 though.

I had FSX when it came out. I downloaded a copy of the USS Enterprise and got a bunch of other players to get it too. We had like 8 Enterprises patrolling LAX. It was awesome!

Used to do this all the time on direct connect servers on FSX. Spawn in as ICY3A and TP to random people in 737 and 747 and just escort them to their destination. Good times.

That’s not a “mod” your seeing others flying in.. it’s just you have “generic traffic for players” set to on
2:22 You're right; You can't see other planes without the mod. That plane is an AI plane in the game which replaces planes you don't have for example when you do live traffic and there is an a330 - They'll show like that for you.

I was stationed in NAS Pensacola and every morning the Blue Angels would fly over our formation. They would also fly around base mostly all day every day. I never got bored of seeing them. So cool.
I'm stationed there right now for A-school. Fucking love seeing them fly over after class finishes.

thats pretty cool. im a jet mechanic on f-18s looks pretty real, the only problem is the f-18 will almost never have a double engine failure, because each engine is independent, the reason there is 2 engines is if one fails the other one will go into overtime and limp you home. a double engine failure is pretty freaking rare
sad thing is unless they have the files downloaded they dont see the plane as you do. i was flying by a buddy in the f16 and he saw he as some "old yellow plane" as he described it lol

With the hornet, you want to fly in Legacy mode. It really helps the plane.

Its actually a starting technique used by fighters to take off and immediately go almost vertical to quickly gain altitude to intercept planes
It called "scramble". The only difference between his intercept and real ones is that they know what they're doing and don't overshoot or they always use the intercept geometry by themselves or they use a GCI to reach the plane faster and with some sensors off to avoid being located by another one.

About 47000 feet can be reached in the F18A in the game, though not as cruising altitude. This one could probably go higher if you can go as fast as 800 knots. The normal one can reach about 650. Good luck reaching the 47000 feet or higher!
I did once out of a whim,barely . Had to inch my way there to have any sort of EAS and the flaps were kicking like they were being paid overtime.

The flaps in the F18 are AUTO, you can switch 'em in half or full only below the 250 knots (not the ideal when you are not gonna land) why switch 'em when you have the AUTO mode?

Great vid but for your information, the speed of the aircraft has nothing to do with whether the airplane will stall or not. You can stall at any speed, it only depends on your AOA (angle of attack) and at which angle you exceed the critical AOA.
It's not real, you AOA goes up when you decelerating and when you turning at high Gs maneuver. You can't stall at 300 knots because you can't physically do it. 300kts= nice AOA to fly 130kts=bad AOA to fly because near to the stall. When you are at 300kts and pull the stick all the way towards you, you'll go into the stall because your airspeed will go down drastically and reaches the stall.

The wobbling at high speed is no glitch. It's turbulence created by shock waves on the wings and parts of the fuselage as a result of overspeeding the airplane.
The blue angles are actually based in my state and its amazing to see them in real life.
