Greetings, After a recent surgery and cancer battle I’ve returned the guitar after three years and can’t believe I haven’t subscribed to your channel before! I used to go to your videos for the Cockburn material because you’re the only one that does it justice. Thank you for reposting this wonderful tune, I’ve learned the chords again thanks to you. Respect.
Love your BC covers. I never get bored of BC's guitar arrangements. So many great acoustic players start to sound 'samey' after a while to me. BC just seems to write songs that have parts that I love coming back to time and time again and just accompany the lyrics so well. For example Tibetan Side of Town, sounds like Tibet etc, at least to my ears, so many examples. One of the best lyricists ever but also just great playing. I have basically taught myself fingerstyle by playing BC covers and your channel over the years has really helped in this regard. Thankyou TL.
Yeah, you're absolutely right-- he has an incredible ability to capture a vibe of a place with his guitar parts; songs like Nicaragua and Sahara Gold have slight latin tinge that suits their lyrical content. Like you, I'm mostly self-taught, through learning his songs, and branching out a little into theory in order to understand things like the modal scales used in some solos. Thanks for your comment - cheers.
@@torontolarrivee7965 I too would have picked out Nicaragua and Sahara Gold. We are clearly very similar in our appreciation. Sahara Gold is just so organic and mood setting, incredible, you can feel/hear the warmth in the air! I have a copy of a great live version of it. I was just playing Silver Wheels on my guitar when your comment came through, love the chord changes in the instrumental bit! Kind regards from the UK.
With a catalogue like Cockburn's it would be impossible to choose a favorite. However this one would be in my top 100 favorite Bruce Cockburn songs.
Thanks TL always enjoy your BC videos. (for years)

Very nice to hear- wish you a full and speedy recovery. Let me know if there's other tunes you're interested in and I'll try to oblige.
I can’t thank you enough for finally playing one of Bruce’s best. You do an accurate version of the song. Now I can play it properly. Thankyou
cheers
