    I share your ideas about exploring and creating and responding to things in life that capture your imagination. So many people want, simply, to copy something that has already been done. Why? By creating I find myself. Thank you Alister for this video.

    It seems to me that there are two types of people, those who favour the mind and those who favour the body. Favouring the body means accepting to feel, experience and travel within yourself and in the outside world. It's a bit like the swing you used to sit on, going backwards and forwards. The swing represents play, childhood. You're the only person I know who proposes this adventure, an adventure that's more poetic than ‘technical’, although the latter shouldn't be overlooked. It's a wonderful encounter, a wonderful journey. Thank you, Sir.

    • @Alister_Benn
      @Alister_Benn  27 днів тому +1

      Thanks man, yes, it was very much okay and playfulness. Accepting the child and allowing it to be free to play is critical. Adults who don’t may be successful, but they are rarely happy. There is always something missing and they try to be creative to release that spark. Trying is not playing ❤️

    If I could I would run and by that lens at once! 😅 It would open up for so much creativity and fun! Love that you’re truly expressing yourself and of all the photographers I follow here on UA-cam, I think you are the most artistic one! Thank you for encouraging us to be more unique, I find it both difficult and not difficult, I’ve always felt a bit odd but now I’m starting to dare to be me much more. Also, can’t understand why people wouldn’t subscribe to your channel, I’ve learnt so much here. Their loss 😊

    The most amazing thing about photography is that we can always learn something new, as long as we accept that there is no wrong or right way of doing what we love. Cool video :) the mirror lens were used a lot back in the day, and I tried one with the Olympus OM system. Was not expecting to see a new lens release and to medium format of all things. Cheers

    Love the sentiment Alister and to be fair I really liked some of your images taken with the Kase Reflex Lens. As you say sometimes we get to fixated on everything needing to be sharp, but in doing so we limit creativity and self expression. By the way, I am always getting asked by passers by what I am photographing and the reason they ask the question is I rarely photograph the obvious. This tells me I am developing an eye for things that most people just don't see.

At 70 I need to heed those warnings a little more. Hope to be back in the woods and streams in another 3-weeks camera in hand. Thanks for education.

    Great video, great images, all with your easy presentation style, if this is the new direction of the channel, bring it on!😀 Many years ago a phrase was coined by a relative, act your age, not your shoe size!😂 I kept up that approach, now having passed the "sell by date" I struggle with the physical aspect as the body makes you realise your age, mentally life is still fun! Enjoy your birthday, and achieving another year on planet earth!😀

    Great video Alister. You be you. Steven King has a book, I think it's called "On Writing". Obviously Steven is a phenomenally successful writer but the bottom line in his book is you be you. Some people will like what you do, some won't, But by you being you it will come off authentic instead of fake. People hate fake. I love to get out and explore with my camera and to share my images I've started writing a substack. I'm sure I struggle with the writing but I am trying to take Steven's advice to heart, I write about what I like and am knowledge about. You have a great way with words, you do great with the video. and I like it and subscribe because you come across as authentic. Keep it up. I love it. And I loved the playfulness in this video with trying something new. Looking forward to the next video.

    Just magical! This lens gives a better look than my Helios, where I reversed the front element to give me something like the look of the Käse lens, but more ‘bubbles’. However, the Käse is more soft and magical. Doubt if they make an mft fitting, but still have my Sony a7ii. Will certainly check it out. Many thanks, Alister - absolutely loved these images. My sort of creative photography!

    420g is about .925 pounds. As for the lens: not for me.
    I've had my own existential issues with photography lately. Aside from family snaps, I haven't shot or uploaded a video in 3 months. I've had significant family medical and dental bills to take care of. I've largely cut down on even watching UA-cam photography videos. I find myself thinking, what is this even for? Thank you Alister for bringing it back to self-discovery and enjoyment of the outdoors.
