The fashion in this movie is why the 1950s is one of my favorite decades ever plus the rock n' roll music from back then as well. The music and the fashions we're distinct back then.
Vi dico io cosa rendeva tutto più bello all'epoca oltre i colori, c'era Ottimismo, l'ottimismo col quale si voleva ricominciare un epoca migliore, usciti dalla guerra e comunque negli anni 60 c'era il Razzismo come mostrato in Green Book
I listened to this song when I found out that the killer had passed away and he was one of the greatest music artist of both rock and country music and another first artist I listened in both genre of music.
This film was autobiographical, but not the autobiography of Jerry Lee Lewis, the autobiography of Myra Brown, the 13 year old girl he married in 1957. "She co-wrote the book Great Balls of Fire: The Uncensored Story of Jerry Lee Lewis (1982), which was adapted into the film Great Balls of Fire! (1989)." The producers did not want Brown or Lewis involved with the film, but she visited the Memphis set anyway.[13] Although Brown found the actors to be talented and friendly, she was not satisfied with the book or the film. She had wanted to tell the story of a woman surviving difficult circumstances and inspire women to understand their own strengths,[17] so she published her memoir, The Spark That Survived, in 2016.[18] The book details of her tumultuous marriage to Lewis and how she built a new life for herself after their divorce.
That car is a 1958 Cadillac El Dorado. That is the last year for that tail fin design. In 1959 the Cadillac El Dorado was redesigned enlarged and the tailfins were super big
I think u just explained to me why that's always been my dream car !!!!!!!❤ thanks because it always has been but I didn't know why, I just thought I loved it because of how cool it looked!!!!!!😂😂😮❤❤
I'd say if you wanna dress like that go for it... if anyone says anything negative, tell them they're just jealous that you have better taste in music than them :D
Its mad to think Its actually jerry himself singing all the jerry songs in this film was reading it up the other day, the soundtrack said jerry lee lewis NEWLY recordings for the motion picture
The sentiment is wonderful but the execution of this scene just doesn’t work in a biopic. This is something you would see in “Grease” or another musical like that. So out of place here.
how does this scene work? Like, some parts hes sings and some parts he doesn't, so is he lip syncing in real time? (in context of the actual scene) and if so, where is the music coming from? maybe the record is playing on the cars radio? and also, if the record was playing in the background, why would he need to lip sync to it? or maybe nothings playing at all (in context of the actual scene) and "high school confidential" is just overlaying background music to this scene, but if so, why is he singing at some parts, is he just mouthing the words!? to no music? and if there was no actually music why are the kids clapping? You might not understand what i just wrote, but someone pls give me the context to this scene
If you ask me, Winona was miscast as Myra. I think it should've gone to Jennifer Connelly. I think J-Con looks more like Myra and would've played Myra's naivety better.
I was a big fan of The Killer, and was immeasurably disappointed when I saw this film. Between Dennis Quaid's overacting and mugging and ridiculous scenes like this, the movie is a travesty. Maybe someday they'll do a film that gives us the real Jerry Lee.
Have to agree, but at the same time there is literally a movie with Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens dancing in a kitchen with other high schoolers who are completely trained coordinated dancers, so I'm pretty sure there are movies less realistic
Everyone associated with the production of this scene, the principal actors, the extras, the director, the grip, whoever catered that day...... should forever hang their heads in shame. This scene is just flat out embarrassing. Totally ridiculous!
Its not fine art, but neither is the whole movie. I was 16-17 years old and it paid $45-hr for rehearsal time and $75-hr on set. 2 weeks work over all. Do you know what kind of money that was to a kid in 1989? Its upper-level cringe, but I didn't care. I didn't even see the movie in the theaters when it was released and waited till video. However, its a fun note in my life and I am glad I did it. Ohh...and it was a 2-day shot...and the catering sucked.
@@GQPREPPER Why do you guys all say the scene is bad? I love it, it's in the style of entire movie, and i love this movie and re-watched it many times. The kids dance acrobatic rock-n-roll in front of the school building, it's a bit like musical. Do you believe it could be done better?

The 1960s were better!

E inoltre di bello c'erano anche le Automobili
Inoltre tutto era più colorato, invece oggi non c'è ne sono più molti
Anzi qualcuno ancora c'è ma ieri è ieri, oggi è oggi
Gotta love the free flowing energy being displayed here. I miss this film so much.
Great Balls of Fire! is my absolute favorite Dennis Quaid movie
I have that movie, he was great !! 👍
Now that you point it out. Mine, too actually!

Back when chicks still liked rock and roll.
it was new. of course they still liked it. “chicks” like new stuff now, not 70 year old rock and roll.

Latoya moorehead did you know he married his cousin
That's got nothing to do with this movie.
Actually, it was in the movie, the whole movie was about Myra and Jerry, the thing is, this movie near the end is a fuckin emotional rollercoaster
love this part of the movie😍😚
Muy buena musica y genial la pelicula basada en la vids de Jerry Lewis
Does anyone know of any other movies like this with Jerry and myra
I'm Chris Hansen, why don't you have a seat
A time when the girls still dressed conservative, an could still look good.
I would like this movie if they had 1957 Jerry Lee Lewis played by an actor who looked like 1957 Jerry Lewis

Song written by ron hargrave from Ventura, California. He sang a version of this song on ukulele. Awesome. Better than Jerry lee Lewis' rendition.
All of that just to pick your cousin up from school?

Silly, contrived, and ridiculously over produced. This flick failed for a good reason.
