Yeah, one thing about Conan that I greatly respect, after losing the Tonight Show, all of that Leno mess, etc., he COULD have become greatly embittered and walk around with a huge chip on his shoulder. But instead, he's seems to be a peace and enjoy where he is - and grateful for it. He also doesn't do the mean-spirited, cheap shot stuff that so many others are known for.

philipatoz Well, NBC gave him $33 million to go away. I'm sure that eased the pain a little.

@@nandhanakrishnan.r4279 ??? That was a settlement between NBC and Conan. And NBC paid the Tonight Show's staff; Conan didn't have to pay them.

In the movie "When Harry Met Sally" the older lady in the diner that says "I'll have what she's having" was Carl Reiners wife, they were married 64 years. He will always be Rob Reiner's Dad to me. Love them both.

You can't underestimate chemistry with the characters. They all seemed to have good chemistry with each other and iit made for a historical (& hysterical) program.

It might be appealing to the older demographic (of which there are many). It's good business sense to see how it plays with advertising.
On the other hand, appearances like this is a history lesson to his normal crowd. I found it interesting as it gave insight into the life of a writer in the 70's.

I love Carl Reiner, what a mensch. Not a huge fan of the Dick Van Dyke show though I do love Mary Tyler Moore and have great respect for Van Dyke, but Carl I've always liked as a performer and a "man behind the scenes." Remember he was Steve Martin's go-to director for most of his classic flicks. "The Jerk," "The Man With Two Brains," and "All of Me," amongst others.

    True, I can only hope.
Thing is, Clint has been on Ellen NUMEROUS times in recent years..... and just for the record, I'll say that Ellen isn't a better show than Conan. For those who seem to disagree, please excuse my prejudice.
But, let's just hope that one day Clint will come on the show, show his badass skills, and walk away with a cigar in his mouth.
