Lyrics: Pounding at these prison walls inside my mind Struggling to break free but I realize: I'm stuck here, shackled by this insecurity That tells me I can't do what you're expecting of me Every night I lie awake Feeling like I'm just a mistake! Oh, take a look at me! I know I'm not the perfect boy you want me to be! All I really need Is room to breathe because This pressure's killing me! All my life I've fought to win your validation Always met with failure and humiliation Maybe I belong here, shackled in this place Where no one else can see I'm nothing but a disgrace Every night I lie in bed Trying to escape from my head! Oh, take a look at me! I know I'm not the perfect boy you want me to be! All I really need Is room to breathe because This pressure's killing me! So, take a look at me! I know I'm not the perfect boy you push me to be! But I found some clarity: My life's too precious to live shackled by insecurity! And now I'm breaking free! I'm through with you, and everybody else telling me Who I'm meant to be! I'm taking back control, The world ends with me!

Square was absolutely blackout drunk when they decided in a BRILLIANT decision to make this soundtrack intentionally bad because screw the hearing capacity of humanity, right? And this is the company that gave us FFXV, all three Bravely Default games, Kingdom Hearts, and Octopath. With so many god-tier soundtracks, it's suprising that a company with such a good track record for OSTs would make a soundtrack worse than the freaking LJN NES games. Even royalty free music is better than this crap.

I'm honestly shocked we haven't had a song like this until now. It's practically Beat's *warcry*! He's fully aware he's a disappointment to his parents, and he used to hate that fact. But now he's not only come to terms with that, he's charging forward in life with the same vigor he had in death. No fear. He knows who he is now, and he's completely at peace with it.
And here even more evidence to support your claim which I agree with. The first battle you have with Beat in the party this is the song that plays first. And it's a banger too😊 Edit: Also let's be honest this song is clearly related to Beat and his conflict with his parents from the first game and continuing sort of in the NEO. This is just something I was think about with the song but now that he's all grown up, I would imagine him meeting back with his parents along with Rhyme and a little happy family reunion would take place after the events of NEO. That would be nice.
@@iceaura3938 Lol, I've been looking for this comment thread for about a month now. I want to slightly correct myself because when I was trying to 100% my save file of Neo I found out you do hear it for the very first time in Week 1 Day 4. I should have been more specific in my first comment and said that this was the first thing I heard after Week 2 when you get Beat as a party member as a Normal Battle theme.

This song takes me back to the time I used to be into stuff like Linkin Park and Three Days Grace. Songs that are so raw and defiant they give me chills. This and The One Star are the songs I hope I get whenever I start a chain battle.
I was afraid that the songs were not gonna be as good as the first game . After I heard quite a few of them from the new game ,I am happy to say that I am glad that I was wrong. Thank you for the upload !
Hoping for a longer extension sometime in the future, but this will do for now. Really great stuff, too! 😁 I don't know why, but this really became one of my favorite themes in the game. 🙂
Great song, Week 2 and 3 really pick up the slack, and the music change also fits perfectly into the mood shift. Also nice to see everything being darker in Week 3, it gives me the same feeling as the first game's last week.
@@ImCarpet no, it ends at 3:38 on the original. I'm saying if that guitar part that was in the beginning was also added at the end, then it'd be even better.
This music sucks, hardcore. Only reason I'm not buying this game. Who composed this crap? Seriously? Only 1 good, yet deeply flawed song in both games with the rest being absolutely ear-bleeding. They literally ruined not 1, but TWO great games by having some of the worst OSTs of all time. This is worse than most NES games, just as bad if not worse than the OST for Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Game Boy Color! At least the first two level themes were somewhat good! 1 decent song in this game with tons of potential for something absolutely amazing doesn't justify 40+ additional songs equivalent in quality to the cave theme of Buffy GBC, the Crazy Bus Theme, and the 1942 NES stage theme. If they wanted songs with lyrics, literally just hire the Sonic or Persona guys. I'm pretty sure SEGA doesn't own the rights to the artists. Why make intentionally crap music for the sequel to a cult classic game just because the original had crap music?
