Kevin Turvey (brilliantly played by Rik Mayall) was a self-styled "investigative journalist" who lived with his mum, wore a shapeless blue anorak, fancied a local girl called Theresa Kelly (who was never seen), and rarely ventured outside Redditch. Each week, his "investigations" amounted to no more than an over-excited, rambling, uninformed monologue delivered to camera in a monotonous West Midlands accent.

I had the VHS of Kevin Turvey too when I was around 13! Rik Mayall is an amazing comedian and to have done something this classic when he was so young himself really shows it. Its still really funny all these years later,

I love these - such masterpieces of dry, observant writing and comic delivery. Nobody could make words sound more hilarious than Rik Mayall and never knew he was so good looking in the early 80s out of his Young Ones character!

I think it's close to a Birmingham accent, i know it's described as being a south-west midlands england accent.
