- You all enjoyed me reacting to these Tik Tok Front Row videos that were super fun! I didn't really expect a response like we got, but here is a part 2 that I filmed because there were so many good videos that I couldn't ignore! There were so many lovely smaller fashion brands involved in this video as well like Anna Sui, Rodarte, & Alyx just to name a few, which definitely spiced it up!

I like it so much more when people aren't using items from the specific brand already. Its more fun to see them get creative and creating a "insert brand" vibe

I feel like alot of the looks presented have a 90's vibe but through a genz gaze.
i think that’s true!! i think it’s an easy decade for a lot of young people to get into, and it’s a good entry point for people looking to get into fashion!
I think it's also due to the fact that 90's was the era where they really started the mixing and matching of all the decades of the 20th century; both in mainstream (street) and high fashion. Which parallels with our society today. I found it interesting that the 90's didn't really have a distinct silhouette as other decades prior to it, yet still managed to have an observable aesthetic.
Updated 90s or as I like to call it “what they think the 90s were like”

@@mangacollector2718 I know that other decades used inspiration from previous eras but it was more focused on one decade and it wasn't always on an individual level. Like, now and in the 90's you had people mixing 60's with 18th century and some other era.
It would be fun to have Luke guess which designer they are trying to emulate. Covering the logo and seeing if he can guess based on outfit alone. I feel like the logo overhead creates a bias in all of our interpretations of the looks.

@@atear6552 maybe but the point of the challenge is to show your creativity and unique perspective. It's not supposed to perfectly emulate actual fashion shows lol
@@atear6552 designer is catered to upper-middle class. to them, it is a status symbol, but to rich RICH people, it's an indicator that they're on different levels. ive worked with crazy rich people and they always wore bespoke. one of them even said to me once that bombarding yourself with designer is practically free advertising for the brand.

when they wear the clothes from the brand it makes it kinda lame. like obviously youre gonna look like the brand if you wear their clothes. i enjoy the ones that are a bit more creative because it really shows the style you associate with the name.

The entire trend of wearing transparent socks w sandals/heels stresses me out bc YOU CAN’T WALK! It’s slippery!!!
You can get socks with grips on the bottom or slice the bottoms so they don’t move around
But its great! Cos now I don't sweat all over my footwear 😂

If you want to slice the bottoms, go ahead, but if I were to do the trend, I’d slice the bottoms of some good grippy normal socks, and off my transparent socks, and stitch the bottom of my normal socks to my slippery socks.

I would have thought wearing lost of monogram items of a brand to front row is like wearing a band's t shirt to their gig, a little gauche.
I mean, maybe that's why they're doing a tiktok of what they would wear instead of being invited and wearing it there (okay that's a bit mean, but honestly, I don't think the company cares too much as long as you spend lots, have lots of influence and won't be bad PR)

Kamila Jurczyńska it’s normal but it’s also a lot, like if you’re at their concert you obviously are their fan so why feel the need to advertise your love of a band if it’s already clear? I personally think it’s more fun to try go all out with your own style, or go full costume and emulate a look from a music video of theirs or just something wacky random and unexpected (like a batman costume or something). It also depends on who you’re seeing too, like the batman thing might be fun at a more campy, punk or upbeat kind of show like the garden or hmltd, but maybe not so much at one that is more intense and personal like anna von hausswolf or swans or something. Idk that’s just my thoughts lol

I love this tik tok trend because I think it’s fun and cool to see regular people utilizing what they own to create these looks out of what they have, especially the people who can’t afford or don’t own actual brand pieces.
I feel like it’s more fun they don’t actually wear clothing from that brand

I have a fundamental understanding of fashion and it’s not my wheelhouse but I am OBSESSED WITH THESE VIDEOS.

I met Betsey Johnson last year and she is such a sweet person!
What I love about this challenge is 1. people can finally turn out some looks again after being stuck inside for so long (as a European in lockdown I definitely miss seeing well dressed people) and 2. you can finally see some of these designer pieces you usually only see on the runway/on celebrities being styled by the average person with an interest in fashion which means they actually invested in these pieces and cherish them more.
Part three please! This made me go look at more and there’s SO many good ones you haven’t gotten to yet. ☺️
