Ahhh yes. Camping. The city slicker's way of getting a taste of the TRUE way to live. The Country. Good on Funwhole for creating this amazing set that shows exactly how humans are supposed to live. Cities are the devil, and are ruining this great nation. Maybe you should create a Lego FARM instead of a Lego CITY?! God Bless, Amen, and keep up the hard work brother!
The vintage “Airstream” style camper is what sold me on this set. Its a bit of a bummer that its not bigger but it still looks great. With all the different cabins that Funwhole makes I see myself having a very nice campground.
You could make up a neat forest/lake display with these sets. Couple cabins, maybe add in some custom larger trees. Possibly even the medieval pier inn crossing the streams. Not many LEGO official sets in this style making it a great creative direction! Its interesting the boards in the firewatch tower are printed, considering Funwhole had the same style in prior sets as sticker/decals. Showing their design process evolve with newer sets!
Definitely will! Your ideas for a MOC are spot on. Re: printed tiles, I agree. I had a longer section about the stickers that I removed from the video, but the last Funwhole set I tried was all print pieces. I think they are still figuring that out.
I appreciate these off-brand reviews. So few "brick-building" UA-camrs do them. At the very least, they can inspire MOCs and ideas for LEGO purists. My advice? Don't listen to the naysayers -- you do you, NB!
I had it in my mind I wanted a City like everyone else has, but then i put together my first Funwhole set tonight (The Newsstand) and its SO STINKING CUTE and the quality was so satisfying, that now im reconsidering making a whole Steakpunk or Campground set instead. ❤❤ Thank you so much for suggesting this brand in other videos! My wallet is happy too!
Funwhole is a brand to reckon with. Like more and more other "clone brands", they propose other ways to enjoy putting bricks together. Three years ago, I would not have touched "knock-off" products, but channels like yours (and several German ones) showed me not only LEGO is of high quality. Once again, thanks for that, life is sooo much better with a little bit of variety.
Thanks for the comment! :) It's good to find others who are open minded. There's so many LEGO review channels out there, I try to get off the beaten path and see what else there is.
@@NewBrickerton I used to be a LEGO purist but let's get serious for one second: 1) it is too expensive (at least for my budget), it is impossible to buy the magnificent large sets; 2) the brand remains closed to many themes or won't sell them anymore. Resell prices are indecent. That is a problem for whoever arrives late to the party; 3) (most) building bricks have no longer been protected for many years; 4) there are now several high quality brands around, now (Pantasy, Funwhole, Cobi, Bluebrixx, etc.). For all these reasons (and more), the time to hesitate rests in the past.
The best Lego competitors are actually making sets that are better than Lego now (sometimes for 1/3 the price) plus themes Lego doesn't make or doesn't really support with any enthusiasm: medieval/castle, Cyberpunk, Steampunk, Old West, military, etc.
The lighting kit being part of the building steps is something that has really peaked my interest. I really wish after market kits like Light My Bricks, for as much as they cost, also gave instructions on wiring as you go, rather than taking apart.
hey man i started watching your videos a month ago and i just wanted to thank you and your advice because it allowed me to start my own lego city too. by the way, im a big fan and i cant wait to see your next video
Another really cool set, I’m really excited for what funwhole is coming up with next. I also hope that this helps Lego elevate themselves even more now that there’s growing competition
Hey man. I’ve been watching your videos for some time now. I honestly thought that your channel was one of the biggest Lego/bricks on yt. Your content is so well made, very informative and really entertaining! I am pretty sure you are going to blow up any time soon. I mean you are already have a following, but what I really mean is that I literally thought you were one of those channels with 1mil subs plus lol. Keep up the good work you are doing incredible!!
Wow, thanks! Those are some really kind words, I super appreciate it. Main problem is I just don't post very often, but I've got a lot of stuff in the works. You made my day
Thanks for showing in detail, I’m looking to moc up a “dock” for my city, think I’m going to buy this set, build the camper van n camping stuff, and use tower for pieces to make my dock, seems like perfect combo of parts to do it n browns, and I love the van, so it’s total win/win lol
I purchased a sixth FO model (the cabin) a couple of hours ago, and now, you're back with another banger from the brand... I can't keep up, stop! :) You already said it about the last one, but this set is gorgeous as well. Definitely on my wishlist. The trailer is reaaaally nice. Since it's a little low, I'm wondering whether adding two rows of white plates (a line below and another just under the roof) would not solve the problem. If I could, I'd attach it to a Jimny from Cada. Unfortunately, the model seems to be retired and I can't find it. The yellow (Land/range?) Rover from LEGO would do the trick, wouldn't it? Or the 4x4 from years ago (the one with a horse trailer), maybe?
I like your idea of adding extra plates for the trailer. The more I look at it, it's just really small. But it fits perfectly on the build. You reminded me of the LEGO land rover, I gotta get that thing!
@@NewBrickerton The 40650 Land Rover is excellent, as is its price. A must have. If you can still find it (or maybe build it with spare parts), I also strongly recommand you the 7635, which was almost perfect.
By the way, your editing style is dope! You really do justice to the products. I'm just not so sure about the mic partly in the frame (even though I LOVE them mics).
Thank you! I'm currently filming in a corner of my basement that's still filled with boxes, haven't taken the time to fully set up a filming area yet so my production quality has taken a hit haha. Normally I'd prefer not to have stuff in the background but it is what it is. I really appreciate the kind words
@@NewBrickerton You sure are aware of this, but your production, even so, is waaaaay ahead of that of many LEGO-related channels. Always a real treat to watch. GG!
With someone please make a video that explains how to use these instructions? I have been using Lego for ages and I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I can’t believe I have to go looking for instructions on how to use the instructions.
This isn’t a Lego competitor. It’s just a knock off. You should describe it That way. a Lego competitor is someone like Playmobil who makes their own stuff instead of just stealing designs and products.
I don't really agree. As you said, a knockoff means stealing designs. Was this design stolen from a LEGO set? If so, I haven't seen it but I'm open to being corrected. LEGO's copyright expired years ago so it's fair game to make brick products to compete with them.
I don't like how you are using off brand legos any more 1 set was like ok, but now I'm seeing less and less of actual legos if ya don't like the lego sets create your own mocs
Competition is a good thing in a free market. Monopolies tend to lead to stagnation. A little competition on the market ultimately means LEGO stepping up their game. Broadening their design approaches. Especially considering they shoot down just about every design that passes the IDEAS threshold (while claiming the rights to each submission).
That's fair if that's your opinion, but you don't have to watch this video. I've been trying alternative brands and telling other people to save money buying off brand baseplates and such since the very beginning of my channel, so I'm not gonna stop now. You should just watch whatever videos you want to, because I'm not changing soon! :) With that said, I still will feature many LEGO items and MOCs coming here soon.

Thanks for the kind comment. Agreed. I'm going to demolish the city and put a farm in its place. I'll work on it 36 hours a day!

The lighting system makes them look cozier at night. I'm not familiar with this mini figure design, but this has a different taste. I love these sets.

Are Funwhole’s brown bricks stronger than Lego’s brown bricks and won’t snap in half if you look at it funny?
Haha, I can't confirm 100%, but they seem structurally sound so far!
Are you planning to add it in your city?
Oh yeah I'm going to make a whole campground
Do you have a discount code?
Alright, I guess I have to get it. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the Minifigs, how do lego minifigs fit into Funwhole studs?
The studs match 1 to 1. You can always just use the build and replace with lego minifigs! :)
