The chimps were visibly mentally disturbed, most of them way too far gone. I'm inclined to believe that there are many more facilities like this, considering this facility (the federally funded Oregon National Primate Research Center) had to be infiltrated in order to expose the horrible conditions. Animal testing is NOT just injecting a drug. It can vary from incisions made to the top of an animal's skull to forcing an animal to inhale tobacco smoke for 60 days before killing it. Animal testing is animal cruelty.

As with any simplified model it’s just as good as your selection of cells, metrics you follow and sample size, you cannot model the whole organism so beyond very primary testing it can’t go. Very good for initial or very focused cases but you cannot test complex systematic effects this way (like influence on longevity, hormones etc)

This is a nice thought but as long but... as we have a functioning government and FDA there will always be animal testing. Always.. It is the price and luxury of living in a modern world. If you want to rid the world of animal testing then no one should be allowed to sue for any negative side effects 💁🏻 Your kid died from some drug? Oh, that sucks but at least no monkeys or beagles died 🙏🏻☠️

Doubt. Especially on complex tissues like nervous, you'll still need animal testing.
