Great, I think the art of preparing fish is greatly overlooked by sushi channels. Thank you for posting this video!
This looks delicious and easy to prepare.
I'm currently not drinking and can't risk having alcohol in my possession would it be OK without the sake
It might be a bit challenging, but there are some substitutions for alcoholic ingredients.
Vinegar: brings out acidity similar to that of sake and balances the flavors.
Fruit juice: such as apple juice adds sweetness and savory notes as a substitute for mirin.
Feel free to tweak the amounts to suit your taste.
Nice one with this herring as a side dish. Do you mind upload a vid about nigiri topping? I’ve seen a lot of chef putting onion and seem to be grated ginger but I’m not sure what was those
Lucas Hoang good question. Usually it is grated ginger. When you prepare fish like mackerel, which tends to be fishy, ginger taste helps it add refreshing note.
